One of my favorite Metallica songs. I am happy to see it in a reaction video. Sad but honest in its presentation. Unreconciled issues that can now never be reconciled. Talk while there is time.
There are a few songs on the Load and Reload albums (this is on Load ) that are on the mellow side. Very divisive albums, some hate them some love them .
What a great song.. country,,, soft rock.... what a combination... beautiful song and your reaction... amazing as always Tasha... love it ... thank you .... keep on reacting... always !!!
Amazing reaction Tasha ❤!!! Glad you enjoyed it!!! Mama Said is one of my favorite songs! During the mid 1990s, Metallica went through a hard rock/country/grunge phase. Their thrash metal fans didn't appreciate the huge stylistic change. However, musicians have to evolve and explore different sounds. Plus, James Hetfield's vocals are perfect around this time! If you want to find more hidden gems like Mama Said, check out Metallica's Load and Reload albums. For more country Metallica, listen to Bleeding Me; The Outlaw Torn; Hero of the Day; Low Man's Lyrics; Ronnie; Thorn Within; Unforgiven 2; Bad Seed. Thanks for the shout out!!!!
I am right there with you, Metallica is my ALL TIME favorite, but I have a great deal of love for any music that touches me emotionally, from Slayer to Rascall Flats, and anything in between.
Glad you love this (and Metallica) so much. This disappointed a bunch of fans (including me initially) when it came out because it was such a deviation, but it shows their range and open-mindedness to other genres and now I love it, and I think it's an underrated track of theirs.
Sometimes artists can’t win. When they keep doing the same thing they get called stale and when they take chances like this they get called out for turning their back on the fans. Personality i don’t have a problem when artist take chances. It might not always work but it’s better than just forcing yourself to do the same things
@@slothkng Of course, I absolutely agree, and I encourage taking chances. It's just that this, along with a certain couple of other tracks on Load were SUCH a departure at the time that it was a shock to the system at first.
Great band and song ..... you should listen to Nothing Else Matters if you love this one then Nothing Else Matters will blow you away !!! Keep up the great reactions and love You guys, stay safe too ! XXX. NMHRK
That... that was a bad spot to laugh. "But a cold stones all I see"... He was standing at his mothers grave. Literally. He wrote this for his deceased mother who died of cancer.
So much great older music which is worth the listen. Jim Croce is more folk singer like John Denver, than country, but he tells a story as well as country musicians do. Try "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce or "I got a Name" which was re-popularized in the movie Django.
Metallica is an awesome band. I would like to request an awesome Aussie band that is not around anymore. Because the lead singer is not with us anymore. R.I.P. Doc. The band is Angels, song is called: Take a long line. I hope you can do this. Have a great day, keep up the good work 👍🇦🇺 from Dave in Australia.
have you ever tried listening to the Dead South... In Hell I'll Be In Good Company I didnt know they had a country song either ty for the reaction video
James lost his mom at a very young age and he wrote this song as of regret for not spending more time with her and hopes she will still love him when they’re reunited after death
James Hetfield loves country music. Also football, NASCAR, hunting, etc. His dad was an old trucker, after all. He even plays into the fact that he's become that stereotypical "dad" archetype by calling himself "Papa Het".
I've never heard of this, and I'm glad they didn't go too twangy. I hate that the other guys weren't in it. Parts of this remind me a bit of The Unforgiven II: ruclips.net/video/5bt7kAVxKfs/видео.html
Try Metallica album "reload" the song "low man's lyric". It's all about addiction and losing to it. Hard to listen to, especially if you know someone suffering.
I have a request I have never made one I do not think on your channel could you do Elvis Presley if I can dream it's where he's in the white suit please
How is it not Metallica? Just because every song doesn’t sound like Seek and Destroy doesn’t make it not Metallica. There is always more then one side to every band.
The whole Load album is a stone cold classic in my book
"Hero of the Day" is a good one.
One of my favorite Metallica songs. I am happy to see it in a reaction video. Sad but honest in its presentation. Unreconciled issues that can now never be reconciled. Talk while there is time.
One my favs..i been requesting someone do this...finally!!!❤
”Low Mans Lyric” is another song like this. Irish folk.
yea good pick its a great song
I love low mans lyric.
Never knew they did anything like this! Really good.

Hey Gene, thanks for this recommendation. I never knew this was Metallica. Just never put it together. I hope she does more stuff you recommend.
I am right there with you, Metallica is my ALL TIME favorite, but I have a great deal of love for any music that touches me emotionally, from Slayer to Rascall Flats, and anything in between.
I would never in a million years have thought that this would have been a Metallica song!
and millions of metallica fans hope its not a metallica song:)
@@magnusmagnusson8302 hahaha that's fantastic for me tho I love it i dig everything minus st anger
@@magnusmagnusson8302 They are not Metallica fans but Trash metal fans.
@@magnusmagnusson8302 and others appreciate it
@@Bushanie24 yep
Great review! Love when someone goes in unbiased and enjoys it purely for the song 🤘
One of the saddest songs by Metallica...
Never knew they had a video for this song.
Awesome 👍😎!!!! I didn't know they had country either!!!! 😲😲❣️

Wow! Fantastic! Thanks Tasha! 😊🌹
Load is so underrated. Bleeding me, The Outlaw Torn. Those are like two of my favorite Metallica songs
Great band and song ..... you should listen to Nothing Else Matters if you love this one then Nothing Else Matters will blow you away !!! Keep up the great reactions and love
You guys, stay safe too ! XXX. NMHRK
Metallica writes better country songs than most country artists nowadays.
Bingo!
I just like how he gets out of the fake car at the end hahaha
Goodness this gave me goosebumps .. great reaction my friend ❤️☮️🔥 TaTa James would make a great country singer. But like his metal better.
Low Man's Lyric! Low Man's Lyric!
Fucking great song
You should react to their cover of Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Keep in mind--his mama died when he was 16. 😢
Great song love it!!!
That... that was a bad spot to laugh.
"But a cold stones all I see"...
He was standing at his mothers grave. Literally. He wrote this for his deceased mother who died of cancer.
James was influenced by country and southern rock in addition to 70's rock/metal. Metallica got away from thrash quite a bit throughout the 90's.
Quite a bit xD
Honestly it's really their only song that sounds remotely country. Most of the songs from the Load and Reload albums have more blues influence.
Low men’s lyrics Are another one!
@@scorpionking4012 not really
Mr. IIconic Why not, that song have James sounds great.

Nothing these boys can't do...
If the boys released an entire album like this,I'd still buy it. James M F Hetfield.🤘

James Hetfield's dad was from Arkansas so he grew up listening to country music.
Isn’t this a great song?! Metallica baby! 😂 Thank you so much for reacting to it!
Ahh, Metallica's country song.
Finally, the streams have crossed. 😂
I love the Load album, not load itself. Mama said is a look inside James' head
Great, just great !
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
suggestions sorta like this .. Pearl jam " Breathe" and old school Kiss " Beth"

Metallica does not have a single country song wtf
... yes, its so good, ... but its just not metallica!!!
How is it not Metallica? Just because every song doesn’t sound like Seek and Destroy doesn’t make it not Metallica. There is always more then one side to every band.
Metallica is whatever they decide to play.
Literally Metallica made it. How the hell you gonna say it's not Metallica. Stfu clown
Then you are not a true Metallica fan for not accepting the band by what it is
