the best early game weapon you can get is the Duellist longsword. 62/62 damage. after leaving talmberg and going back to skalitz there is a mill south of where you got the escape horse. cross the stone bridge and it will be on your right. there 5-6 mercenaries there. the one that is the closest to the entrance has this sword. lure him out somehow, maybe shoot him with an arrow first. he is not difficult to kill. there is also a chest with goodies by the foot of the bridge among reeds.
Travel east leaving rattay and you'll eventually come to a camp ground(on the left) with an unlocked chest. The gear you get from there is amazing, and free... Full plate armor, St. Georges long sword(72/72 stab/slash), a warhammer, an axe, and shield...
Correction, I went blundering into that tower on your recommendation and got caught red-handed by a guard who sliced me up like Swiss cheese, with a dazzling set of advanced sword combos....
Down the road from the destroyed horse farm is a abandoned camp with a full set of plate armor and weapons. It's on the left side of the main road past where you question Ginger. In my stealth playthrough I traveled there as soon as I made it to the mill. That haul alone will get you around 4k. Oh, leave all you can at the mill. Go as light as you can. Also, it says "steal" but it's not labeled as stolen in your inventory.
Nice! Yeah I've been storing stuff at the mill and waiting for it to become "not stolen", then selling it. Get a better deal that way than selling stolen goods to the millers.
Thanx for the tip! Cardinal directions are much more helpful than saying..."down the road" (North, South, East, West)! Are you talking about where 'Ginger' is questioned the first time, or after you find him hiding near the coalburners? Remember you already know exactly where to go...but to successfully tell someone else, using only words, requires much more detail.
Brian Martel At the stable where you question ginger for the 1. time. Follow the main road north/east, it's the road that goes through the woods, you can see it Best on the map. Few 100 meters, then On the left side you see a fire and you are there
He's talking about Neuhof. Take the road out of there toward the northeast and you will run across a camp right next to the road on the left hand side. There is a trunk full of end game gear including a St Georges sword that's the most powerful in game. It was apparently a mistake to be included in the release and will be patched out at some point. Personally I wouldn't grab it to sell because some of the gear can be hard to find later when you want it and you can get 4k easily with a few hunting trips. If you did the hunting trip with Sir Hans, that same area is full of game to shoot and there are some spots closer to Rattay east of town up the creeks that flow into the river. Also this video is pretty useful since you can't use the high end gear effectively until you have the stats. So like you can't do combos with a high end longsword until you are level 10 or whatever. A nice mid range short sword and some mail will do you well until you get leveled up since the early game bandits aren't that hard nor are they well armed.
Early on tips, Train with the Miller for stealth and lock picking, sneak into town at night and knock ppl out while sleeping and loot their houses take back to miller to sell. You can loot the Bowman and get a ton of bows and arrows and be set for most of the game. Lockpicking- if locks keep breaking change the lock pick difficulty in menu and they won’t break as often. Swords and strength - train with Captain Bernard and skills will increase fast
Blunt weapons are practically broken in this game they do massive stamina damage and people don’t usually have a lot of blunt defense. Also the combos are very nice. The only weapons I would use other than my war hammer would be Herods sword and Queen Sheba’s sword.
Luke Clarke it feels a lot like one that when you start, you feel utterly useless (in a more useless than being the Prisoner in Skyrim way) but by then end, you’ll be the most overpowered soldier in Bohemia
That guard tower is also a great place to raise your maintenance to max. I just bought up all the blacksmith tool kits and grabbed all the damaged weapons from the hard chest and went to town.
There is a free set of plate armor and a unique sword near Neuhof, and any weapon to fit your play style, except for a bow, all for free, in an already unlocked chest in a camp. All apart of the end game set called the St. George set.
Also if you fast travel to Neuhof on a horse there is a good chance you will come across a wander that wants to duel, if you can sneak behind him and knock him out you can steal his armor, but be sure to get back to the mill, and sleep to save, then load the save so the loot is not considered stolen
Random tip for anyone starting out, if you want 200g by the time you leave Skallitz, go upstairs into the traders house (Its the 2 story house in the central square) Go into the back room where you'll find a jug that says "open" not steal, although when inside the jug everything will be a steal prompt, you can actually sell it all back to the trader downstairs and the traders in the square, you'll find numerous spirits, mead, beer and schnapps each worth a decent penny, as well as a couple rare potions.
Nice! I actually looted every herb in Skalitz lol. Took about 2 hours. By the time I sold everything, I had bought 2 of every small repair kit (armor, blacksmith, cobbler, tailor), all the saviour schnapps, and had 200g. This would let me buy even more stuff for trading later on! Excellent tip, will definitely include it in my upcomign "Best possible start" video.
You can sell stolen items early on by going to the leather worker by Peshik's house, you may have to tip her an extra groschen but you can sell a small amount of stolen goods to her until her cash runs out.
