I live in the Caribbean. Iv been deep sea diving and even spear fishing. If there was ever a scary moment of my life living with the ocean it would be the time when I hooked this huge mackerel (about 30 lbs the least), fought with it for a good 15 minutes and just when I was about to bring her aboard this fish, no shark or barracuda that's for sure, ripped the Mackerel in half with one bite. My dad who has been fishing all his life panicked, first time I ever saw him scared in my life put the dingi in full speed all the way to shore abandoning the rod. I was in the moment so I didn't get a good look at it but my dad was ready to hook it he said he saw it coming from yards away coming to is really fast. He said it was like a baby whale but with small black blunt spikes surrounding it and it was really fucking huge even I could tell. He even said he swore it was chasing the dingi when we were driving off.
Heck Godzilla is the least of your problems. There are things down here that are capable of spanning the entire Pacific Ocean! Godzilla is also usually dormant.
The water scares me with how easily it can drown you. The unseen things scare me with their gnarled and undiscovered faces. I hate the ocean unless under very special and comfortable circumstances, of which I can only list one time where they occurred. I'll stick to the mountains, thank you very much.
According to Lovecraft and his correspondent Clark Ashton Smith (see "The Azathoth Family Tree"), Cthulhu's parent is the androgynous deity Nagoob. Nagoob mated with the Outer God Yog-Sothoth to bear Cthulhu on the planet Vhoorl. Lin Carter, in his Xothic legend cycle, mated Cthulhu with the quasi-female entity Idh-yaa to produce four offspring: Ghatanothoa, Ythogtha, Zoth-Ommog, and Cthylla. The English horror writer Brian Lumley introduced an equally powerful, but questionably benevolent, "brother" to Cthulhu called Kthanid.
Leo Cooper Kthanid is mary sue bullshit. Most "benign" aliens that oppose the high priest Cthulhu don't have humanity's best interest or don't care about humans. In fact the great race of Yoth are the only true aliens that don't loathe or hold Humanity in contempt.

Not just that but being trapped in a way, not having anything or anyone only what you took/ have on hand if a problem comes. I don't fear the unknown as much as having a lot of my advantages taken away. Each day is unknown, but atleast i can always get another stick as a club without destroying my ship. Or even the ability to use a club that'd be great while in water not on a ship. I mean even a octopus or shark scare me bc of their fighting ability in water, there is a good reason we dont have gills, we would be pretty bad at fighting in the ocean.
I've been swimming since I was six, and I'm pretty damn good at it, but somehow, swimming in the open ocean has always scared me. It's not so much the fear of my feet not touching ground- I can deal with that, it's more like a fear of what lurks beneath, unknown and unseen.
Definitely chalking this one up as a favourite. Love monster horror, and underwater horrors are pretty fantastic. Just enough description to give an idea, but not so much as to deprive the reader(listener) of filling in the rest with our imagination. Really superbly written.

Pretty sure this monster is the Scylla from Greek Mythology, unless it's something completely made up. If that's true, well done author. This one was genuinely unnerving.
Nah, Scylla is a six headed creature that lives along the Strait of Messina. She picks off six sailors from any vessel that passes by. The only way to avoid her is to sail close to Charybdis...which also has dire consequences.
T Man It only takes all if you pass over while she's gulping down water. Charybdis isn't trying to sink ships. It just gulps water, forming a whirlpool. Then it belches the water back out.
StormSnake0618 I used Scylla as a template but I added alot of other elements both from my own head and from other sources like The Sirens and Lovecraft's monsters.
Snowblinded73 Sir, you have a talent for storytelling. This is one of my favorite creepypastas, which is weird to me considering monster-pastas aren't usually my cup of tea. I wish I could go back in time and let H.P. Lovecraft read this. The writing, to me at least, is just amazing. So much detail, and just the right amount of unneeded information that a person might provide when actually retelling their experience. It makes it feel that much more authentic.
If I had one wish, it would be for creepypasta to have a modest resurgence lol. Just bringing it back to its peak in terms of popularity and stories coming out. I remember when stuff like Favor for a Favor, Borrasca, the Gas Station series, etc. Felt like they'd come out friggin all the time. Good times, yall. At least we still have the greats to enjoy now!
The open water can be scary, but there are also few places as beautiful as being on the open water. At night it can be so peaceful with the wide open sky and unobstructed stars, and during the day it's so open and free. It's hard to describe how it feels with no land in sight, no hills or mountains, and nothing but water as far as the eye can see. It's the ultimate freedom being able to go any direction endlessly. It can also be absolutely terrifying when theres a storm but it can also be exhilarating when the ship bucks back and forth and the waves pound into each side but you dont sink and ride the water like an angry bull, standing on the bow with the cold salty spray slamming into your face, leaving your cheeks numb and stinging. It can be terrifying but it gives you a high better then most drugs I've tried. Also fish are tasty.
Reminds me of when I tried to take a scuba diving class. I had to give up just because of that panic I got from having to stay under the water with weights on. My dad says it was a good call because apparently panic is the #1 killer in scuba diving.

