This #MomentsinMedicine feature is WNH's cardiac rehabilitation program, HeartMenders, which has served patients across south-central Kansas since 1986.
HeartMenders is a medically-supervised exercise program with education concerning coronary artery disease, heart-healthy diets, aerobic exercises, medication, smoking cessation, and stress management in a controlled, monitored environment. Ongoing, low-cost participation and monitoring are available.
"HeartMenders has a wonderful reputation in this part of the state. It's as good as any service you can find, anywhere. The staff is great, and the camaraderie with the other patients has been wonderful," says HeartMenders client Dick Vaught.
