    I'm going to show this video to my wife to convince her we need more grills/smokers. I currently use a Weber kettle with a Slow n sear and a Traeger pellet smoker. Love them both!

    Thanks for the tour Todd and Susie, fun video ! I use several, but not quite as many as you, for the same strengths and weaknesses as you mention. I’m very passionate for outdoor cooking, and cook on a pellet grill, a gas grill, a flat top griddle, and a large 24” kamado grill. My wife and I entertain 20-30 friends , 3-4 times a year, and it’s really great to have all four of my grills cooking on the same day. Main dishes, snacks, deserts etc. add plenty of cold drinks, and it doesn’t get any better ! Cheers ! Happy grilling, smoking, cooking !

    I recently competed in my first barbecue competition. We like spicy, so we used spicy rub. Turns out some of the judges were children, 10 and 12 years old. It was just a friendly community contest, no money or trophies, I'll be back next year.

    Thank you for the tour! I presently have 2 offsets, 2 50/50's, 2 kettles, and a flat top. My best times when all were fired up and biggest problem was my beer getting warm. Downsizing now by 1/2 but thinking finally of a pellet grill or a 26 inch kettle. Would like your thoughts on a larger kettle grill.

    For people wanting to get into kamado grilling, get an Akorn. It is double wall steel and they are cheap, light, durable, and they work great. Kamado Joe accessories fit, like the Joetisserie. For $300 you can get a grill that really does everything the heavy, expensive ceramics do and you can actually put it in a truck and take it somewhere if you want. BTW, temp control is easy. I leave it unattended for hours at a time and am amazed how flat the temp curve is when I get home. I could afford a ceramic, but I can't figure out why I should get one other than they are cool. Seems like a waste of money I could spend on MEAT.

    You guys are having way too much fun! I love it! I have no choice but to use electric because we live in a condo complex that only allows electric. I'm from Texas and it breaks my heart to have to get rid of my offset smoker. :( Now I have a Traeger that my husband bought me and I love the ease of using it for briskets, pork shoulders, even do burgers and chicken wings.

      @@christiancherniss8063 I have used them. My beef with grav systems is fuel costs. 1 full 8 hour smoke can eat an entire bag of coals, if not more. Using lump goes even quicker. Where 1 of the full size bags of pellets will give me 3 full smokes plus a little extra.
      The gravs are also difficult to get direct heat on. Where pellet is just opening a vent (heat deflector).

    Flat top griddles are not high maintenance. I have a 36" Blackstone and it is my favorite way to cook things other than my smoker. I have only used my huge grill once in the year since I got my Blackstone. And my Blackstone has a rear grease dispenser which makes it easy to clean. 5 minutes to clean up after I cook on it. Put the lid back on and you're ready for the next cook. I cook on it at least twice a day if not 3 times.

    • @tonsoguns420
      @tonsoguns420 5 лет назад +1

      I agree, but I think she means you can't just turn it off and leave it as is until next time like you can with a gas grill. You have to clean it, oil it, and keep it covered so it doesn't rust. I also have a 36" Blackstone which I love, but I agree with her, it does require just a bit more tlc than my other grills/smokers.

    I just recently found your channel and I love your content so far! Simple and to the point. Many clips are only 10 minutes which is easy to watch and your editing is great. I’m a little disturbed by the mind control algorithms used by RUclips because I was literally walking the dog this morning thinking you guys could probably do a really nice show on equipment. I came in and this was episode was near the top of my feed. I feel like a lab rat now. I may need to scroll back but I thought Todd guessed B 1952 for the Weber year. Could be wrong tho. Keep up the grate work. (Pun intended).

What are your thoughts on the Pit Boss ps1150? It’s roughly $600. Or is there another brand/model you would suggest?
    BTW I found your channel when I was about to smoke a prime rib and I used your Garlic butter crust recipe and it was amazing! I then shared the video with 2 coworkers who tried it and said they won’t do prime rib any other way again!
