    I would guess Xmit= transmit SW= switch. Basically a toggle for the mic.

      Your right. It's a trigger feature to by pass the vox

    • @jwreagan

      Perhaps it is used for transmitting via radio. I notice it is only on the two main inputs, like for a pilot/copilot, and the other two don't need the ability to xmit over the radio. Now I gotta look this things manual up.

    Xmtsw = transmit switch.
    If you wire this into an aircraft audio system, a transmit switch is required to transmit over the aircraft radio.

    Did you try listening to music with this set up and if so, how was it?

    • @liljeepfamily

      Ben Magee, yes we did. The music wasn't super loud but it definitely works from a phone or radio with an 1/8 inch headphone jack.

    Kinda thinking about something like this. Don't need it yet but am curious to know more about it. Did you get the headphones used? Because I can only find those for around $110. Also, if you ever figure out how to hook this setup to a CB radio system with a PTT, let me know. That would be awesome. Thanks for the info.

    • @AceInvader
      @AceInvader 3 года назад

      @@jacobphilbrook4414 No unfortunately did not. Looked into getting a handheld ham radio as that seems simpler, and a lot more common it seems. That has available adapters with 3.5mm inputs which my intercom has outputs for. I guess you can use something like this with a splitter, one for separating audio and mic inputs, then this has the ptt www.amazon.com/BTECH-Connector-Adapter-Compatible-Headsets/dp/B019YJMRZS
      I did get a couple headsets and an intercom and its a lot of fun on the highway with the top off on the Jeep. Don't care if I look like a huge nerd.

      deereboy90, definitely for the front seats it was good. The rear seats pick up a little more sound from the air flying in. I'm happy with them though.

    • @liljeepfamily
      @liljeepfamily  8 лет назад +4

      I got them on eBay. They were called Icon racing seats. I paid $300 for the set. They have held up well. My seat is starting to tear just slightly but I also leave the top off all summer so I imagine, no matter what brand seat I had, it would've started doing something like that.

    By the way if you have music playing through your headset does it automatically mute when someone talks like a noise VOX cancellation system?

    • @liljeepfamily
      @liljeepfamily  6 лет назад

      Robert Drinkwine The music does not mute. There also is not a way to control how loud the music is. Even if you turn the volume all the way up, it stays at the same volume as long as your phone is at max volume. It also does not stop playing when someone talks. It’s very light in the background

    The x jack is for the ppt switch like on the joystick of the airplane

    • @liljeepfamily
      @liljeepfamily  7 лет назад

      hallobaaaby, what does the PPT switch do?

    • @RosssRoyce
      @RosssRoyce 7 лет назад

      Push To Talk, it sends your voice out through the Mic cable when hooked into an aircraft com system. Normally you have this on the planes joystick. Usually your unit would be voice activated, no need for switch since you are not transmitting out of the jeep. Could you hear your own voice slightly amplified when you talk on your headset's mic even without other headsets hooked?