Another tip. Grab the items and don’t get caught at it. Take them to the miller outside rattay and sell them to him. That should net you a nice little profit. Then go back to the swordsmith and purchase a legit sword not labeled as stolen so that guards don’t ask questions
I did the quest to find the ring off the dead body, and tried picking a few locks when the hangman ran for his flour. When I ran into ratay all the people somehow knew I tried picking locks, and glitched on repeat I would Serve three days and come out only to have the towns people call me a thief and I would have to serve another three days. Nine days in I gave up and restared
I wonder if he got stuck somewhere? Where you crouched down when lockpicking? I know it shouldn't matter since he was gone, but just trying to figure out why it would do that?
There’s no point to using this gear because you’re constantly being searched by guards who will take the loot. You need to “launder” the loot by selling it all to the Miller fence, then buy back one or two choice pieces to remove the “stolen” tag from the item.
Once you get the horse, you can just store stuff in it if you get searched - they won't take what's on your horse. As far as being searched: from what I understand so far, you only get searched if you've been spotted a lot in private areas, have close calls, and/or actually get caught lock picking. Basically you get a "bad reputation", but it does seem to go away after a while. It might also be affected by selling stolen goods to merchants. You can also just store stolen items in your chest, after after a few days, they're no longer "hot", so you can sell / wear them with no issues.
While stuck in Talmberg anything hot gets clean after going home. There's a video about it though. You can choke most guards out and either rent a room to store it, since your room inside has no chest, or just go encumbered since it really doesn't matter since everything automatically stores at the mill clean. For the very start it's helpful anyway.
Guards search you if you are dressed funny or unusual and stand out, along with bad reputation to them. If your reputation is high enough and overall famous with the locals, they won't bat an eyelid. Stealing is a double edged sword, as even when undetected, the rep system functions as a karma system.
So don't steal from Rattay if you wish to use the traders and walk around freely. When you beat Act 1 you get a free room to store stuff in Radzic's castle which reduces the distance needed to gear up.
The door is locked now at least on PS4. But you can climb the ladder in the wall and go in from the second floor. The guards never even stepped foot inside
@@YungSmokz glad to see people still playing I recently just built a pc so I’m playing all over again with mods...at least I was but cyberpunk has taken the fuck over
in the Run quest when saving theresa you can sneak up on one of the soldiers and choke him unconscious then loot his body and get on your horse and flee with cuman armor.
Lol I bumbled into brush at the start and got chopped by two enemies I couldn't see so didn't think I saved her at first when I got there and had people right on me the whole way. I didn't get used to the controls til loading Talmberg like 8 times to do everthing effeciently. I'll have to try that.
They can knock you off the horse. What's a good idea is stealing a halberd from Skalitz before triggering Run quest and killing the lone cuman behind you by not locking on and slashing him. This causes him to take full damage no matter what.
This is nice but I'm trying to build a honourable knight character and stealing is not in my repertoire and morals so I'm struggling with pretty much everything in the game at the moment but I still love KCD excellent game for those who have the perseverance to continue on 🙃
I have not tried it out myself because I am trying a more honorable play style, but yes it sounds like it is different from the storage chest. I had denied to help him with the grave robbery quest he offers you and I had a few more conversation texts come up. I asked him if he knew how I could sell stolen goods. He phrases it along the lines of he doesn't sell them but he would pay you to "store" those stolen goods. I assume that is an option to fence those stolen goods. He is probably just beating around the bush trying to sound like an honest citizen.
I did the quest - you can sell stolen goods to them, and they give you a better price than other merchants that buy your stolen goods. For most goods though, it's better to just store them at your chest and wait until they are no longer "hot".
Slashing weapons tend to be easier to use, but have the highest average armor levels on an opponent. Stabbing weapons come in just behind slashing in opponent armor levels. Bludgeoning weapons have the lowest armor levels of all. A "well" armored attacker with all three layers might have 50+ slashing protection, but barely 30 blunt protection. The best sword in the game will get you about 71 base damage; the best mace in the game will give you 60 base damage. That "best sword" is going to do 20-or-less damage to your attacker, while the "lower damage best-in-game mace" will do 30-or-more per hit.
Doing the quest for the Miller before you go to Rattay will give access to a serious fence, he usually has a few thousand Groschen to spend. Also Thumper isn't a unique weapon, but good to have for sure.
The Wanderer It's a really fun quest, I never play a holy perfect character lol, but I will say this game is gonna be interesting for a second playthrough with a completely different type of build, I vote GOTY by far.

There is a mod that allows you to sheath a pole arm so to speak. A bit unrealistic but adds a bit more use to the weapon. Maybe only have it on your horses inventory unless you want to use it to add some realism.

