This video came in clutch. Really saved a huge headache. Today was my first York heat exchanger change out. Would’ve been a nightmare without this video. Thanks so much
Thanks for recording. I'm a service tech as well and we change MANY of these York rooftops. Except I've never done only a 2 tube. That would be a dream! We never take all of the panels/screws out through. Oh the dreaded 5/16" screw that hugs the wall. That is single handedly the most difficult part! We reach down with 2 extensions and a slotted driver and pull that screw. Also, a bit of a tip: Grab some sheet metal and insert it down the length of the heat exchanger. Put a bend so it can hook on the top. You won't rip the insulation NEAR as much when pulling it out or putting the new one back in. Cheers!
Today were changing a 10 ton York heat exchanger and man I will say these guys make it look easy. Wanted to set the building on fire by the time we were done. They legit built the unit around the heat exchanger
Is that the one similar to this but has two burner assemblies and the double inducer blowers? If so, I dread every having to do one of these again. Absolutely ridiculous.
The boss sent me to look at client's York rtu. Tenants were complaining about flakes of aluminum coming out of the diffusers. It was nasty inside the heat exchanger box. Recommended replacement. Thxs for the vids!
@Ulster Systems dam! To be honest I rather not it looks painful. Lol . I do have those 125 degrees on the roof. I rather do that for a few days then shovel snow all winter. I’m retiring soon. You young Thunder cats can take over. RV and Harley Davidson driving on the California coast. My grandson is my world
Happy holidays from chicago. Love the content as always. I love doing heat exchangers. If you can, I'd love if you went more in depth with what you had going over there with your meter on the gas valve. Just got me a pair of the Klein tough meters from my senior tech and I'd like to see what exactly you were metering and what you were looking for. Thanks again for the quality content big dog
to check/ exam heat exchanger on York RTU 60K BTU it can be done by removing top metal cover ? got a call today it was open limit switch i replace the very dirty filters seems like it fine now , then i checked flames looks life flames are wild ( all over the place , going to come back tommorow examine heat exchanger , i heard York has worst replacements)))) i did 2 carriers couple weeks ago 60k rtu 4 hours job)
I’ve only done a couple of heat exchangers since I’ve started in this trade, first one was a Lennox (HUMUNGOUS pain in the ass) package unit, and a Goodman package unit (not nearly as bad as the Lennox but still a pain). I’ve heard of how bad Yorks are though.
@@HughesManHVAC knocked it out in under 4 hours thanks to you. Did it a little different which made it go a little bit easier. Here’s a video ruclips.net/video/56onk5kQYwY/видео.html
@@HughesManHVAC no matter what York’s are horrible. They build them to never come apart. I see a York I wanna turn my head and say yes heat exchanger was good lol
What a nightmare, very difficult to replace a York heat exchanger. if I ever come across one those will be condemned and replace it with a new one not a York piece a crap.

Never been a fan of anything from York. Just my 2c. But, being in Texas, I do enjoy watching you guys do these cold jobs.
I'm not a York fan either, Texas! Never been there but want visit sometime! Thanks for checking out the video man!
i hate york from inside out..this planet will be a better place without york
Nice coat
Real work!

Hard working dudes, I love your videos thats one hell of a job and you pretty much could be an expert by the time you do one huh
Thank man!
Do you have a video doing the larger Sunline model? I have a 15 ton to do tomorrow and was hoping for some ideas on how to tackle it.
Dam ! I’m from California. It doesn’t snow in the Bay Area. You guys are hard core HVAC cat’s.
Thanks Samuel

Dude! You made those systems like new!💪🏼👍
Cold job Ryan...awesome!
Thanks Mom!
Is the burner plate called the burner plate? We are doing a 15 ton and can not fund a part number for that plate.
cost? The furnace must come out of hse?
Y’all working in some really cold weather I couldn’t do it😂 I’ll stick to texas haha great job by the way👌🏼👏🏼
Looked like a tough one w all that ratty insulation and rusty screws, nice work giving that old unit some new life..
Thanks
Hi , how to order the parts for that York unit , like flame sensor and igniter

Wow great job I’d hate to work on that unit. No heat calls/ issues are electric heat or reversing valve here in swfl
Nice! Thanks for watching man

Thanks for watching Greg, I just condemned another York today
Replacing a 25 ton York Sunline tomorrow. Should be hell in a hand cart. 1996 RTU.
I’m late to the comments, hope it went well
@HughesMan HVAC it did. Pain to do, but its up and running nicely
Nice job.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Dragon!
Well, that was fun! Why couldn't it be a carrier, York's are a pain. Great video!
Thanks man! I'm expecting your channel to blow up soon, I've been enjoying your videos!
Love ur videos! How many screws do you end up with at the end!😂
Thanks Allen! Sometimes more sometimes less! Thanks for watching!

Great video man I’m doing one of these in a week just waiting on the exchanger from the factory. How many hours did this take you?

Thanks alot man! I appreciate it!
Hate York heat exchangers. I bring sheet metal and slide on the sides and help reduce that insulation from going to crap
That's a good idea, doing a big york on Monday, may give that a shot and see how it goes. Thanks man!

York’s are some of the worse to change a heat exchanger on.
Indeed Brutus, I've done a lot of them. Got a 20Ton to do on Monday. Thanks for watching!
@@HughesManHVAC did a Carrier by myself. It was on the ground. Glad we don’t have much snow but a lot of heat and humidity

Thanks for watching AD
No wonder i was told most ppl cant afford hi efficiency furnace. You hsve to replace it, they drag it out if ur hse, whsts thst cost for thst??
These York units are horrible. I only change heat exchangers in these units if they are still under warranty. Otherwise I turf the unit.
Nice! Thanks for watching the video.
Yorks are the worst for heat exchanger replacing 😢
Definitely! Thanks for watching
OH man , those york heat exchangers are the worst
