Well, going to give this a try; I've been collecting Joes for a long time, learned how to flock using a nice German brand air bottle, and now I've been thinking about touching up Joes, and working on dioramas. Thanks for this!
Nice job brother, I wish your camera would have stayed in focus a little better bc I couldn't see some of the more important parts of your paint job on the eyebrows, but I love the job you did, I've been wanting to start collecting these GI Joes as well & figured I would have to do some repairs like this too
I remember having what you call GI Joe( we called Action Man in England) in the 1970s, he was a pilot and I remember pestering my mom to buy him, even though she never had the money at the time. He was quite expensive at the time, and my mom had to buy him on a layaway- split into payments. I wish could have kept him now, along side my Six Million dollar man, Oscar Goldman and Maskertron dolls. He was the only Action man that I owned because they were quite expensive action figures to own at the time. Some of the Action men had eagle eyes that could turned from left to right but I’m not a fan of the later Action men that have moulded hair and eyes that remain stationary. I bought an Action man in the 1990s, A black Action man who was a boxer, Palitoy’s first ever black Action man at the time. I made a huge mistake of giving that particular Action man to a bunch of kids who demolished him. I bitterly regret giving him away as he was so rare, now looking back. Have you ever seen this particular Action man/GI Joe? You brought back so many wonderful memories of growing up in the late 1970s and playing with Action men/ GI Joes. Thank you.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your memories 👍. Yeah the boxer figure you've described is one I didn't have as a kid. A neighborhood buddy had one and I picked one up off eBay a few years ago. Take a look around my channel at some of the other episodes, you might spot some more childhood favorites. Thanks for watching 🙌
@@ToyTinkerTim I will and I’m going to even subscribe to your channel. By the way, I have few action figures but the paint is peeling off and some of the colours are off. Are there any channels that you can recommend that specialise in modifications and repaints for beginners? Thanks in advance.
Some collectors prefer their figures in the rough (scuffed, grungy, played with). If a person can touch up their figure(s) in a careful manner that does not exceed it's original look it should only really maintain the value of a figure (like maintaining a vehicle, house, etc.).
Great video
What brand of paint did you used?
1964/1976
The acrylic paint brand I used in this episode is by Liquitex, from their 'Basics' line of paints.
Thanks for watching Jesse!

Any tips on how to retouch the “life like hair” my air adventure joe is pretty rough
Thanks for the question David, I literally ordered flocking over the weekend. You can expect it in a future episode.
@@ToyTinkerTim oh sweet! Definitely looking forward to that video, Cheers mate! 🍻
1964 black hair, what paint do I use?
Why type of paint, enamel or acrylic, or can you use either?
I use acrylic because it's forgiving and fast drying, it's what works for me.
What type of brush did you use?
Hello Jeff - I used a #5 round tip natural brush, short handle. Use what you're comfortable with though - thanks for checking out the video!
Does it reduce value of Joe?

If you want to restore a Joe, then No, it does not distract. But if you want originality, yes it does.
Can I have your address I really want that joe
Rinrada Wongsuwan there are tons on ebay
