West Komodo with Snorkel Venture

From the northeast coast of Sumbawa, we have access to four different regions-West Komodo, Sangeang Volcano, Gili Banta Island, and Sumbawa-for some truly amazing and unique snorkeling. Because there is so little human traffic here, we’ll find pristine hard and soft corals in abundance. The area is busy with fish life, lots of turtles, larger rays, and reef sharks cruising around. Also around Sangeang Volcano, which is still semi-active, we’ll swim over bubbling black sands and hyper-rich reefs. They’re unlike any of the others reefs in the region because of its nutrient-dense volcanic substrate. Kalimaya has its own fantastic house reef where you are welcome to snorkel at your leisure.

I was there 3 weeks ago snorkeling. The resort was excellent and the snorkeling exceeded our expectations. For us, it rivals Raja Ampat.
The scenery is stunning, Pink Beach (at low tide) is a sight to behold. Many favourite snorkel locations, Snake Island with its population of big Blacktips, at Sangaeng, Farmer Wall and Bubble Reef are outstanding. The wall called High Voltage is magic.
Just a tip: when we went it was full moon so currents could be strong and the water was definitely a bit chill compared to RA.
