I used to love these catalogs as a kid. I remember ordering my Sega CD from a JC Penny catalog back when the bottom loader version was first released. I mean back before the internet this is how we were able to see everything out along with gaming magazines. Such memories dude
It is stupid how much I wanted that horrid TMNT "tiger electronics-like" game, and I didn't care how garbo it was, I loved the TMNT that much, and still do lol
I remember this exact issue and carefully extracting the page with a link to the past and carrying it with me everywhere. That fateful Christmas day my mom got me a snes with a link to the past! Best Christmas ever!
I think that Teenage Turtles is before they get mutated, so you just wander around a fish bowl for 6 hours, and the ending of the game is you get oozed and that's the end.
I got my Game Gear for Christmas in '92. I also had Bart vs. the Space Mutants for it, and it's just as bad as the NES and Genesis versions. The other games that I got were good though. I'm pretty sure my parents bought it at Toys R Us, and not Sears or Penny's.
It's always been something of a mystery to me how video games have, for as long as I can remember, been around $49.99 brand new, even though there's so many more people involved in the making of a modern AAA or even just A tier video game compared to anything from the 8 or 16 bit eras. I swear some video game credit sequences are longer than major motion pictures nowadays.
I saw the first video on your Insta the other day! It was cool watching it again but on my big TV this time! I missed the second video. It was cool seeing it. Speaking of Teenage Turtles, I finally got Shredder's Revenge on Halloween! I just beat it the other day. Great game. It's like a direct sequel to Turtles In Time. I want to beat it with the other characters now because each character has a slightly different ending haha I beat it with Leo. Once you open the final boss in story mode you can just fight it with any character right there. Getting all endings shouldn't be too hard.
Cool, thanks for watching! And I'm glad you enjoyed Shredder's Revenge. I still need to check it out and I think it's cool you can play as April and Casey Jones.
Those old earbuds were so horrible in every way. My sister had a set that rolled up into a little case. You had to reel them in like fishing line. But they were colorful!
Erin there was a slight misunderstanding on your Legacy of Darkness review video. Harvest Spirit and StarForceGeo were my old user names. I was trying to say I was the one aiding you in your Stream videos uploaded on RUclips. Sorry if I confused you Erin
So many good games
And Home Alone…

Wow those Disney books on tape, my sis had some of those plus the Mickey phone, thanks for the memories!
We did have the rainbowy colored robot from the jc penney catalog i think was called My pal or something
I was 15 in 1992 and my older brother got me a SNES. I remember when they went down to 99.99. Cool video, Thanks Erin!
Love these wishbook videos Erin. 1992 was the year I got Super Mario World, F-Zero and Zelda: A Link to the Past for Christmas.

My son is 4 and I’ve been saving the Walmart/Target/Amazon Holiday gift catalogs we get so he can look at when he’s older.
Aw that's awesome!

I remember spending hours in this catolog that year. I wanted Teenage Turtles 3 so bad. TG-16 was less than the Menacer :(
Liking these wishbook videos!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this Sears Wish Book Erin!
Awesome games 😎
0:20 I remember that carry case thing. 😋
and now these (a lot of them) are MORE than they were 30 years ago...and a NES used? over 100. Sad.
In the UK we had equivalent catalogues, I used to view them loads dreaming I could have them all
Is it bad that I have scans of these to look back on during the holiday time?! These books were the best!
They were awesome! Really good memories :)
captured an era!
The weirdest part of things aimed at kids from the 90s was the insane color selection on them. I don’t know what we were thinking back then.

Right? It is weird, even with inflation.

Guess it didn't help Battletoads reputation when they advertised it upside down. ;) Good nostalgia here. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to yall.

Very cool!
I remember playing Bart vs The World and getting all the way to the end past that stupid maze stage…and electricity went out. I was pretty annoyed
Oh wow that sucks!
The atari lynx had the best graphics. For handheld systems at the time.
I still need to play a Lynx. It seems pretty cool.
1992 wishbook was good but 1993 was way better

Ah gotcha, I remember now. No worries and thanks for your comments on the streams!
