I love this game so much. The part when they ready all their weapons and are about to attack him is awesome. I used the typical Dart, Rose, and Albert :D
i remember playing this game as a kid (8 years old). but i never had a memory card so i couldn't save my progress...but that never stopped my love for this game. everyday, i would restart the whole thing, but i didn't care, i just loved the game that much... my goal now is to buy a ps1, a memory card, and this game and my childhood will finally have closure.
easily the best old-school game ive ever played. there isnt a better game with a better storyline than this game. i love how this game took my 6 YEARS to finaly complete. now, i didnt play it staright for 6 years, its just when i got it, i played it till the part with lenus and the dragon. then my game froze and i got pissed off. i startedplaying it again and beat it and it is such a good feeling beating on of the longest, greatest games in the history of video games.
as classic as final fantasy 7 ^.^" around 97's to 00's i played both of these games. amazing till now still can remember the techniques storyline and ost THUMBS UP~~~!!! the once mighty squaresoft~~~ where have you gone???~~
as classic as final fantasy 7 ^.^" around 97's to 00's i played bith of these games. amazing till now still can remember the techniques storyline and ost THUMBS UP~~~!!! the once mighty squaresoft~~~ where have you gone???~~
I haven't played this game in years but its something that's stuck in my head. Every now and then when I think of RPG or remember when I was younger this pops into my head. Lotsa good memories and enjoyable hours spent on it. I'd really love to see a sequel or even a prequel about the Dragon Campaign or so for the modern systems. This game seriously didn't get the praise it deserved just because of the hype surrounding FF7 as though it was some divine rpg at the time. Sigh...
This is inside the Moon That Never Sets which is placed on top of the Divine Tree. After working your way through the tree, you teleport into the Moon and work your way through it until you reach Zieg, who turns out to be Melbu Frahma. :)
a very unique gem for the origonal playstation and an RPG that wasnt Final Fantasy, i wish they made something like this for one of the next gen consoles
i remember back in the day with my psx, stayin up all night playin this game. It was wonderful, he is fairly easy...... it took me like an hour to beat him though, haha ^^ and the feeling you get after you beat him, oh mann.. priceless
I never worried about the minions, because I knew if I could get through him first, they'd go away. I mainly focused on Melbu Frahma and constantly saved up for dragoon specials using Dart, Albert, and Meru.
this is my favorite old school game ever in my opinion(by old school i mean everything in playstation, nes, snes, dreamcast, gamboy, gameboy sp etc. not including ps2, psp, x-box, gamecube and anything newer)
Yes I recommend that you get it, it's 4 disc and the story just pulls you in even the side quest are good and to a certain extent tie in with the main story
I really liked this final boss. Your main character gets a new OP power, the boss has several phases with WTF? looking forms. Epic battle theme fitting the situation. I remember i first beat this after playing through the whole final tree dungeon in one sitting late at night, and battled this at dawn.
in my opinion this was the best game i ever played because of the storyline and if they remade this game with better graphics like the ones of today then it would be the best.
@Chaturgha Going from what Rose mentioned earlier, the Moon was showing the past, present and, in Melbu Frahma's case, the future once he became the God of Destruction. He's building a new world, humanity flourishes, but then war & despair breaks out, and in the end, death. The disturbing "Sixth Generation" battleground shows the eventual deaths of every living thing if the Dragoons fail.... 😌
Zig shows up (Darts father/ the original Red Dragoon) and takes back Dart's momento. The whole party is in danger then because Zig goes in for the kill, then everyone is saved because Lloyd shows uo (surprise he didn't actually die when we thought he did! :D) only to die protecting Dart. Zig flees. Then Dart and Lloyd have a bit of a moment and ends up giving Dart the divine dragoon spirit. (I am assuming you know everything up to that point lol)Mind you, It's been years since I last played. :)
This was awesome Disk one party: Dart, Rose and Lavitz, Shana Disk two party: Dart, Hacshel, Kongol, Rose Disk three party: Dart, Rose, Kongol, Albert Disk four party: Dart, Rose, Hacshel, Meru
@secretagentarkane Kongol does have a dragoon spirit. You have to buy his dragoon spirit I think in the 2nd or 3rd disc at that shopping city near the shrine. But you have to get it before the 4th disc thats a fact or else he'll say that he sold it.
7:28, you think: "....Did I get him?? Already??" Then you get to 7:52, and think: "..Ohhhh Shiiiiiiitt...." cause you KNOW how many generations there are! XD
I was always fascinated by this boss, and just wtf he was doing during the last boss. Hey, now I'm a giant pauldron with a face that eats things, in star wars hyperspace! Now I'm this completely other thing! Whatever it was, it was cool though.
I use Dart, Albert and Meru. Albert and Meru balance out each other's shortcomings. Albert neutralises Meru's low attack, defense and HP, while Meru neutralises Albert's low Magical Attack, Magical Defense and Speed. I make Albert hold the Therapy Ring to restore 10% health every turn and Meru hold the Physical Ring to increase her HP by 50%. Dart holds... I don't remember the name... but it restores MP every turn so he can keep using his Red-Eyed Dragon Attack. 175% power is too good.
she got sick and could'nt hold the Dragoon spirit so it passed to Merlinda...i think thats her name but Shana is still alive, shes at the end huging up on Dart
Well yeah kinda. These videos were made with the old smaller video display in mind, so they were encoded and uploaded at like 320x240 or so. (Yeah stupid choice on my part but it was done to save HD space)
I wish they would remake this game!! I remember playing this as a kid but never got a chance to beat it..my memory card got corrupt and then I ended up losing my game:((
I beat this guy without any healing items :3 Dart was lvl 44, Meru was lvl 41, and Rose was lvl 40 ^^ Rose and Meru had Legendary Casques and Armor of Legend. Dart had his Dragoon armor and basic helm. Dart had his Soul Stealer-w/e I forget the name... And damn did I kick his ass xD Meru had her Mage ring, and Rose had an attack badge, master additions did 1k+ With all chars. Great game
i have beat this so many times my head hurts just thinking about it. i use Dart .Albert and Miranda. i never thot to use haschel. but anyway nice video and how did you get the material shield and pandemonium item???
@MrSmegheneghan Now that I didn't know. I remembered my way of doing it from reading an old Game informer magazine as a kid. And you just gave me my 2nd Let's Play :)
@liches25 on ur way 2 the final boss, you have 2 go over some mountains, wen u see a sign that said danger you might fall off, or somthin like that, fall down the mt, and you will be infront of a door, go in and you will have 2 look around a bit, but a certain enemy carries it, or u can find it in a chair and kill a ghost 2 get it
@Cyril86 i suppose he was talking about using the "enhanced" options of PS1 emulator, like using petegl plugin which improve the graphics beyond the original ps1
By the time i get to melbu all my additions are perfected (up to 99) but i do love you boldness to use haschel and meru as your partners. I have to use kongol and albert. They drain more life w/ their additions bone crush and blossom storm!!
Don't dragoon during the battle. If you don't use the dragoons then you should be fine. Though, it's not really worth it anyway. You'll get stuck at the end of a later Virage fight after you try to use this thing that transports you, or at least I did.
Having a Legend Armor and Legend Casque on everyone is overkill.
Congratulations! You've just made the game extremely easy.
I know this was years ago but wow your game lagged when you did meru's healing magic.
I love this game so much. The part when they ready all their weapons and are about to attack him is awesome.
I used the typical Dart, Rose, and Albert :D
I love Meru. She was always my favorite. So cute.
I liked the combat pushing buttons at the right time and what not. Very unique. Very underrated game. Glad i still have my original copy :)
I remember when this game came out, I thought it had the best graphics ever:D
i got this game years ago, and its still a great game, great replay value
No i recorded this off the PS1 version played on the ePSXe emulator.
i remember playing this game as a kid (8 years old). but i never had a memory card so i couldn't save my progress...but that never stopped my love for this game. everyday, i would restart the whole thing, but i didn't care, i just loved the game that much...

