Because Bayern is the first team that Kane has excelled at and proven himself? He hasn’t done it in a different league with a weaker team? Or at International level?
"At this moment" .. Liverpool are the best team in Europe, as a fan of Liverpool I hope it continues. Man City Dec 1st.. we beat them whilst still maintaining this kind of football and then, maybe, I, as a fan, will believe that we have a great chance of at least winning the premier league title with a fantastic chance of European success. I always knew we had a special team, but the way Slot has come in and made this team his.. well, that is purely down to good philosophy..Slot has the same type of football mind as Klopp has, and this team needs that type of thinking. Right now I think Liverpool are still playing an English type of football.. but the philosophy is becoming European.. it's a good mix.
Someone tell Shearer Diaz was the number 9 from the start until Nunez came one. Then he was moved to the left. Not got a clue Alan. AND he was there !!!!
I feel like Klopps Liverpool were running on pure heart and emotion, whereas Slots Liverpool are cool and calculated in their play, but both styles of play deliver excitement and wins, Slots style is probably more sustainable
As a Villa fan and a Mings fan, I think it was a penalty and complete stupidity from an intelligent player. It’s a shame it cost us but I can’t argue against the decision at all. Love the pod and it keeps me laughing all through! 😂
Real Madrid are an elite club with elite players. Kylian is playing a new role in a much more competitive league in a squad that is significantly higher standard than PSG. Time will improve there squad for sure.
The difference between Real & AC is one is a group of superstar individuals the other is a team that has decent / good players who play for each other .
For the Asthon Villa game, I do agree that it's a pity the match was decided because of that stupid blunder. But I do think the better team won, club Brugge played very wel and showed some very nice teamwork were they created some very nice chances, if it wasn't for martinez they could've had a few more goals. meanwile villa strugled to get past the defense, I think they only got 1 shot on goal
On the Mings incident. I agree that he gained no advantage with handling the ball, and Micah says it should have been ignored. My question is, if a player performs a foul throw in when the other team isn’t in a position to press for the ball, what would the referee call in that situation?
City have injuries and have proved in other tricky spells that they will come back. I always think there is a massive overreaction from everyone when I team loses a couple of games. Away games in the premier and champs league are tough, the standard has dramatically improved from years gone by.
Inter parked the bus & hoped for a lucky goal, which they got. They had one eye on their match on Sunday vs. Napoli, so made a couple of changes, but still put out their best players in Martinez & Calhanoglu. We dominated possession in the San Siro & had 20 shots to their 7. McCoist was banging on about how Arsenal hadn't created any chances, despite a goal-line clearance & a last-ditch block, which I think maybe influenced people who can't think for themselves. Clearly this came out too late to include a discussion of what an absolute shambles Spurs were though 😂😂
That most of their dangerous opportunities were from dead balls because apart from those occasions I only saw 2 clear goal opportunities and they were from long shots that were saved or blocked but they were in the right direction.
The best chances of the first half went to inter with Dumfries hitting the bar and calhanoglu firing only just wide. Then yes once they got the goal they played a very low block from there but to say it was the whole game was not true at all. Possession and shots were in inters favour in the first half.
@@r.o.b1002 possession in the first half was 52% in arsenal's favour, & they had 7 shots to Inter's 6. First half Arsenal had 7 corners to Inter's 0. So, you're wrong there mate.
@@tyrannosaurus696 that’s my bad then I thought possession was slightly in inters favour by the end of the half. But even given that, my point was that the best opportunities of the half fell to inter, Arsenal did not threaten at all really in the first half. They might have had 7 shots but they did not threaten at all. Then once inter got their goal they played low block, they did not park the bus the whole game at all, only the second half
@@tyrannosaurus696 which you even kind of admitted to yourself, even if you are to just look at stats rather than who had the more dangerous chances in the first half, 52-48 possession and 7-6 shots. No one would ever say that either one of those teams played park the bus in the first half 😂
The style of football hasn't nothing to do with the atmosphere or how loud it is. There's this thing with people that because we are more pragmatic that the atmosphere isn't as loud
When he took office, Slot repeatedly explained why the team changes its way of playing during the match. They force the opponent to reveal their crucial tactics, after which they neutralize the opponent with position changes and attack the weak points. But nobody pays attention, and chewing on the same old talking points.
Arsenal fans genuinely think they’re better than Liverpool🤣 a team that’s scoring goals for fun, and from open play. Not relying on set pieces and hoofing it to the big guy like the Crazy Gang Wimbledon side from the 80s, after £800m spent🤣
No, no. Pls, we're not at Arsenal's level. We're lucky, the ref is always on our side, we don't have injury problems like them. It's just good fortune that we're on top. After all they dominated us at home. 😅
Can we call out the cheating by Real Madrid please? Everytime i watch them, Carvajal is doing the most. Vini jr squawking on the floor and now Bellingham holding his face when getting tapped on the shin. Our English players are some of the worst at it now. Grim sport.
@@matiasescobar8730 90% of footballers flop, it is to get an advantage give the other player a yellow card. The reason he talks like that is because he is a RM hater because they historically win a lot. Football players flop get over it.

I dont see why Rashford cant play the role of the running striker when amorim arrives. Hes better than that guy from sporting, he just needs to be played in that role!
No, he is not better than Gyokeres, he has a much better physique for a striker, he is also someone who plays with his back to the goal, he is someone who has a great sense of positioning and above all he is consistently lethal in the area.
because he's on record as not liking being the no. 9; same as Gordon at Newcastle, or Salah & Diaz at liverpool - yes they can all play CF, but you lose as much as you gain, if not more
Quote from Bernardo silva should be taken with a pinch of salt...he's been wanting to leave for Barcelona for last 2-3 years but barca can't afford him. 😂
Does Slot experiment with players in the first half of games and then reverts back to tried and tested in the second half? That way he can still see what his players can do.
