What beautiful well thought out blacksmith techniques. The irises are very gorgeous and textural. The video is very interesting, I could watch these techniques all day. Thank you so much for sharing, and for showing that these pieces take time and craftsmanship, and should be supported.
Thank you Dawn that is very kind of you. Cheers J
The time study and lessons of efficiency were brilliant. This is the stuff that no one else offers online. Sadly, I have no CNC or cutting torch and would be doing all that preliminary work by hand. I’ll still give it a go but won’t be making large quantities. Thanks so much. This is what I (and I assume many others) have needed. SO good to see you creating. You have loads of talent and I know your future is bright.
Thank you Lou! Honestly to do this commercially I would buy them in from a laser profile cutting company. They require a minimum order but will equal to only a couple of $/£ each. Cheers J
Fantastic and artistic blacksmithing - I’ve never seen anything like it - wow
Thanks Trevor! You should see the stuff the guys make in BABA.... Cheers J
I love your art, it's a joy to watch you make it
Jesus von Nazaret thank you very much! J
Beautiful, no question about it. Thank you for sharing.
SquirrelsForAll thank you that's very kind of you! J
Beautiful job! I was fascinated with your leafing stake. I've never seen anything of the sort by way of stakes for jewelry making, which is what I do. Brilliant!
Thank you Valorie. Cheers J
Great job Joshua! God bless you :-)
Thank you! Blessings to you and your family also. J
Fantastic work, mate. Great to watch your process. 😀 awesome end product.
Thank you. Cheers J
Very beautiful job. Take care and God bless.
Thank you. Blessings to you also. Cheers J
Super nice! I need to try something like that someday!
Torbjörn Åhman its a pleasure to know you like what I do!... If I give you discount would you make one from my pattern in your videos? I'm going to make available a 'pack' with pre laser cut parts if you're interested? All the very best. J
I haven't forgotten about this... just so many things to do right now.... I'll contact you later on!
@@torbjornahman I look forward to it. Cheers!
Lovely looking pieces Josh 👍
Thank you very much Johny!
Joshua De Lisle if you needed a laugh Josh you should have seen three grown men wresting a number 6 with stand fly press out of a van, with the benefit of hindsight a number 3 would have been the better option mate ha ha, so if you know anyone who wants a straight swop a 6 for a 3 let me know 👍
Beautiful work !
Thank you so much. Cheers J
I like the leafing tool
Thank you David!
Great video, Josh. Not only the wonderful irises, but the video production as well. I'll be making some of these -- as soon as I find as I find someone with a cutting torch... Clyde
Hey Clyde! You made think I should do a video on cutting sheet steel and the different methods you can use without expensive gear. Like a top 10 and go through costings and speeds. Also I was thinking if there is enough interest to get a batch laser profile cut and so you could by one or two pre-cut from my Etsy shop. Cheers J
Josh -- Glad I sparked that thought. That's a video I'd enjoy seeing. Clyde
I think I'll film that! Cheers J
Great job mate, I also make most of my flowers using this technique. Thanks for the informative video 👍
Thanks Tomos! Happy forging buddy. J
Nice one Josh. They look good.
All the best
Andy
Thank you Andy! J
Beautiful. Brilliant.
I have watched this video so many times
Now I'm gonna make it
Thanxalot
Thank you so much. Cheers J
Wow serious skills and awesome setup! Thanks for sharing!! :)
Great job I’m from Mexico
Spectacular job sir! Thanks for the tutorial
JJL Forge thank you very much! J
Whilst I don’t believe you would produce a video like this if you want to keep it to yourself, I still want to ask... would you mind if I try some of these irises? With my own twist of course....
JJL Forge you are more than welcome. I have supplied the patterns for the design of the petals in my etsy shop for you to use. I'm going to supply the steel petal profiles for everyone to buy also if you're interested? All the best and happy forging. J
Definitely great methods
I’ll be trying this in copper
Awesome as ever, you have some really great ideas
Thank you Dave! I'm glad it's helpful. J
Magnifico trabajo, gracias por compartir su profesión!!!
Gracias. Cheers J
I like that copper hood!
Grandadz Forge thanks! For a quick fix it turned out alright. Cheers J
Mate those just look beautiful, really elegant. One thing that jumps out at me is that they would make lovely bird feeders or small drinking stands. If the top petals where spread out a little a copper bowl could be put the middle and held in place with the bend.
Thank you Luke! That's a great idea. You should do it! Cheers J
Joshua De Lisle I will give it a go, also I have ordered one of the fans should be here tomorrow or Tuesday.
Awesome Luke! Let me know how you get on. J
Very nice work
Cheers budy!
Great video 👍
Thank you!
Loved this project, came out so elegant and as good a copy of natures beauty as I imagine is possible in steel. One thing that I couldn't find was the finish you used. Is this an oil based rub, say linseed and beeswax or some kind of lacquer directly onto the black oxide? Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Its actually clear powder coated, so a plastic thats baked on, very good long lasting finish. all the very best. cheers J
Fantastic!
What The Forge Blacksmithing Thank you!
Sensational!
Thank you!
Great project, whats that white cloth type thing you are using during the plasma cutting im assuming its some kind of heat resistant material.
Thank you. It's called a TIG finger used for welding and is made from heat resistant woven fibre ceramic to protect your hand around hot parts. Cheers J
SUPER!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Cheers J
The v tool you made is it 16mm round thanks
It's 12mm. 16mm will work fine too. Cheers J
Kick ass bro😀😀😀😀
Thank you so much. Cheers J
how thick is that steel ,,, looks like 4mm ish
Hey Tom. It's 3mm. cheers J
many thanks
nice end result
Dude your digital file in the link is sold out... However that works lol
Southdown Waters Forge. Thanks for letting me know I'll sort that out ASAP!
All sorted! first time dealing with downloads on Etsy... thanks
IRS template
Etsy is a ripoff.. any way to buy direct?
@@dontbe Etsy is direct. They're just a host platform for artisans. Cheers J
Hello Joshua.. i want to buy your svg and try it. But i dont like ANY of my money gojng to etsy…. They take too much from artisans. I dont want to support them. Thanks for the reply
This video is supreme - I do similar work, but in copper (haven't gotten to irises yet) and this is exactly what we're shooting for when we start making videos. Not going to self-promote on your thread, but I'd love to see what else you make - maybe swap patterns? contact at copperFlora.com if you're down..
