    👍🏼 I like small fixed blades. Very handy, useful, concealable and easily manipulated. I don’t usually wear them on my neck. I prefer horizontal belt carry.
    That coldsteel spike sheath; you mite can heat up the sheath just at the retention point and squeeze it onto the knife.
    Boiling water might do it or a small torch lighter.

    I am a bit troubled by the use of paracord around the neck...even with a plastic stopper, the cord can bunch up and get stuck with a quick pull leaving you very vulnerable to getting choked or jerked around in a self defence situation. I've seen people tying knots in the end to keep it from pulling out of the stopper which is also dangerous. Get a breakaway chain and practice using your thumb for quick release instead of relying on the cord to aid your pulling. If I see that cord in a fight, I'm going for it and swinging behind you on it. I've also slid and tumbled down many muddy, densely forested slopes and would not want that to snag a branch on the way down.

    Interesting overview! Thank you! Got me thinking!
    The only time I wear a neckknife is when I'm hiking or bushcrafting in the winter and my clothing makes accessing a belt knife very cumbersome. I EDC a Fällkniven U2.
    My neckknives mostly hang tip down, I don't trust most sheaths 😢.

    Well done. I’m a professional hand sharpener… no wheels, belts. or other machines. CRKT and ESSE are the two best brands on this review. I wish these mini knives came with a scout carry sheath.

    That No Bother looks nice. I absolutely agree with you on the sheath. I guess the aim was to accommodate everyone. But the dermal idea is better than the way it comes. Thanks for the video.

    Nice selection! CRKT Minimalis comes with a belt loop and I love to carry this way - and I put zip ties in another's neck knifes to use then in the belt!
    I think you are using the Broker Plus MA2 wrong - you should put just the index Inger in the first hole and the others fingers just grab the handle! It's the same model of the Silent Soldier or the SOG Snarl.

    If your really interested in a great neck knife. My absolute favorite is Utica utkn2. It’s like a esee izula with a better grind and comes with G10 grip. It my most carried fixed blade. Utica is a very old American company. My other small knife I carry is the mini Pendleton hunter. I paid the same for both. The last time I saw the Utica it was $48, still a absolute deal it also comes in kydex not the cheap injection molded plastic like others.

    I haven't looked but got awhile the D2 Minimalist was available for less than $30, which is excellent especially when the blade is coated because I sweat a lot sand live in southeast Florida very close to the beach

    My fixed-blade neck knives are a Cold Steel Tokyo Spike, a CRKT Obake, a CRKT SPEW, and a Buck small Diamondback (no longer produced). I also sometimes wear a Benchmade Gryptillion folder and a Gerber Stud Gator folder in a neck carry pouch.

    Something I come to enjoy is the QSP Canary in 14C28N steel... I find the steel to hold up against rust and my sweat in particular😂.. it's a drop point and I'm more prefer sheep foot type for utility purposes, but I find this one to best in class for it's price... I've edc it for almost a year now and sharpen did a view times with my work Sharp Field tool sharpener and takes a Edge very well & easily... anyway I thought I would give you a heads up on this product that I use... I was checking out your channel seeing if I can find something more Pokey style for self-protection.. Like the bird knife, just not the materials... 🗡️😎✌️

    I can't understand why you need a neck knife if you already have a folding knife with a clip so you can attach it to your belt or pocket. Neck knife dangles on your neck. That's not reliable to pull out in an emergency situation. The only good thing is that it's a fixed blade, nothing else. Folding knife with a good locking mechanism is better to own.

    • @pacovl46
      @pacovl46 10 месяцев назад +5

      First of all, no folding knife will ever be better than a proper fixed blade knife.
      Secondly, you can always get a sheath made for your neck knife and wear it on your belt, if it doesn’t have one already that allows for belt carry.

      @@pacovl46 neck knives are tiny fixed blade for tiny children. proper fixed blades are like a Rambo knife, for a real man.

    • @pacovl46
      @pacovl46 10 месяцев назад +4

      @koningklootzak7788 it will, in most cases, still be stronger than a folder if the blade thickness is adequate.
      Also, a longer blade doesn't make you a man, no matter how hard you want to believe that. And someone who knows what he's doing will outperform you and your Rambo knife even with a tiny necknife because it's your skills that make you capable, not your knife.
      Having said that, neck knives obviously can't replace a proper full sized knife, but they're not meant to either. They're a little tool for little tasks.
      A small knife right up my alley would be the Talon from 3 River Blades. Compact, but extremely capable and that one will outperform any folder of similar size or slightly larger. It's also way quicker to get a fixed blade out of its sheath than a folder out of your pocket and flicked open!
