I went to Tilos in the mid 1980s it has definitely been built up since then. The main town was just a small harbour and a few building along the sea front. Was a quiet magical place very little light pollution so the night sky was covered in stars They were still exploring the Elephant caves. We walked up The archaeologists so shocked they had visitors the took us round and showed us the finds.
Very interesting, we had similar comments at the elephant museum from the person/guide looking after the small place. Not as many tourists and they are working on marketing Tilos to more people, not sure how because it's not really a popular destination and in some respects I hope it stays this way, more stuck in the past. I loved my time there, very genuine people
@@StefanoFerro was definitely no car or bike hire. But recall an open flatbed truck with seats acted as a bus service round the island. On any of the beaches apart from an organised BBQ the most we ever saw was 4 other people.
Thanks for covering some of the more unknown islands!
No problem!
Planning to go there in September, looks an amazing island to visit
Indeed. You will love it. Enjoy your trip
