- It's finally test drive time!
This poor 1957 Chevy had been sitting abandoned for a few years, but now SHE'S BACK ON THE ROAD! Well back on the road.....ish
Today we just had a few remaining tasks to finish up before turning a wheel. Transmission cooler lines, u joint, shift linkage and bleeding the brakes. With everything checked off the list, we went for the first drive around the block!

I love seeing the work you do and the importance of “get it running vs. get it right” You genuinely appear to have fun with what you do. Sure there’s the frustrations and all of that, but you genuinely build really awesome stuff and build stuff that isn’t afraid to be in traffic or come face to face with the dreaded grocery cart. I can’t begin to say how much I’ve learned from you. I genuinely appreciate all that you do!
When are you going to get back on the kit car?

Damn you do what makes it more safe. I was laying under my son's car the other day and the jack stand gave way. The car came down on the base of the stand. It came down bruised my ribs and knock out my front tooth. It really shook me up. I'm still shaking...I've been turning wrenches for 47 years and never had something this bad happen to me.
Too many guys are way too trusting of jacks and stands. A friend of mine was almost crushed to death under his car when a jack stand gave way. He lived but has been in a wheelchair for many many years now. He sued and was awarded a million or two but not nearly enough for losing his ability to walk and almost losing his life!! Cars are cool but not cool enough to die over!

The trick to having a garage lift is to put a squeaky toy on top of the car so you know when it gets to the ceiling.

I got a 57 4 dr belair.building it gasser style with a bumper .extra weight will keep front end on the ground.mines green and ivory white.

No wonder it revs up quick when the torque converter isn’t bolted to the flywheel! 😂😂😂… I love this car though!
I know of 3 turbo 350s that have cracked housings from removing those brass fittings. I dont know if it was from removal or installing the fitting. Turns into a lot of grief.

Its a Runner almost a Driver Dani didn't rollup the window so if it snows well its her fault. If we leave our windows down we usually find our neighbors cats inside the car especially if left open over night
