An interesting topic to pick a relevant theme in Tolstoy seen today in our culture and including women's roles. Like the interest Tolstoy had for Beethoven's music to include in his writings.

Hi, I liked your video! I've just finished the book and want to know your opinion - do you think that Tolstoy was comparing music to marriage or love after hearing the sonata ?

Thanks! Well, I guess it makes sense. Perhaps he saw marriage as tragic enterprise hahaha. In my opinion, he must have had so many problems in regard to love and marriage that he couldn't help writing about it...

I love your voice. Good work on this video summary. Have you ever read the brothers Karamazov?

Thank you, Alisha! I'm willing to read it this year. Dostoevsky is my favorite author... His stories are so meaningful, aren't they? Reading his works really changed my life.

I started reading it and I agree. Dostoievski is better at writing confessions. He was a better psychologist I think.
I think the character who is confessig is a part of Tolstoy himself. He was quite depraved when young and gave his diary to his young wife. They had a troubled marriage and he was a very difficult man to live with.
