- There is a cheese hiding in each level of Perfect Dark, this video shows all of their locations.
Apparently finding those cheeses would unlock cheat codes but Rare decided to use a "beat levels fast" method instead, and they let the cheeses as an easter egg.

I wish we had Goldeneye to play on Xbox like we do Perfect Dark. Then the nostalgia goggles would come off and people would see what was there in 2000. Goldeneye was amazing but Perfect Dark was even more.
All day, you can really tell a lot about a person based off of that. There are two types of people in this world.

Its the highest meta-critic FPS game of all time.
this is a very important video. I remember getting perfect dark on n64 for christmas one year. I spent so much time playing that week. I remember how impressed i was with the different AI in multiplayer. This game is so iconic. The music the characters... Damn might fire up the emulator and play through. hahaha.
You can find the Carrington cheese in the main hub area as well. First, take floating box from the hanger to the firing range and prop open the first door. Then, force the firing range door to stay open with your body. Then select the Slayer rocket launcher. You can fire and guided rocket out of the door, thru the basement area, then up thru the open hanger into the front where you can find the same cheese
I feel blessed having played this game in my youth. Nowadays games aren’t the same anymore.
Hold up.... you can blow that vent up? And shut the front door.... there are hidden cheeses? I must have put over 1000 hours into this as a teenager. The depth of this game my god.

I knew about the cheese as a kid only because I read about them in a game informer magazine. I think in total I only managed to find 5 or 6 of them.

Wow, I had no idea there was some sort of hotel or conference area in the Chicago level.
it's a strip club... and its home of the legendary Chicago Ghost, an invisible entity that instant kills you with a crossbow, if it exists that is.
Oh that's interesting on the first level. I actually came across it as I fell thru the top of the open door off the helipad from the roof, kinda like a wall glitch
Back in the day when we wanted to cheese a level or a boss it meant something else entirely from today’s standard of cheesing lol

I would think it had something to do with an inside joke. Like maybe one of the devs showed up eating a whole ass block of cheese or something 🤔 and they would roast him on it. Then they all eventually tried it and fell in love with the cheese 🧀
They talked about it in the Rare Replay dev commentary. At one point while one of the graphic artists was working on textures, another dev mentioned that the texture they were making looked like cheese, so as a joke they went and hid cheese in every level
you did miss one in Carrington at the main level also. Look at the logo when you walk down to the hangar. it is hard to se. But in the PD logo there is NOT an arrow it is a cheese.

It blows my mind that I knew all of the cheese locations but one... and it was the one inside the Air Force One. How come I never saw it if it was in plain sight? 🤣
How did you get the Phoenix in the first level?
The only way to get any weapon besides the ones available in each level (including the secret cache ones) is through cheats
One and third are the same cheese!

And what's the purpose of it?
Short answer: they have no known purpose, it's just a little fun bonus.
I read somewhere that players were supose to find them in order to unlock cheat codes then the developers change their mind midway for the actual method(beating levels in time limit), they let the cheeses for as a bonus.

@@DarkOcelot7 This got explained in Rare Revealed. The cheeses are there simply because Joanna's VA pointed out that one of the blocks in the Air Force One level looked like a block of cheese so they decided to slap it into every level as an inside joke. I suggest looking up the videos here on YT, they're pretty interesting.
