Excellent review. I just purchased one of these guys off of a member on MW, I can't wait, it was a late birthday present to myself. I've never been a fan of the 25 design, but the Cannon Fodder 25A is a beauty.
Greeting. I remember those Ghost gift set for the old VF25s came with clip-on missiles. Do they fit the renewals? I recall those clip-on parts have larger pegs. Thank in advance. I just got some for this toyand they're coming in hot :D
I love the design and its throwback to the "grunt" VF-1A from the original Macross. I know I'm weird due to liking the grunts more than the main characters machines. Unfortunately I'm unable to find the VF-25A in any other scale. My budget is kinda tight, and I really wish they would have done a 1/72 or 1/100 of this guy. I guess I could buy a VF-25G and repaint it... but I'm a terrible painter... ah, well.
I haven't had any of my renewal toys develop that issue so I can't speak from experience. Generally with something like that a somewhat easy fix is to apply a little super glue to the pegs to try to make the pegs thicker (obviously don't attach the intakes while the super glue is wet). If you can beef up the attachment points with some glue you'll be in good shape. Otherwise strategically placed dual sided tape.
The crotch piece on my Ozma renewal toy is a bit weird. When transforming it, I sometimes apply pressure and the crotch piece collapses onto itself inward. I know it's hallow inside but does it collapse that often? Have you had that problem with the VF25s Renewal toys?
shawz10 I've heard about loose joints but cracking plastic would be more severe. I plan on taking all of mine out soon since I never reviewed the tornado parts or some of the supers... will keep an eye out
Thanks, I was looking into buying one and would love an update on their durability...What I heard was on the TF2005 macross forum. A few members have mentioned seeing cracks on their valks.

+Anh Trinh The crotch piece collapses for stowing in fighter mode. I think I've just gotten used to it so my thumb no longer presses against it during battroid handling.

Beautiful....Thanks for share
a 1/20th made from part scans would be cool. maybe 1/10th to match rc cars?
My VF-25A intake covers are rather loose in the fittings and like to fall out very easily. Any way I can fix this that you know of?

Thanks a bunch. I'll give that a shot.

Ive heard these have started to have plastic cracking issues in the last few years. Have you noticed that on your figs since this review is older now?
