Good to hear your thoughts on the albums Josh. Those 00s albums were pretty decent from what I remember but for whatever reason I didn't really get into the band or get any albums for my collection. The last one I remember listening to in full was the 2011 one. I think I probably should go and give them another go.
Cheers for watching Grant, I'm glad you enjoyed the video mate. Yeah, the 2000's albums are fantastic, defitneily their most raw and aggressive sounding. Ahh ok that's fair enough, interesting. I feel like this band you really need to spend some time with, multiple listens bring high reward. That's fair enough man, The hunter is a decent album but I prefer the other ones. You definitely should give them another go man, and I hope you like them more this time 😊🤘
Great job on the ranking man. Another discography that is very tough to Rank. I can’t remember how mine went, although it was still tough to do. Nothing like the ranking last night.
Cheers for watching Trev! I'm glad you liked my ranking, yeah it was very difficult indeed! I didn't know where to put everything but I'm happy with it. They're an awesome band nonetheless. That's fair enough man, I can imagine it was difficult. And the one last night, that was a great stream. I'll have to check out High on Fire. Cheers man 😊🤘
Love Mastodon. My 4th ranked favorite metal band of all time. S Tier Leviathan 🐋 Blood Mountain 🌋 Crack the Skye 🌌 A Tier Remission 🐴 Emperor of Sand 🏜 Hushed & Grim 🐺 B Tier Call of the Mastodon 🐘 Once More 'Round the Sun ☀️ The Hunter 🫎 Excellent list. I couldn't agree more.
Cheers for watching! Ah nice that's awesome, yeah they've definitely grown to be one of my favourite Metal bands too. Great list, very similar to mine. Haven't listened to Call of the Mastodon but I have the album. Glad you liked my list, cheers! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great ranking! Finally, someone with a list very close to mine. I agree, Leviathan is #1. That album is fantastic and I really wish they would have stuck with that style. It was perfect. However, they got too commercial sounding later and I lost interest. I still go back to Leviathan or Blood Mountain occasionally, though. 1. Leviathan 2. Blood Mountain 3. Emperor of Sand 4. Remission 5. Crack the Skye 6. Once More Round the Sun 7. The Hunter 8. Hushed & Grim
Cheers for watching Dave! I'm glad you liked my ranking. Yeah, Leviathan is my favourite, it's just perfect as you say! I'm glad you agree there. That's fair enough man, I can understand fans of the older stuff not being into the newer stuff. Because I heard it all at the same time, I'm OK with both eras of the band, it doesn't bother me as much. Nice ranking yourself, not too dissimilar to mine! It makes sense the first 4 are your top 4. Nice one, cheers! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great ranking Josh. Good to find someone else who rates Blood Mountain v high! And I liked your track shoutouts for the deeper cuts - I love Had it all from H&G and Diamond in the Witch House from OMRTS
Cheers for watching Tom! I'm glad you enjoyed it mate. Ah nice, yeah I think Blood mountain is fantastic, has loads of amazing songs on it. Thanks man, ah that's awesome! Had it all is a great one, I love the middle part when it goes Soundgarden. And Diamond in the witch house is another fantastic closer by them, one of my favourites I must say. Cheers man 😊🤘
Cheers for watching! I'm glad you liked my ranking. Ahh, that's cool you're a big fan of Remission! That's fair enough, I think I just felt like they refined those longer songs on later albums, but still plenty for me to enjoy here. Nice one! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
@Magnumscrotus Ah ok that's cool. Ah nice, that's fair enough. Yeah there is a certain eerie sound to some of the songs, mostly the longer songs. I think the problem I had was they tried to make the songs longer and they didn't need to be. But I totally get why you like them 🤘🏻
Cheers for watching Steve! Yeah you should check them out they're an awesome band. Ah nice that's cool, they have a rich catalogue of great songs. I'd say start with either Leviathan or Blood mountain, they're a great mix of heavy rawness and the progressive stuff seeping in. As you like progressive music I think you'll enjoy all their stuff. But that's the place to start I think. Yeah, all their album art is really cool, very unique and interesting. Cheers man 😊🤘
Good to hear your thoughts on Mastodon in this excellent video. I'm one of those disgusting hipsters that only like their early output and dropped off after 'Crack the Skye' :D
Cheers for watching Kim! I'm glad you enjoyed the video mate, that means a lot. I've never properly talked about Mastodon in a video so it was nice to finally do that. Haha, that's fair enough man, a lot of people are the same. I like all their albums, but the early ones are my favourite. If you wanna try one of their new ones I'd go with Emperor of sand, it's amazing! I can't stop playing it! Cheers 😊🤘
Cheers for watching Kris! I'm glad you enjoyed the video mate, and my ranking. Yeah it's so hard, because I actually like all of them a lot. Even The Hunter, which at first I didn't like, this time I thought it was alright! Very hard, but I'm happy with my ranking. Cheers man 😊🤘
Hi Josh!!! great ranking and glad to hear your thoughts about them and their studio albums..... i will have to listen to them again, maybe because when i listen to them didn't click with me, it was the same period when i listen for the first time the band High on Fire and the mix of prog/heavy wasn't what i was looking for. cheers and be well
Hi Cristian, cheers for watching man! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and hearing my thoughts on the band's discography. Yeah definitely give them another try, I think Mastodon are a band that needs a couple of listens to fully understand their sound. And now I really enjoy them. That's fair enough man, if you wasn't in the right frame of mind to understand that's fine. High on Fire are a band I wanna check out, after seeing the stream on Friday. But yeah, check out Mastodon again and I hope you get on better this time. Cheers man, you too 😊🤘

Glad remission got so high on your list even tho i actually like the longer more atmospheric songs on that album. I think id put it 4th as well.

@@JoshKeech i actually agree i just really like the sort of gothy atmosphere on that album and thats usually on the longer songs.
@Magnumscrotus Ah ok that's cool. Ah nice, that's fair enough. Yeah there is a certain eerie sound to some of the songs, mostly the longer songs. I think the problem I had was they tried to make the songs longer and they didn't need to be. But I totally get why you like them 🤘🏻
I will have to look this band up, I have heard a few songs by them. Album art on these are very cool.

Great vid mate & good ranking 👍 Like you say, so difficult to rank when it’s all decent 🤘
