    Ohtani: Hey, Artie. Trade me.
Moreno: No, Shohei! Please stay! We want you here!
Ohtani: Yes. That's why you should trade me.
    Moreno: What do you mean?!
Ohtani: Trade me for a couple of solid MLB pitchers, a position player, and young prospects.
    Moreno: ....tell me more
Ohtani: I'll be gone for a few months. When the season is over, I'll resign with the Angels. You'll end up getting something for nothing.
Moreno: You are a genius, Shohei!!
Ohtani: I'm a THREE-way player: pitcher, DH, and GM.

Why would he take something shorter term, when he can just get the long-term deal, and add an opt-out to the deal? I don't think people understand that the teams will have zero say in this. Shohei will tell the Dodgers what he wants, and they will say "yes." If they refuse, he will tell the Mets, and the Dodgers will already be on the phone to apologize.

Ohtani has all the leverage. If someone does that then another team will call Ohtanis agent real quick and gives him what he wants

A trade for Ohtani requires 2 top pitching prospects, 2 top hitting prospects, and throw in 2 MLB players worth 1.5 WAR each
