I have to agree with everyone, this speech is pretty darn emotional no matter how many times you listen to it. Brings you to tears when you first watch season 8, brings you the tears the first time you listen to it here and it brings even more tears if you listen to it after the end of season 10.
344forever I just watch this part. And immediately had the urge to find a clip of it like this. It actually made me tear up just a little, and I don’t do that for shows. I started watching this just for funnies and honestly didn’t expect my reaction to this speech...
" Not this time, buddy." "Are you sure about this?" "I'm sure. Hit record for me, D." "Recording." "Hey guys, if you're hearing this, then that means you did it. You won. I wish there was another way, but I'm leaving this message, as well as others, in the hopes that you'll understand why I have to go this time. Heh, it was, it was actually Doyle who made me realize something I've never thought of before. There's so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day. And because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody all lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice ever made any difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end, they just have to have faith. _Ain't that a bitch."_
This show hasn’t gotten enough attention. This show has helped me through some rough times, and it always gives me that boost that says I can do this. It may seem silly but I really do enjoy this show. I hope I can thank everyone that worked so hard to make that show
Church : No no no, Tex, no. I think I just figured out what the Director couldn't. And Alpha either. It was you, Tex, all along. See I thought- I thought we, made you. The Director, and the fragments... but that's not the case. You made us. When the Alpha was created, you just kinda came along for the ride. You gave the Director the idea that he could make something more. That he could split the Alpha up. Don't you get it you were the memory. You were the key. You were so strong, you made a whole other person. God - he always wanted to find you. You know to get you right. To just see you one last time. And he wanted me to be able to do the same. To find you in here or... to find you in here or just, go down another iteration. Figure out this little Tex problem. Figure out how to do it right. But now I know. I know how to fix all o' this. How to end it once and for all. It was so simple all along. I just had to tell you three words. Three words I wasn't capable of telling you before. Tex: Oh, okay, wait a minute... are you gonna say “I love you?” Church: No Tex, no, I'm not gonna say I love you. I'm gonna say I forget you. I forget you. I'm letting you go. Okay world, do your fucking worst! 'Cause I sure as hell just did mine.

Oct. 2020 This has been a big year for RT, we've lost some big voices we grew to love. Here's to hoping that RT will be that good memory that will come back to us.
The message from this speech has been my philosophy for a lot of stuff for awhile now. Red Vs Blue has gotten me through some bullshit over the years, and I will always remain grateful for its existence
Makes it a lot more emotional now that rt has closed it's doors, but the memories that it bought will forever live on in the history books and merchandise that we have.
“A great love is a lot like a good memory. When it’s there, and you know it’s there, but it’s just out of your reach. It can be all that you think about. And you can focus on it and try to force it. But the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you’re patient and you hold still. Well maybe, just maybe… it’ll come to you.” Hits different for me with my fucked up brain. If I get really excited and plan something. A lot of the time, for seemingly no reason, it’s impossible for me to start.
Most people have told me that movies, books, comics, and shows are for entertainment purposes, and that I shouldn't hate things just because they lack a story or a moral. But what I've found is that, what makes good movies, books, shows, comics, Media, is a moral. A lesson. Good media should leave you with something lingering after you've finished it. You should leave walking away a different person than you were before. That's what Red vs Blue is to me. It always leaves me with something.
memory is key. i dont believe in a heaven or religion for that matter, but i do beleive we never truly die, we always live on in memories, if its what people had with us and the memories they remember us for and the times we have shared good or bad we are there being remembered, our personality our laughter our emotions most of it is saved with someone else, really its not what we did in our lives that mattered, but more so who we shared them with and how they will remember us by.
On the subject of memories... Remember the times when RvB was "old-school?" When it was done in Halo CE, and you always had that little targeting cursor sitting there, but you learned to ignore it and enjoy the show? And now, look how far we've come; now we have CGI action and other fancy doo-dads, but it still holds that signature RvB flavor... Thank you, Roosterteeth, for showing that some things really do age like fine wine. I salute you. (^.^)7
I keep watching this but there is something about the background image there’s something about this video it brings me a feeling I can’t explain but I love that feeling life is weird and full of mystery I guess
@PeterBluth Love that speech with the director too. Have rewinded it and watched it over and over and thats what i am looking for wheni foundthis one. : )
My favorite speech from RvB. The other favorites are the Director's final speech at the end of Reconstruction and Church's speech about hating people at the end of the Blood Gulch Chronicles.
I don't know. He is the memories of the director and of the Alpha, so, if memory is the key, as Delta said, and memories are what makes a person, he is Church.
I know that this is basically it, but is Epsilon-Church basically church? Since he is technically a fragment of the alpha, he would be a "different" AI, but since he is the *memory* fragment of Alpha, wouldn't that eventually make epsilon basically another alpha except he can't be split, or can he? I wanna make a discussion about this sort of stuff but places like that are hard to find online where people are discussing this like a lot or you get notifications for that sort of stuff and what not
Epsilon has all of Alpha's memories so is basically Alpha (possibly less powerful since he wouldn't be a 'smart' AI). He is a fragment of Alpha so if you considered Delta and the others different from Alpha, then he is as well. Also listen to when Epsilon explains recursion to Tucker.
@SnakeTheWolf Not quite accurate. She was diasabled from doing anything when the bomb blew up but survived only to be captured by the meta and then erased when the EMP went off. If you don't believe me go back and look at the meta when wash is about to activate the EMP in season 6 she is at the front on the left. still using the image from halo 2
This is one of the reasons why I consider Rooster Teeth to be better than 343: RT knows the lesson to let a story go and 343 is dragging Halo on out of obligation with no vision for the future beyond retreading the past.
My ex broke up with me and this speech fils me with so much hope for the future not just with her if she comes back but just the future in general ❤️❤️❤️

One of the best traits that Alpha/Epsilon obtained from the director, is they both make damn good speeches.