"Long time listener, first time poster..." Just had to say that. lolBut seriously I have been listening for quite some time now and I must say that you have a great voice and delivery when it comes to narrating.
Listening to creepypastas drunk or high is something amazing. Not trying to push that on anyone or something like that but man just how easier it is to understand each word and think about the story. It's creepy but satisfying at the same time.
What makes the ocean so terrifying to me is that you're completely out of your element; you could be attacked by anything, anywhere and from any direction. Something could potentially sneak up on you and you wouldn't even know cause the sounds of the waves would tune everything out. This is why this pasta is so particularly so terrifying... That feeling of the unknown combined with a certain vulnerability. It's good stuff.
I usually listen to these to pass the time at work on the weekdays, but a forty minute long story about the ocean (a thing that sends shivers down my spine on its own) was just too tempting for me to just ignore. I had to get just a taste, learn what I'm in for on Monday.
Maybe the reason we're so afraid of the deep sea is because it makes us realize how small we are. Also, maybe because it's so vast and unexplored. We know more about space than what's in our own oceans. I have panic attacks in deep water; vulnerability is so scary...
+Caleb Gambill We don't know more about space then our own oceans. We have no idea how big space is. We haven't even explored other solar systems. However, we do know more about Mars and the Moon than we do about the depths of our oceans
It's interesting, knowing that this could very well be true, since we have only explored FIVE PERCENT of our oceans. We know more about the Moon and Mars!! Hell, there could even be worse creatures than the one depicted here! An inquisitive, yet scary thought.

I listened to this story so many times that I legit had a nightmare about it. It started at the raft part but instead of just using the bodies of the crew to scream at me they actually tried to climb onto the raft and drag me into the water. “Pee... peep... tingle....” CreepsMcPasta, really? 😂 If anyone reads this and doesn’t know what I’m on about, read the description. [EDIT] Not been this hyped for an ocean monster-pasta since I watched Neptune’s Fancy.
One of the most amazing experiences of my life happened in the ocean. I was 13 and living in Hawaii the first and only time I touched a shark. I had been snorkeling in the bay for hours following one colorful fish after another when I saw it. A blacktip reef shark just cruising along the reef right next to me. It was less than two feet away. I froze for a second at the sight of a shark up close before realizing it was only about four feet long. I spent the next hour following that shark all around the bay. It was incredible seeing a shark that close and watching him hunt for injured reef fish. At the very end of the day right after my Mother started calling for me and my sisters to get out of the water I took my chance. I had gotten within touching distance of the reef shark a few times before without upsetting him, but every time I started to reach out my courage deserted me. Knowing that this was probably my one and only chance to ever touch a shark in the wild I finally did it. I reached out and ran my hand gently down the shark's side as he slowly swam on. I then swam back to shore and never told my mother or my sister's what I had dared to do.
BTW...since when does this channel have not only ads in the both the beginning but midway? It sux...getting lost in a well written/narrated story only to suddenly having ur eardrums assaulted by the most obnoxious noise. It really breaks the spell...
I'm glad they are earning money from it. If they are willing to take time, usually a fair bit too, to make these videos for us, the viewers. Then I will not, in all good conscience, begrudge them a little cheddar in doing so. In fact, I would probably feel like I am getting the only good part of the bargain.
I've always found the ocean fascinating. Back when I was in elementary school and middle school I wanted to become a marine biologist and explore the ocean. One specific aspect of the ocean I wanted to explore and study the most was the deep sea, where no light penetrates. Though I have changed the career I am pursuing I still find the ocean fascinating, especially the bathypelagic layer. Though at the same time I find it incredibly terrifying, considering we've explored more of space than the ocean. Which I feel greatly contributes to my curiosity of the ocean. Who knows what could be lurking down there, possibly farther than any submarine can go... I found this story to be very well done. It was really well written and I hope to see more like these in the near future.
Asriel Dreemurr Though we have explored much of the ocean, there is still an incredibly large portion we have not. There are also many creatures we may never get to discover because of the ocean's depth and vastness. I must say that the ocean is not infinite as there is an end to it, however we may never know what is on the opposite end and that is what I find so interesting. I do find outer space interesting as well.
The Сумерки бегун translates to The Twilight runner for those interested. Also still one of my favourite stories, and I'd love to hear stories about the Kanábéyáa or the koo-bu who's description kinda reminded my of those cave children things.

If anyone reads this and doesn’t know what I’m on about, read the description.
[EDIT] Not been this hyped for an ocean monster-pasta since I watched Neptune’s Fancy.
Wow the part when he looked into the water with the flashlite was the part theat got to me. WHOHO epic CP
I like hearing your guy's stories
When he noticed it's eyes and mouth waiting for his foot to enter the water my whole body tensed up.

Thanks mrcreepypasta l, your videos help me stay awake on my 2 hour commute to work keep making them long please

i love these ocean stories
LOVE the creepy intro piano music
Holy shit! It was the thing trying to get him the whole time, not his friends needing help. ~♤~
I really enjoy listening to your narrations! :)
BTW...since when does this channel have not only ads in the both the beginning but midway? It sux...getting lost in a well written/narrated story only to suddenly having ur eardrums assaulted by the most obnoxious noise. It really breaks the spell...
youtube needs there money :( but i hear you... totally breaks the immersion
well then you should stick with the little guys. Once the big guys get noticed they are at the will of RUclipss marketing team.
I'm glad they are earning money from it. If they are willing to take time, usually a fair bit too, to make these videos for us, the viewers. Then I will not, in all good conscience, begrudge them a little cheddar in doing so. In fact, I would probably feel like I am getting the only good part of the bargain.
get adblock! i use it, it makes it less annoying to here nothing rather than an annoying ad ;)
Mallory Dorn DO NOT USE ADBLOCK... hes trying to make a living here, DONT DENY IT TO HIM
hello mr. Possibly just like to add that I love the graphics of your entry they're great.
Particularly good one.
Keep doing what you do dude huge fan :)
I love the scary ocean/water stories
+Livi J Comparitivly, we've explored much more oceon than space. We know the oceon is finite, we still have no idea how big space is.
I'm only halfway through, but I love this story. I've never said - it's perfect. It's perfect and perfectly read.
It was actually Godzilla looking for some ramen noodles on the ship
The Сумерки бегун translates to The Twilight runner for those interested. Also still one of my favourite stories, and I'd love to hear stories about the Kanábéyáa or the koo-bu who's description kinda reminded my of those cave children things.
