I really miss your goofy intros where you used to slide towards your workbench and say to all of us hello my friends. I hop eit will come back some time...I really enjoy your videos...
One of that main things I respect about you is how you appreciate the originality of the wood color and don't always throw a dark stain on it. Beautiful piece of work yet again URI.
As always, your art and craft are profound. I look forward to your fabrication of a mohel's blade. I really like the systematic way you took us through the build and narrated this one!
I was watching one of your videos while my dad was entering the room and now he's your biggest fan! :P He loves watching your creative process and he thinks you're a exceptional artisan. Thanks for making my dad happy
Make sure when you epoxy metal, you put deep scratches in the metal where the epoxy will be. It will be a much stronger hold. Shalom from Fresno California!! :)
Beautiful little carving knife. I just took up whittling as a hobby and would enjoy a knife with a blade that shape. Great for bulk work but with that fine tip you could use it for detailing. As usual your video left me with a smile on my face. Thank you!
And you thought that many of us would miss the briss comment. LOL! You are the man! I actually love a good chip carving knife, but this is more a marking than a chip carving knife . I like my blades curved a bit. I love it though, as I love all your work. Regards, Solomon
Very nice and very interesting. I do a lot of wood carving and I always like to add to my repertoire of tools. Thank you so much for this suggestion and lesson!
As always, a beautiful and perfectly functional piece... okay, maybe they're not ALWAYS perfectly functional... but always beautiful... and, in this case, perfectly functional... and beautiful (did I say beautiful? Well, it is...and perfectly functional).
i LOVE your videos and the work you put into your stuff. it makes me want to jump into yet another project that will cost me a bunch of money and that I'll never finish.
Uri if you're making a lathe from the singer sewing machine, you should add more weight to the wheel and/or drive shaft, I welded a steel frame to the flywheel and added a big stone disk to the head stock shaft. also if its not turning well, remember to adjust the tension of the two centers that hold the stock. the way I do it on my singer lathe, tighten till you feel a little resistance, then spin the head stock and lightly un-tighten the dead center until its loose as can be, without the piece of wood being able to wriggle side to side or up/down. be safe, learning how to use the tools can be scary, personally im using a "inside bevel" turning gouge and that seems to work amazingly well but only if used held from above the work downward. so kinda opposite to how people use "outside bevel tools"
Hello Uri. I had similar problems with brass too wood. I did 4 little pins on the back of the brass and inserting the Blade with a tang that went all the way through. Made a long countersunk partly hollow nut, flush with the brass in the end plate, that I also fixt in place with 4 bras pins that go into the wood and not totally through the end plate. Another option would be the glue they used for knife making, like table knifes, before dishwashers where a problem. It is composed from Resin and some filler, I need to look it up if you are interested.
Well done, Uri. I like this one. You made a knife to "cut" a cherry tomato. Best of all, the knife won't roll away when you put it down. Work safe my friend.
That's a good looking knife, the blade looks a bit like a kiridashi. The handle also looks nice, but I can't imagine it being very comfortable to hold, with all the edges digging into your hand when whittling for longer periods of time.
Says he's not a knife maker. Goes on to make one bad ass knife, that's nicer than anything in my whole set of tools and way more nicer than any knife I've ever made.
Thanks! Im more familiar with The handle and the brass work, but when it comes to the blade itself, there's more to be desired. I can't get nice clean bevels just yet.
I like that thing you do there, that, everything. Yeah, that i like. Looking foward to that scrollsaw/lathe video! I've been working on a treadle lathe, based on similar old sewing machine. You gave me the inspiration for it, I salute thee. Wunderbar!
I love it, but I wonder if the "guard" piece might really get in your way sometimes, or scratch your workpiece. It'll definitely make it so you have to come in at a steeper angle when the piece is big enough to hit it.
i am no professional knife maker but i have enough experience to tell you to watch out for stress risers, you have two that is between the tang and the blade, a stress riser is a 90 degree angle in hardened steel and because of how small the point is it makes it very likely to break when pressure is applied. just some advice, very great work keep it up mm friend.
Your original wooden handle was not "stale." Perhaps it was "plain." Your additions made it more "ornate." I say this as someone who envies anyone such as yourself who has command of several languages. You rock.
I've made one of those knife before and yours was much much better. I suck at heat treating the blade so the edge doesn't hold for a long time. Need to sharpen it frequently.
Have you used Lilac for any of your projects? I really enjoy working with it and it makes a very stable wood which finishes ultra smooth and durable. You also get a nice fragrance with purple streaking. The only thing to be mindful of is drying. It will split if it drys too fast.
During my time with R.C.E.M.E. and U.N.E.F. to keep my brass shiny for longer periods of time than Brasso or Silvo alone could avail, I scraped a stick of Jewelers Rouge and put the Jewelers Rouge dust into the mix. This did extend the time it would stay shiny.
Tomato’s never had it so good. Got the engraver , personalized pencil and stuff. I feel like I was right next to you in your shop when I tried it out. Beautiful feel and works great. Only thing is that my engraving attempts seem to be slower than your high speed fluid motion. Maybe I need a camera?
I really miss your goofy intros where you used to slide towards your workbench and say to all of us hello my friends. I hop eit will come back some time...I really enjoy your videos...
Agreed! I just love the intro slide and all those subtle comical things here and there throughout the videos (^ _ ^)
lol performing briss... lol funny.. You don't make tools, you make art, that's why it always takes longer than you think it should. Art takes time.
Yeah, I found the way he snuck that in rather cute.
One of that main things I respect about you is how you appreciate the originality of the wood color and don't always throw a dark stain on it. Beautiful piece of work yet again URI.
Across the pond we call that “whittling”in the south and “carving” in the north. Thanks for sharing.
I love how you are so flawed sometimes but still can produce masterpieces other times.
As always, your art and craft are profound. I look forward to your fabrication of a mohel's blade. I really like the systematic way you took us through the build and narrated this one!
You both inspire me and make me laugh Uri. As always brilliant work.

