wan-née bpen wan aa-tít láe bpen wan-yùd kǎwng pǒm/chán วันนี้เป็นวันอาทิตย์และเป็นวันหยุดของผม/ฉัน Today is Sunday and it is my day off.
dtàe gâw mee lǎai yàang têe pǒm/chán jà dtâwng tam nai wan-née แต่ก็มีหลายอย่างที่ผม/ฉันจะต้องทำในวันนี้ But there are many things that I have to do today.
chên tam kwaam sà-àad bâan ság-pâa rêed-pâa เช่น ทำความสะอาดบ้าน ซักผ้า รีดผ้า Such as cleaning the house, washing clothes, ironing clothes.
láe bpai súe kǎwng têe Makro และไปซื้อของที่แมคโคร And go buy things at Makro.

But dear Kru Jack, could you please double check your spelling 🙏. For us it's very confusing when you spell the same word in different ways. Eg kaawng/kawng and dtawng/twang and pon la mai was spelt pon la l'ai. For English speakers they look like completely different words.

Soo confusing to me because you are saying “Today is day Sunday and to be day stop off me.” 🤯
An accurate literal translation would be "Today is Sunday and is day-stop (the Thai expression of a non-working day or holiday) of mine". In English the verb "to be" takes many forms such as: I am ..., Today is ..., You are, which all are examples of applying the verb "to be". The occurrence of "to be" in its pure form is somewhat exceptional so people leaning English must get confused as to why "to be" = "am" = "is" = "are" ... depending on the sentence. Then we also have to accept that every language has its own unique expressions and we should not try to correlate it word-for-word with our own language. If we do this it would create a sentence in that language which may even be grammatically correct but would sound "wrong" to them. Just like the literal translation of this sentence doesn't sound like the best way to say it in English. It is the MEANING that counts rather than the forcing of our grammar rules on the other language. I have learned three languages so far and in every case have had to learn how they express the meaning and simply copy it. Even the greeting "sawat-dee" does not equal "hello" and vice versa. Instead the greeting equates with "it is good" or "it is happy" and means to convey the meaning "may goodness / good health / happiness be unto you".
