- In this Fishing Challenge, we search through WISH with a budget of $25! All supplies had to be purchased within the $25 budget (rod, reel, etc). We then take our new gear out to the water and see if we can catch some fish!

CalvinX11 well I can tell u his rod an reel is about 60, we have the same setup lol. But the ugly stik gx2 alone is 40 and I got a brand new combo for 15 lol. I switched the reel to the good old daiwa lol so basically his prob costed more than mine for the same setup but as far as I know it costed me 60

little tip you probably already know: don't reel against the drag. It'll cause line twists and doesn't actually do anything

Handy tip in case you didn't know, place the can flat on concrete and then rub it vigorously back and forth. It will run down the aluminum so you can just pop the top off, be careful it might be Sharp

Should invest in a spomb or a spod, excellent for baiting an area far from shore, even better than a slingshot. Essential tool for European style carp fisherman. If you were able to put in a little effort for carp baiting, you could easily land some bigger fish than that one. If done right, you can have several dozen fish in one small session.

i’m a carp angler from the UK. if you’re wanting to look into carp fishing do it there is so much to learn about it and you would have more fun learning and trying to catch them than you think and i would have said it weighed about 7-8lbs
I actually use the same pole for salmon fishing in Northern NY during the fall salmon runs. Eyelets come loose from time to time but the pole actually does a great job! 15 + pounds per salmon

I had 2 of these rods, both snapped after like a few months. And both snapped while hooking a fish with not much force used. They feel nice first, but they are fragile.

Actually yes. The rod and reel has held up better than any rod I bought from Walmart or dicks sporting goods. Plus I can fit it in my tackle bag.
9:28, makes sense. Tightening the drag and horsing in a fish is no fun, and at the same time you could risk it snapping off. Letting it take drag helps sometimes. Happy xmas, dude!

Any of those assorted fishing kit are perfect to keep in you car or truck. Dont sleep on them lol. I had an amazing topwater popper that just needed better hooks. To sayve time. That popper is in a tree lol

I bought one on them cheep rod reel combos, spent a little more though. not that horrible good to keep in the back seat.
for chumming with the corn you should try to get one of those things that you throw tennis balls with for dogs
The catfish was a black bullhead catfish. You can tell by the rounded tail that it's a bullhead. The black whiskers on the bottom tell you its a black bullhead. Yellow bullhead have white whiskers all around

I bought a bait casting rod and reel (not as a combo) from wish and the same company that made the rod you got made mine too. However, the first time I used my rod it snapped at the tip after I hooked into a 1.5 pound bass. The reel is fine though.

Nice catch! Those Sougayilang reels are not Saltwater rated. They’ll rust to crap. I stripped it and regreased with marine grease. Otherwise, I’ve got one of their telescopic rods which is pretty nice. I’m in Cali shore fishing.

When you do this challenges at the end of the video you should rate the pole and gear you got on like a scale of 10

One day, break out to Florida and go for tarpon. My vision quest was a 140 lbs. it fought like a 140 lbs. striped bass for 1:15. No kidding. You have to try it. I have a pic posing, but can’t post it here. You need to try that out.

lmfao this is a funny video cause i been a victim of wish fishing products ...so when i saw ur excitement i was lmfao
carp use to be one of the premier sporting fish up until the industrial revolution. we started to dump into the lakes and rivers and carp being a sturdy fish were one of the few to survive. to this day, else where in the world carp are still considered an incredible sporting fish, and as you found out, put up a great fight. they are supposedly a very tasty fish too.

I caught a 20 pound carp on my 6ft medium light ugly stik gx2 and got a state plaque certification for it.
Wish is awesome. I always order random cheap lures from it. They have alot of carp stuff that is popular in asia but not sold in US. Sougayilang seems to be a popular Chinese fishing company that probably manufactures a lot of the name brand stuff too behind the scenes. I have a bunch of their telescopic rods and 1 of their reels and they have all been solid. Also, super cheap so I never expected much.
Carp are awesome. That one looked to be about 6-7 lbs I would say.

brokebloke Lots of people buy the pre tied hooks, slide the loop through the swivel then the hook through the loop and pull it tight.

next time you go fishing with corn take an unhooking mat in the netherlands its needed if you dont have it you get fined ;) please take care off the carp dont throw them on the grass

Nice that you got out and caught a few. I landed a small bluegill via fly rod like 2 days ago. The stuff on wish was never really listed at the higher prices, that are marked off. That is nothing more than a gimmick to get you to buy stuff. The things on there are the same cheap things found on ebay and amazon. Not saying that the products are bad quality either. I love me some them cheap little brightly colored spoons, that come in multiple piece lots on ebay and amazon, and bulk 50 packs of spoon blanks for 6.99$-7.99$ I found on those sites too. I've also got some nice hooks I ordered on ebay from china, that are good razor sharp quality. I think you should try a cheap chinese spoon challenge sometime, and get a 5 piece lot or 12 piece lot of different colored spoons. So far I've caught bass, bluegills, yellow perch, and chain pickerel on the spoons. Months ago I ordered over 60 of them in various style and numbered lots, for 13$ and change lol. I fit nearly all of them into a box that a 12 piece lot came in. Just condensed them all.
