Fun thing in the song. There is the line "never thought of being nothin but a cowboy". That's not just a metaphor. He's a cowboy. He was a bull rider as a teen and wanted to make a career of that. His song, Dear Rodeo, is a great love letter to the sport and really can translate to any sport you played and loved but had to give up.

Check out “Dear Rodeo” either him solo or the one with Reba McEntire. He also did one with Jelly Roll called Whiskey Bent. Dude has a LOT of fantastic music if you’re looking for a deep dive

Cojo has some great story telling and just a clean sound that's always nice to listen to. "Dirt Cheap" is another really good story haven't really seen anyone do a reaction to!

Cody Johnson is way bigger than what you think, he's traveled around Texas for years, it's called the Texas music scene or Red dirt country. He's put out 5 albums on his own label. Nashville country doesn't mean a whole lot to us here in Texas.we have artists like Wade Bowen, Aaron Watson. Whiskey Myers, William Clark Green. Many more artists that play country music that modern Nashville won't, and I'm fine with it