Unfortunately this is no longer viable the door is shut and locked with a hard lock. Are there any other recommendations for weapons at the beginning of the game or coin for that matter
It is open at certain times of the day, in the early afternoon I've found. Stupid thing is once you've stolen all the weapons they are never replaced. Yeah, that's realistic.
When you escape from Talmberg, you obtain the Talmberg armor from the armory so the guard at the gates opens the gate for you. At the same time you can also take a horse and ride out of the town with it. It won't be considered stolen, since you are dressed in Talmberg armor.
no one will search you if you have a good reputation, otherwise run and hide it in your chest. You can also stealth kill guards (make sure no one is looking) and loot them --> sell to the miller. This will make you over 5k/run.
-Get the morgrenstern -hit the road and find the faint hearted knight -tell him to bet his sword -he's one of the easiest enemies in the game -get the Munberg sword who has insane stats similiar to Queen Sheba sword with over 100 durability -requires 10 str -train about with yer mace on unconcious unkillable NPC bam 10 STR achived congrants you now broke the game

Toss it into the horse inventory and the guard won't find it =)
When you escape from Talmberg, you obtain the Talmberg armor from the armory so the guard at the gates opens the gate for you. At the same time you can also take a horse and ride out of the town with it. It won't be considered stolen, since you are dressed in Talmberg armor.
obsorsky That horse gets stolen right after that, doesn't count
no one will search you if you have a good reputation, otherwise run and hide it in your chest. You can also stealth kill guards (make sure no one is looking) and loot them --> sell to the miller. This will make you over 5k/run.
Great video, subbed.
aww not there anymore. seems like they removed it from the game.
-Get the morgrenstern
-hit the road and find the faint hearted knight
-tell him to bet his sword
-he's one of the easiest enemies in the game
-get the Munberg sword who has insane stats similiar to Queen Sheba sword with over 100 durability
-requires 10 str
-train about with yer mace on unconcious unkillable NPC
bam 10 STR achived
congrants you now broke the game
How much damage on it? I just got St. George's which is 72/72... seems like it may be the best in game?
Good stuff but I was almost caught I heard someone behind me but he didn’t bother me lol
Do these items respawn?
I am told that they do respawn over time.
Thumper was the first sword I found, it goes well
Nice man I need check this place
Theres a couple of pieces of armor in those chests
at start when u woke up at therese house : Go to NE to reach Neuhof then keep on NE till u reach the Large Road right after Neuhof .... Fallow the road to the Est then found a camp ! ( free chest with best all kind of weapon + plate armor + Tournament shield on the chest ! )
Thank you!! Going to check this out and may make a video on it as well. Is this one of the "treasure map" locations?
It's a, "very hard" lockpick chest though.
I couldn't get the weapon and armor in Rattay :( Couldn't find anyone to talk to about it... so I took 2k worth of swords from one of the lockboxes...
Good job taking initiative
I literally left the Tower near the church with about 700 pounds of weight.
Love the guides, less use of the word "actually" would put it over the top. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Actually, actually, actually
10 in 4 minutes ... actually
woow cool very uesfull video. thank you very much. i liked & subscribed
Probably be patched by the time I buy the game at the beginning of March....cool video though
It's not patched.
still not patched.
@@llKeey lol, I played the game all the way through before the first real patch dropped. I played with save files deleted randomly and constant freezes. But I still had a good time despite how poorly it played. I need to download it again and see how it plays nowadays.
It is locked
The door is locked for me
Its locked for me
I had a sword and it disapeared
That happens when you stab it into things =)
Yeah o i found this spot and thought this is to good to be true.
Best weapons oh sorry I'ma used my bare fists
sorry wrong page :S
Door is locked
It warms my heart that the devs saw this and nerfed it lol.
@TheWandererPlays you just have to sneak and wait, a guard will pull up and go inside leaving the door unlocked for you. 😊
A little bit of spit in the food is fine man its fine 👍
Actually actually actually
no need to buy anything. stick all stolen stuff in your own chest and forget about it. don't even do alchemy, it's stupidly OP. just explore and try not to kill anyone. even bandits, just kill the leader. this is not skyrim!
ez way to get armor in prolouge: just kill cumans💀
fixed long time ago.
you cant do it anymore.
@@spatrk6634 huh? But you can kill cumans with horseback!
@@hades8203 you cant anymore.
they knock you out of your horse much easier than before.
@@spatrk6634 okay then. But its alright.
TY
It's locked
Thank you
Thumper isn't unique
Actually...
Amaizing video
patched?
edit: yep patched
Delete this. All doors are locked, and radzig gives you nothing for joining him.
You get a blunt weapon when doing the night patrol quest so thats not wrong, and the door can be unlocked or just wait for a gurad to go it. Don't tell someone to delete a fucking 1 year old video lol
Your you tube voice is excruciating
Yeah well you look like a deranged psychopathic clown!