aw...you skipped the part where lloyd came and attacked him
we never would have been able to beat melbu frahma without lloyd's help...*sigh*... Rest in Peace Lloyd
I haven't played this game in years but its something that's stuck in my head. Every now and then when I think of RPG or remember when I was younger this pops into my head. I miss this game. ;( Brings back old memories
Damn dude. props on beating him with Haschel and Meru it always took Albert and Kongol to own him for me
Legend Of Dragoon the best RPG of all time. Fuck Final Fantasy, LOD pwns
FUUUUU i want to play this damn game hopefully it comes to psn soon
I know that legend of dragoon may not have good graphics but it has very good game play and I
cannot get bored of it . yeah it is not boring

Beat this game when i was like 14 or 15
a very unique gem for the origonal playstation and an RPG that wasnt Final Fantasy, i wish they made something like this for one of the next gen consoles

This guy was a war of attrition for me. All I remember was that it took me forever.
Yes I recommend that you get it, it's 4 disc and the story just pulls you in even the side quest are good and to a certain extent tie in with the main story
Lol! I love this game!
Melbu Framha is so cool too. (Nvr got to him though...still stuck agains the ghost of the Divine Dragon to this day)
I really liked this final boss. Your main character gets a new OP power, the boss has several phases with WTF? looking forms. Epic battle theme fitting the situation. Great video and thanks for uploading this!
Love this game ;D
I've always wanted to see a handheld version of this game. Finally, 13 years later, i'm playing it on my phone.
the most bosses ive ever seen in a game
ever, i have to try this game

