    Wow, very artistic! Love love love it! But most of all I LOVE your accent.
    I could listen at your voice all day long. Being French Canadian, I can pick up accents very easily and yours is simply divine!
    Stop saying that you are not a florists because your flower looks awesome! Be confident, Speak confidently, because an artist like you has to stand up for himself, being half as good as you are, I would!
    Thank you for sharing your video.

    I remember when I could go down to the hardware store and buy sheets of copper by the foot my mic you cannot do that now that's when I stopped making roses but there's other tricks I found out I keep my eyes open always when people are doing the roof of the house some people like copper roof there's a lot of scrap that thrown in the dumpster that is small enough not to keep but pleasurable enough to make roses

    When it is all said and done I would show my flower and they would like it then give it a smell. I started putting perfume in it and was well received. It is an expensive air freshener. As always a video well made. Thank you.

    Good vid mate! I make copper roses and I have found if you put all the petals on flat ! Do the nut up , then start shaping them from the inside out it’s much better and easier 👍🏻

    Mr. Gary, Thanks a lot for this video. I downloaded your layout and am forging the stem now. I was thinking to use aluminum 22 gauge sheet for petals 2-4 and copper for 1 and 5. Might give it a cool feel. Also, putting some twists in the stem. Exciting! Thanks again!

    it's a rose! In case you are still wondering what kind of flower you're making. ;-) I think I will try making a smaller one with a rivet in the center to hold them together and no stem. I also think I will go for more of a briar/wild rose look with only two layers of petals. Thank you so much!

    i think it would look even more pretty if you use different metalls for the flower :) a flower with bras, copper, and iron would look very exotic :) maybe i will try theis too :) i think it would also look nice at the end of mono steel knife :)

    I mean some sort of forming tool; either a type of forming pliers, stamp, and/or raising/doming stake of some sort on which to hammer the 3-D shape of the leaf when the metal is laid on top of it.

    How would you fix a copper rivet? The reason I use a bolt is so that you can tighten everything up holding the parts in place. The hole in the "bud" is blind and tapped, no way to fix a rivet. As I said in another reply if you get it right you can't see the bolt

  • @garyhuston
    @garyhuston  12 лет назад

    @Lakesideforge No, 8mm is 5/16, 10mm is 3/8. Sorry should have said that for my international viewers.... :o)

    Yeah, you can do everything he did there, then instead of finishing by using a bolt you can make a copper rivet and it'll camouflage perfectly with the rest of the petals.

    Gary, hello again. I posted a video on the copper aluminum rose but I am not sure it worked. Not so tech savoy. Recently, I developed a new patina solution that oxidizes to deep blue. I think I will use this rose layout of yours with my patina stained copper. Might be interesting.

    Gary, very interesting flower....beautiful actually. I have one problem with it though. Can't you do something about the bolt in the middle so that it doesn't look like a bolt that you buy at the hardware store....specifically silver? Can't something be done to possible to change the color like enameling before you put it in the flower? I think I'd like to try to make one. Thank you!

    • @franciscorodriguez-zo4cf
      @franciscorodriguez-zo4cf 9 лет назад

      they are like the old school version of the current green plastic pan and people like the feeling of using what the old timers used. and they are sort of complex there is a lip at the base of the pan so heavy materials can escape and wide part of the pan has to be set at a certain angle so you can flush water inside so the light material washes away and if you ad two or three riffle on the wide part it would ad at least an extra 50$ because all copper pans have the wide part flat.If you look at current pans and then look at the copper pan you will see the difference in the design and texture of the wide part.thats why they are worth a little extra people just want a taste of the past.
