If you're wondering about Voyeurist, I'd either put it at A or bump up LITSOS and put it at B above Disambiguation. Review here: ruclips.net/video/Ye-DaIq3gqg/видео.html

My ranking would be your entire list flipped upside down with Disambiguation and Define the great line brought up to A tier, Chasing safety brought up to C, and Erase me again in D. Maybe Acts Of Depression in B as well. Cries of the past is one of the greatest pieces of heavy music ever written.

LITSOS’s journey throughout the track list felt better to me than DTGL. The drums during the midsection on Emergency Broadcast blew my mind when hearing it for the first time. 2008 was also the first chance I got to see UO in concert. It was incredible. From TOCS on is a solid discography. Love the vid ✌️

S Tier: Ø (Disambiguation); Define The Great Line
A Tier: Lost In The Sound of Separation
B Tier: They’re Only Chasing Safety
    C Tier: Erase Me
D Tier: all of the old stuff with Dallas
God I could go on and on about how much Ø (Disambiguation) means to me and how fucking insane Daniel’s drumming is on it or how sludgy the guitar tone is. Underoath crafted legitimately crushing songs about addiction and apocalypse all led by easily Spencer’s best ever vocal performance. His vocals go from pained and desperate one moment to guttural and massive the next. Probably a very hot take, but I actually prefer his singing on it to any singing from Aaron on other records (yes I know that’s basically sacrilege lol). It’s a record that feels so much bigger than it probably actually is.
Define The Great Line is my second favorite album by the band. All of the songs on this record feel incredibly personal and moving, with there being some sort of amazing hook (be it vocally or instrumentally) in every song. Again, Underoath were able to craft songs that felt way larger than they actually were.
LItSoS was my favorite record from the band back when I first heard it, but it’s kind of fallen slightly out of favor with me over the past two or so years. There are still some incredible songs on this album (Emergency Broadcast, Too Bright Too See, A Fault Line, etc etc) but I just don’t think it holds my attention quite like the DTG or Ø do. I think the drum sound on the album is way too overproduced as well. It sounds like Aaron is playing an AK47 more than a drum kit at times lol
They’re Only Chasing Safety was actually the record that got me into the band back when I was in high school. This was well after the band had broken up and right before the reunion I believe. I still think this record is a ton of fun, but idk it’s maybe just a little too emo/pop punk for my tastes nowadays. I still like it, but it’s never the Underoath or even post-hardcore record that I reach for first.
Erase Me just ain’t it. I was so insanely excited when the band announced it, and I’m with you that some of the songs are great (On My Teeth, It Has To Start Somewhere, I Gave Up, No Frame), but some of the tracks were just massive butt-rock misses for me. I think my biggest issue with Erase Me is the production though; it’s just so paper thin sounding. The guitars are barely even a light buzz and the vocals are all kinds of weird sounding compared to their other stuff. I’ve seen them live twice since this record dropped, and although again I’m not a fan of the softer tracks on the record, they sound drastically better live than on the record which is baffling. Hopefully they’ll go back to Matt Gold for future records.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk lmao

I'm very high on all their albums, I really don't think they've made any "bad" albums. You mentioned physical music when speaking about LITSOS, and I'm sure most who watched this also used to experience music that way. And to me UO was one of the best if not the best at arranging an enjoyable album during the 2000s. I'd give them a pass for Erase Me because it was 7-10 years removed from writing and having Aaron back, and for other bands/artists it would be considered a successful album, but not for UO who set the bar very high.
I'd be a little different on my rankings but enjoyed your list. I will say TOCS has held up incredibly well, probably more so to me than DTGL and LITSOS, which I think are better albums front to back...but the playback value on TOCS is up there with any album for me. I feel like I need to give Disambiguation a real chance because it came out at a time when I wasn't really feeling the scene, although from memory I do think the drummer was awesome and at times was an upgrade over Aaron. Erase Me is what it is...I wish it was better and I think there's probably 4-5 songs that actually will have long term playback appeal for me (and most) but the majority of the album and the structure of it was just not good.
Honestly I wouldn't have even ranked Act of Depression or Cries of the Past, so for me where that falls on the list isn't that important.

    A - none (Voyeruist, maybe S)