love this game best rpg
As it turns out in the story, Rose was the Black Monster. Though, Dart forgives her for what she did.
This was awesome
Disk one party: Dart, Rose and Lavitz, Shana
Disk two party: Dart, Hacshel, Kongol, Rose
Disk three party: Dart, Rose, Kongol, Albert
Disk four party: Dart, Rose, Hacshel, Meru
HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I WISH THIS WAS IN THE PLAYSTATION STORE NOW!
I MISS ALL FOR OF THE DISC NOW.
This was one of the best games ever created.
Always a pain in the ass...
Ha I love this game. People think I'm dumb when I tell them I play a ps1 game on my ps3 more than my ps3 games now.
@secretagentarkane Kongol does have a dragoon spirit. You have to buy his dragoon spirit I think in the 2nd or 3rd disc at that shopping city near the shrine. But you have to get it before the 4th disc thats a fact or else he'll say that he sold it.
I hope The Legend of Dragoon comes to PlayStation Network as a PSone Classics title in America soon!
7:28, you think: "....Did I get him?? Already??" Then you get to 7:52, and think: "..Ohhhh Shiiiiiiitt...." cause you KNOW how many generations there are! XD
I died so many times..tryna beat him
I used the same team you had and owned him as well heh, good vid.
I was always fascinated by this boss, and just wtf he was doing during the last boss. Hey, now I'm a giant pauldron with a face that eats things, in star wars hyperspace! Now I'm this completely other thing!

I miss this game so much, I need to buy a ps3 to play this game. I beat this game almost like 50 times already.
could sumone upload the scene where lloyd dies
i dont hate lloyd mind u but i love how he pwns melbu at first with the tentacles XD
Were you playing it on the PS2? 'Cause I had the same problem and I used the PS 1 and it worked fine.
I beat this guy without any healing items :3 Dart was lvl 44, Meru was lvl 41, and Rose was lvl 40 ^^ Rose and Meru had Legendary Casques and Armor of Legend. Great game
Damn even for the last boss, summoning three virages like nothing is badass.
Dart just looks awesome in Divine Dragoon form
@UniverseKeeper1 yea, i wish they remake this game for the ps3. I still have mines for the ps1 and for psp including pc ^-^
i cant believe u used meru! omg. i beat melbu with haschel alone one time i was like oh hell yes!!. but meru wow dude
@IsaiahEdwardLewis You are very dedicated to the game. I respect that.
This is the best game I have ever played
Watch out,we got a badass over here
My party was Dart, Albert, and Heschel. Sometimes I would use Meru instead of Heschel, though.
albert's additions were hard as hell
i have beat this so many times my head hurts just thinking about it. i use Dart .Albert and Miranda. i never thot to use haschel. but anyway nice video and how did you get the material shield and pandemonium item???
his 'Gust of Wind Dance'' is really hard to master, and u get it for like the majority of 2nd disc.
Albert and Rose are incredible powerful, the best team with Dart
last kraken --> judges of zenebatos --> devildom (lavitz) --> butterfly thing --> death rose --> clare --> indora --> michael --> doel --> archangel --> super virage --> Zeig --> fake fight (Lloyd suicides like a pro) --> Melbu Frahma (that dude)
Yay! Someone who uses Meru!
Don't answer him. That guy clearly never deserved to play this game in the first place.
rare game, prices on ebay are really starting to rise, take this as you will
If 2012 comes and Virges awake, I wanna battle LOD STYLE!
LOL i remember when i was like 10 playing this game and i would press pause just to dance to the menu music LOL
@MrSmegheneghan Now that I didn't know. I remembered my way of doing it from reading an old Game informer magazine as a kid. And you just gave me my 2nd Let's Play :)
@kujiko88 how did you do that? I can barely get my guys up to the thirties. Still i beat the game but, I've never gotten to the 60's at all.
@liches25 on ur way 2 the final boss, you have 2 go over some mountains, wen u see a sign that said danger you might fall off, or somthin like that, fall down the mt, and you will be infront of a door, go in and you will have 2 look around a bit, but a certain enemy carries it, or u can find it in a chair and kill a ghost 2 get it

anyone else catch the slight remix to the title screen at around 0:40? I was diggin that
the best rpg game for ps1 absolutely epic!!!!!
Should be noted Meru is the fastest character in this game.
i got this game years ago, and its still a great game, great replay value, but melbu still kicks my ass :(
This game is the best game in the world.
This was the best game ever.
By the time i get to melbu all my additions are perfected (up to 99) but i do love you boldness to use haschel and meru as your partners. I have to use kongol and albert. They drain more life w/ their additions bone crush and blossom storm!!

Man he was way too long lol but i still loved this entire game.
Yo legends of Dragoon is the best game i have ever played it is the best
@MrYungkash It sucks when a good game like this freezes, I got it to go past it ONCE but i forgot to save when i beat it. Havent played it since
captured and dead in that order
OK thanks. Because I only played to the middle of Disc 2 before I stopped.
Take that, Omni Sweep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Lloyd just before lloyd dies like a bitch from a fatal attack from Melbu.
Nice taste you have in your active party, my friend. You and I ran the same combo. :D
Nice Of Pressing Combo No Miss At The first Battle!
One word: Volcano!
sick,
though my party was:
Dart, Kongol, Albert,
all D. lvl 5 & final additions
@DWarrior4 The exact same thing with me when I fought Melbu Frahma the first time! I barely defeated that lunatic in the end.
haha i ssooo remember that last one!!! Melbu Frahma..yea, it took so much time beat it..its so weird looking though o.O"
