Stark’s original form as a Vasto Lorde is one of the most intriguing mysteries in the Bleach universe, and the way Aizen chose to avoid him speaks volumes. Imagine being so powerful that even Aizen-someone who never hesitated to manipulate or confront others-decided to leave you untouched. Stark’s loneliness being the source of his power adds a poetic layer to his character, making him more than just another hollow. His potential, split between two personas, leaves us wondering what his full, unified strength could’ve been. Honestly, Stark’s untapped power deserves more exploration-it could easily rival some of the greatest characters in the series!!
It is crazy to me how the power scaling works with the hollows like Szayelaporro when fused with his brother was so strong that he was automatically number 0 higher than Barragan. But as soon as he split he lost so much of it he wasn't an espada anymore and his brother was like anywhere from 4th seat officer level to lieutenant. And that's even low level lieutenant back then like almost all the lieutenants now would stomp the characters in the arrancar arc lol. But Starrk was so strong even splitting he's still number 1 took on 4 captains singlehandedly beating 2 of them after Ukitake had to leave. Gave Shunsui a challenge pushing his to want to go Bankai one of the oldest and strongest captains at the time. It's insane Starrk is a beast
One thing I've noticed, and I maybe wrong here, is that the other espada forms changed after Aizen approached them. Based on the story Aizen was able to help the rest "evolve" with the Hogyoku. Stark seemed to have already achieved that level, and split his soul? Did he need the Hogyoku to get stronger, or was he already at an "evolved level"? Barragan (and others) seem to have gained a sword to seal his true form. While Stark already had his form before Aizen approached him. And that's why he was the strongest. One more question: Did Aizen notice his spiritual pressure drop when he split his soul and this allowed Aizen to feel confident enough to approach him then? Anyhow I'm not sure here. This is just some speculation here and I wanted to share.
I’m of the opinion that the hogyoku’s effect on Starrk would’ve had to have been a direct result of either his or Aizen’s wishes/desires. This recent revelation makes it seem like Aizen didn’t want him any stronger, though, maybe that was only to protect his other espada and that concern ceased once Starrk joined, in which case Aizen may have enhanced him with it. Otherwise, it depends on whether Starrk still desired to be weaker in order to make friends, or if Lillynette had been enough. If he didn’t feel it necessary anymore, the hogyoku would’ve already indirectly granted his wish by making the others strong enough to be around him. If not, I believe Lillynette is the only result of his self division, and his sword came from the hogyoku, which means his powers were further sealed, and unlike Ulquiorra (the only other natural Arrancar) he didn’t get a second ressureccion, which would mean it made him weaker.
I do have to wonder, like you mention, if Aizen had his own list of "special threats" that warranted particular consideration or special handling from him. We obviously know that Yamamoto and Zaraki were the ones he deemed to outright be threats, and according to Mr. Kubo he also was apparently wary of presenting himself before Starrk and Lillinette's original merged identity, though did not seem to place them on the level of Yamamoto or Zaraki. I could see that sort of "secondary" threat level being less about people Aizen outright considered to be obstacles and moreso individuals whom he was simply cautious of. Perhaps it would encompass the likes of Kisuke for obvious reasons, and perhaps Unohana given how he very clearly seemed to avoid engaging her in combat during the Soul Society arc.
I think it would be really cool if starks original hollow form was a werewolf it would be human but beastly in nature and would still follow the wolf theme of his chracter also still would be lonely for his power in that form being a natural araccar would be insane.

He was a shinigami... The menos grande the Zero Squad hunt are those that used to be shinigami. We saw it begin with aaroneiro, but it ended to a degree.