Thanks Blain! Good luck with whittling! (I had to look it up ¦D)

I envy the fact that you put so much detail into your work. Good work as well. Keep it up.
Gorgeous craftsmanship, even if it was a small quick project. A delight to watch.
BRING BACK THE HELLO MY GOOD FRIENDS INTRO! I really love your older more relaxed style
That is a lovely looking knife. The blade looks like a Japanese Kiridashi (I think thats what it is called) and the handle suits it. Well done.
As always, a beautiful and perfectly functional piece... okay, maybe they're not ALWAYS perfectly functional... but always beautiful... and, in this case, perfectly functional... and beautiful (did I say beautiful? Well, it is...and perfectly functional).
That is a beautiful carving knife make some more knives please your creativity is beautiful
i LOVE your videos and the work you put into your stuff. it makes me want to jump into yet another project that will cost me a bunch of money and that I'll never finish.
That was your best one yet! I enjoyed your humor!

Beautiful work, great video. It's a joy to watch you create. Looking forward to the scroll saw. Thanks Uri.
I'm impressed with the speed with which you file and sand. Purple is a great colour.
"hello there" - ah, a man of culture I see
That’s not how the joke works but okay
Made me think POTION SELLER
Shut the fuck up honestly m8
I really enjoyed this project
You say you're an amateur but your work looks absolutely professional. I just found your videos and plan to give something a try. Thanks for sharing.
LOL. You do realize you can buy them at the market cheap or grow them in a garden and they are even more delicious.
Your videos are awesome.
Beautiful knife; or should I say work of art, your craftsmanship is absolutely spectacular.
but you are an amazing craftsman.

What, no slide and 'Hello My Friends'? Keep on making, I always learn something from your videos.
Outstanding job! So interesting and cool to watch. Thanks
Again, another wonderful piece of art, I hope to achieve tools making as half as good as you do.
Very precise work. I love the dedication!
Thx and greets from germany
Awesome project Uri!!!
Looking forward to that scroll saw video, definitely thinking about making one for myself.
Just found you channel, beautiful work, thank you.
Awesome project. You definitely deserve more subscribers.
Beautiful work as usual - thanks for sharing.

No custom engraving on the knife or brass? Still a very nice piece but I love your embellishments.
Looks great! Labels are overrated...knife maker, artist, pigeon engraver... Whatever! 👍
You are so talented . Love your videos
Nice job.
Heck yeah. Uri has a new video. Thanks for entertaining me
Beautiful work.
Performing briss hahahahaha that’s gonna go right over most viewers’ heads.
I was not sure I heard it correctly. Made me laugh
Peter Jansen at least he made sure it was suitably sharp for purpose!
I googled it....😂
You're sick lol
I had no idea he was a mohel.
Great skill, keep shining brother
Amazing work!! Well done!
Very nice, your skill shows with every video.
Not bad at all fella! Continue in your endeavors, you have some promise.

Hallo from the Ukraine. Love your work )
Excellent work as always 😎😎
Well done as always!
Shellack is wonderful to use for fixing the blade to the handle too. Just stuff the handle full, heat the tang and push it in.
