Good comparison show. The polyD is the best. Behringer should of put a sequencer in the monopoly. Big mistake. The monopoly is too clean compared to the D. That's why I never bought it. I think the monopoly cross osc section creates too much harshness to make it effective. The korg mono poly wasn't an amazing success when it came out to be honest. Sorry, but I find this really a strange video. These synthesizers are, and sound completely different, so what is the point of comparing them? Having an individual review of each of them fine, even in the same video but this one makes no sense to me. The monopoly has very specific features that the model D completely lacks so you are comparing apples with pears here. Very confusing.
Behringer are a terrible company that make terrible products and their knock offs are crap as well. Anyone that reviews their products still hasn't learned this, are not worth any views and that's why you only have 584 subscribers. Good luck with that though.
I disagree, we dont all have much money to spend on a real moog. I find Behringer a great company, also John is an underrated synth youtuber in my opinion.
this comment is so negative. I have plenty of these behringer synths and they are all fantastic in build quality and sound. They go on the used market for almost new prices and when behringer stops producibg some of them they went quickly above the new price. That sais it all.

Ni man. Love Monopoly but pdas are great on the Poly D but the last pad on Monopoly wow ! Do you also have as many problems with tuning the poly D as many complain ?
Thanks! No, i do it by ear with my e piano. One osc after another, after 10 min warmup
@@JohnTrasher Ok I hear everyone complaining. Anyway I preferred the Korg but the weak point that I was sorry that it doesn't have an external audio in for external audio while the moog does or am I wrong?
I like to pass digital things into analog circuits
@@manuelsirotti9340 not sure about the moog (i guess so) but the behringer has it
@@JohnTrasher
The beringher only has it on the poly D not on the Monopoly right?
@@manuelsirotti9340 yeah i mean the poly d... i did another Video with both of them where the monopoly sounds really nice, however i kept only the poly d
If you could have both of these or a Matrixbrute, what would you have?
Never owned the Matrixbrute. Its basically presets and 3 DCO vs no presets and 8 VCO. The mod Matrix on the Matrixbrute is superior ofc. I wanted a pure analog synth to understand what all this knobs actually do
@@JohnTrasher I think I prefer the tone of the Behringer synths. They sound more raw to my ears.
@@davecjd yeah, i use the poly D in my songs for my bass as well. Take a listen to the bassline in this Song if you like: ruclips.net/video/XcJKQArTaPM/видео.html
Thank you
Copyright claim right there!!! :)
Thanks for the video!
Very helpful
Amazing you can tweek the knobs to get them similar . Great and help and teaching
@@rockanthems thank you! Nice to hear!
@@JohnTrasher had the Monopoly for a couple weeks… Now I’m waiting on the Poly D … i have a 1978 Memorymoog !!! It’s fricking Stunning
Exactly what i was looking for , Unless my hearing is a lot worse from club Djing they sound pretty similar ?will end up with both sooner or later but didnt know which to get first.since the MonoPoly is on sale atm i think i will jump on it
PeaceFromOZ
Have fun! :)
Monopoly had no séquenceur and poly d yes. Exact?
Yes, only an arp function. But i use an external sequencer anyway
How did you get the organ sound in MonoPoly?
@@Elmomeroloco23 i think i used triangle waveform
Can you make some patches for the Poly D please?🥰 Btw thank you for this video!
thanks for your comments! i try to film my settings for every song i make. Did you settle for the Poly D?
What’s an arpReggiator?
Bad pronunciation. 😅
Guter Vergleich 😀, habe mir nämlich auch überlegt einen zu Kaufen, weiß nur nicht welchen, der Monopoly hat leider nur einen Arpeggiator
Also der Arp hat 3 Modi (up, down, up+down) und dann jeweils 1,2,alle Oktaven.
Dude, with these two synths you're all set
Yeah it pretty much started with the poly d for me.. now i am a few grands lighter.. 😅 #gas
Monopoly all the way for me... more exciting character imho
I think in a Indie Rock band or in a Similar Context the Monopoly will sound better in the mix. The poly D is too strong.
For sure! I mostly use moog bass for low end or mixes that are bass heavy and most of high mid instruments. The Monopoly is a good pad and good rhythm synth. Without killing all your headroom in a mix. Def good in a band context for synth pop/indie stuff.
what can the monopoly do the POLY D can't Do?
One more lfo, variable pulsewidht, mutual detune of the OSCs, "FM modulation" (kind of)
@@JohnTrasher so it's the more versatile of the two? which has the fatter, big bass?
@@levijessegonzalez3629 you can watch this video of mine, where i made a little jam together with both: ruclips.net/video/Pso0t1W4Zn4/видео.html
I would say, monopoly is a little more versatile , but the feedback + distortion in the poly d create fatter basses
I'm a self-admited Korg fan-boy. The model D runs away with this hands down. Not even close.
Runs away?
❤
Please calibrate the monopoly filter! What a comparison. Thats not really ok i think. Sorry.
This video was shot over a year ago 3 days after the monopoly was released. Back then it was unknown that the filter offset was so harsh.
SYNTHPUNK sent me here. 😎
haha which video? isnt he hating all the behringer stuff?
@@JohnTrasher yes John, he's "trashing" all the Behringer stuff. 😉🤣
Vs DJ. Pauly D
😁
Good comparison show. The polyD is the best. Behringer should of put a sequencer in the monopoly. Big mistake. The monopoly is too clean compared to the D. That's why I never bought it. I think the monopoly cross osc section creates too much harshness to make it effective. The korg mono poly wasn't an amazing success when it came out to be honest. I think it is over rated and you quickly bore of it. Behringer need to get the proper polys out not pretend polys. For all the hype they create. They still have only ever produced one poly too date after many years. What a Shame really it disappoints me.
Its the chorus and inbuild distortion that make the nice sound. The harshness is tweakable with the filter offset screw i think
Worst subtitles ever :-)
Haha yeah but for automatic they are pretty close! 😅
wow two synths and wasted money
when you want to sell them nobody will buy it
it's like selling a Seat or a VW
This is not true...
Synth snob detected!
Well, same size, same prize, 4 osc paraphonie...
if you dont know which one to buy. .
Behringer are a terrible company that make terrible products and their knock offs are crap as well. Anyone that reviews their products still hasn't learned this, are not worth any views and that's why you only have 584 subscribers. Good luck with that though.
I had like 50 when i uploaded this, its fine I guess
I disagree, we dont all have much money to spend on a real moog. I find Behringer a great company, also John is an underrated synth youtuber in my opinion.
this comment is so negative. I have plenty of these behringer synths and they are all fantastic in build quality and sound. They go on the used market for almost new prices and when behringer stops producibg some of them they went quickly above the new price. That sais it all.
They upped their game. You are out of the loop with your old opinion.
