    Erotic Cakes is a masterpiece. It’s the pinnacle of fusion guitar creativity and precision. The only other album that comes close in the genre is Powers Of Ten by Shawn Lane. This whole masterclass was eye opening

    I've had the privilege of meeting Guthrie on multiple occasions, he's such a great guy, really willing to share his knowledge of guitar technique and ability. Great video!

    I was given a lesson by Andy James once and he told me Guthrie was better than all other guitarists he has seen, and yes, I did say 'even Gilbert, even Vai'.

    Honestly the string dampener is the biggest part of making tapping parts work. There is a technique to making strings ring less but it helps so much.

      basic does not mean simple or easy... Its a base of a certain technique and if the technique is difficult then the base will also be pretty difficult

    pretty good stuff. But if you go back the tapping stuff from the "Sheehan" solo from the "sink your teeth into that" by Talas, Billy sheehan does this idea. He holds the chord with the left, but simply taps all with the index finger. He can't get the staccato effect, but very close to the same idea.