Question for the q&a what 3 clubs do you think has the best atmosphere? and can you remember what game you have been to or played in that had the best atmosphere?
From the outside I would say Dortmund, Galatasaray & maybe PSG. PSG fans don't stop singing the entire game, it's nuts. Napoli fans are also incredible. Liverpool probably the best in the prem, but most English grounds are quiet in comparison to the continent.
@@tyrannosaurus696That's not true, a section of fans don't stop singing but it makes it very monotone. Best fans are south American. Went to a Boca game a few years back and have never experienced anything like it.

Thumbs up going to watch later on Big screen awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
Mr Lineker, love is wonderful at any age-just keep enjoying your life!
What match did u watch mate Diaz was the striker
As a Villa fan and a Mings fan, I think it was a penalty and complete stupidity from an intelligent player. It’s a shame it cost us but I can’t argue against the decision at all.
Love the pod and it keeps me laughing all through! 😂
It was a shame, but you will still easily qualify for the knockout phase, which is what matters.
Absolutly love Shearer. as far as i can see, a strong good guy, fantastic player. cheers from germany.
Remember, Klopp had a go at the fans a number of times for not getting involved. It’s a two way street, always has been.
Hes got the confidence without being arrogant... exactly this
Yeah Amorim should bring all his players in like Ten Hag did. That worked well.
Real Madrid are an elite club with elite players. Kylian is playing a new role in a much more competitive league in a squad that is significantly higher standard than PSG. Time will improve there squad for sure.
Wow...now the real test is RM
The difference between Real & AC is one is a group of superstar individuals the other is a team that has decent / good players who play for each other .
I appreciate this is a podcast about English clubs, but when you mentioned Celtic in the opening, I thought you were going to review that match too😢
Hey shearer are you sure you were on co comms because Diaz was through the middle not gakpo
He's just Slotted right in. Pardon the pun
Gaz and Alan:make a joke
Micah: 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
From the breakfast to the tea, sausages will be free!!!
Cheers lads
For the Asthon Villa game, I do agree that it's a pity the match was decided because of that stupid blunder. But I do think the better team won, club Brugge played very wel and showed some very nice teamwork were they created some very nice chances, if it wasn't for martinez they could've had a few more goals. meanwile villa strugled to get past the defense, I think they only got 1 shot on goal
Best football podcast, thanks guys, I just wish Gaz didn't touch his nose so much. To be fair he does it less now than before lol
Lineker being the first Brit who pronounced Gravenberch correctly.
Did micah say hoijland isnt quick hes rapid
23:37 To Micah: *CAL- HAN - KNOWLUU
Big up sheera always been fan his legend
Mo Salah has scored more Premier League goals for Liverpool than Alan Shearer scored for Newcastle. Let that sink in.
Think Shearer has confused Diaz and Gakpo here.
Micah is the natural successor to Gary when the time comes
that's what the England national team thought too back when they were still playing.. lmao
When he took office, Slot repeatedly explained why the team changes its way of playing during the match. They force the opponent to reveal their crucial tactics, after which they neutralize the opponent with position changes and attack the weak points.
But nobody pays attention, and chewing on the same old talking points.
There’s a player in hojlund. The dude just needs service. Hope he doesn’t get it though so Utd can stay in the mud 😂
The disrespect to Serie A is unreal
Ynwa fellas❤
Here's a thought, Gyokeres to Newcastle!
He I better than that. Arsenal should break the bank for him
That will never happen
Timestamps please, Gary 😢
Arsenal fans genuinely think they’re better than Liverpool🤣 a team that’s scoring goals for fun, and from open play. Not relying on set pieces and hoofing it to the big guy like the Crazy Gang Wimbledon side from the 80s, after £800m spent🤣
No, no. Pls, we're not at Arsenal's level. We're lucky, the ref is always on our side, we don't have injury problems like them. It's just good fortune that we're on top. After all they dominated us at home. 😅
I think inter put what they had , most of the players Micah listed were injured
haha was that a subconsciousslip with the "stop" in place of "top"??? hahahaha You cant stop Liverpool. lol
Can we call out the cheating by Real Madrid please? Everytime i watch them, Carvajal is doing the most. Vini jr squawking on the floor and now Bellingham holding his face when getting tapped on the shin. Our English players are some of the worst at it now. Grim sport.
I know you don't watch the games when you talking like that. Cavajal has been injuried for over a month, but nice try you troll.
@@FrankSamsi Although the rest of things are very true
@@matiasescobar8730 90% of footballers flop, it is to get an advantage give the other player a yellow card. The reason he talks like that is because he is a RM hater because they historically win a lot. Football players flop get over it.
@@FrankSamsi The problem is that Vinicius does it at the slightest opportunity, even when he is not touched, as he tried to do with the Milan goalkeeper.
@@matiasescobar8730 Everybody does it all the time, he plays for real madrid so you see it more, because everybody is watching Real Madrid. He is also along with Kylian the teams biggest star. Nothing new I see this every week in La liga by smaller teams and nobody cares. Because nobody cares about small teams.
9; same as Gordon at Newcastle, or Salah & Diaz at liverpool - yes they can all play CF, but you lose as much as you gain, if not more
Mica wouldn't get in to Anfield without running a gauntlet, no wonder he has no idea what the atmosphere on CL nights are like.
Haaland without KDB and Rodri is basically a Rickie Lambert.....
The Anfield atmosphere is still as good as ever. The fuck Michah on about man
These podcasts are so sincere and honest and humourous The Overlap is just full of egos. Don't like it at all. Keep up the great work.
diaz was in the middle of the attach
@@williamraymond8378 good shout, forgot about South American teams!
