The High Heat series was my preferred baseball game back in the early 2000s, so glad to see it getting some love. Missing those days when sports gamers actually had choices as consumers.
@@forthewin2644 gameplay was incredible. it may not look great today but back in the day it was the game for hardcore baseball fans. Stats were the best for any sports game back then too. It was like baseball heaven to play this.
Bonds didn't really disapear from official baseball videogames until after the 03 season. Him being absent starting in 04 makes sense. The strangest thing for me is to see players like Brian Dabauch, Shane Spencer, Kevin Millar, Frank Menechino, and Cory Lidle actually appear in games.
THIS-was a great Baseball video game…I used to play it for hours on season mode sitting on a bench seat in my bedroom pretending I was in the dugout! ⚾️
Found this in the bargain bin at a Gamestop about 10 years ago. Remember being actually surprised at how decent it was. Plus whenever you can play as Bonds its a major plus for me
I played hh2004 PC version. I used to make rosters, sliders, and tune files. I still say MLB the Show is built on hh 2004 code. Hh had a simulation slider so the user could dictate the amount of stats(simulation) applied to his gameplay
Yes, my favorite series ever. High Heat 1999-2004 on PC was heaven. OMG, the mods we had for these games. We could extract .txt files from the game and plug them onto a user created program and out came tons of organized data that rivaled Fan Graphs, even tracking hitting streaks.
As a huge sports fan and gamer I’m well versed in all of the baseball games on ps2 and while high heat’s menus had annoying quirks they have a purpose and work fine if you know how to use them. Other baseball series included all star , backyard, the bigs, World Series becoming 2k, mlb becoming mlb the show, power pros, slugfest and triple play becoming mvp. High heat was personally my least😅 favorite but it does play nicely.
I was around 14 years old and played this game a lot on the road with teammates from my travel baseball team in hotels lol a rod was still a shortstop so Jeter was not an allstar starter lol he switched to 3rd when he joined the Yankees. If I’m not mistaken square was advance and circle was retreat when base running. Also this was during the steroid era and the balls were juiced thus the inflated stats.
Got this game as a 'make-up' present in May 2003 after I threw a shit fit during my sister's birthday party. Hindsight has not been kind to it, but I played the hell out of it. Shannon Stewart and the Jays for life!
You are like my mom when she's trying to sign on to the wifi.. played this game back when it was new and it was awesome. You should check out pacman or pong maybe
Holy shit……I was thinking of this game a few days ago. Couldn’t remember the name, only how the disc looked. You just unlocked memories I forgot existed. Thank you 🥲
This game could be played in 15 min bec of the lack of animations - and that was a good thing because the animations didnt slow down the gameplay. The gameplay was the best at the time.
You should play the bigs 2.
Sluggfest too
Yesss
Best game ever made, even better on Wii
This aged like wine.
PSP version was soooooo good

I loved this series on pc, then it went bankrupt. For PC check out VR Baseball.

My memory is that the PC version of 02 was a huge franchise improvement over anything else. Then they just... stopped caring about it.
