I also discovered this wonderful piece of music on Nuri Bilge Ceylan's movie called İklimler (Climates) so many years ago. I think your interpretation is one of the best out there. Much slower than usual and it brings much more melancholy to itself. Brilliant!
That.... was gorgeous. So melancholic and beautifully haunting! The pacing was wonderful and your skills were incredible! Thank you so much for playing this so masterfully!
This is a beautiful piece. When I close my eyes while listening to this, it takes me to a lovely faraway land... a dreamy mystical place where one wishes they could live & stay in forever. (: Oh, the magic of music.
this is definitely one of the best interpretations of this sonata. some people argue that it has to be played a little faster, but I prefer your version.
I've never heard this played so slowly! A bit of a revelation. Is it too slow? Well, yeah. It's Andante moderato, which probably was a bit faster than this on instruments in Scarlatti's time, though frankly not as fast as Horowitz always took it. This feels more like Adagio. Still, a thoughtful performance.
You have a lovely touch and project profound sadness. I do wish you would not hesitate and stretch out phrases so much, but I'd rather it that way than a straight forward approach. "Don't gilt the lily" my teacher use to say.
most peices of this time were supposed to be fast because the instruments in those days simply couldn't sustain the notes, Now with our technology in music improved, Peices like this should be played slower, i think sometimes even in the composers minds they must have wanted it slower, in some cases at least. Well done! =]
I think this sonata should be played a bit slower than Horowitz, maybe not to that extent. My favourite in this sonata is Dubravka Tomsic, I have seen it on RUclips.
I think the speed is lovely but the rhythm has gone (it basically becomes a romantic piece, not that I dislike that). For comparison, try to get a hold of Colin Tilney's rendition.
don't tske it personslly but you sound like a pianist who heard an incorrect version of this and then perfectly copied it and then added so much expression that you practically drowned it. (Note: this is not an insult ,well at least it is not intended to be) (IT IS JUST MY OPINION)
Nuri Bilge Ceylan olmasa böyle eserlerden haberim olmayacak.
Buraya gelen adam, kaliteli adamdır
this Sonata is used as the main theme in the movie Iklimler by Nuri Ceylan

And obviously, very well played. I appreciate for the score you furnishes by the link. I haven't had that score yet.
l'expression "la musique adoucit les moeurs" prend ici tout son sens!! C'est beau et apaisant!!
Congratulations! A wonderful interpretation indeed - played with real insight and conviction
This makes me cry :'((( so beautiful!!!

@Noahedwinbeach2 thank you! alot of young musicians speed through a lot of pieces that would better emote with a lowering of the tempo.

Es una Sonata muy Delicada.
A me piace come suoni 🙂
E mi piace Scarlatti (molto)
Hello, I'm trying to find out when was this piece written? Googled but no luck. Anyone knows the date?

Does anyone know how to burn this song onto a CD?
I think the Unpleasant Sonata version by Igorrr is best.

Çok yaşa Engin Ardıç. Bağımsız aday ol, oyum sana!
it is too romantic for D. Scarlatti, but it's honest.
:)

as usual , play so well
