Mothers let's learn something here, I'm quoting "I was never close to my mother, she was too strict and instructipmal....." let's all learn, the mom thought she was disciplining the kid but she was pushing him away at the same time. LET'S LEARN, 😭 let's open those friendship and communication doors with our kids without being too easy! Sometimes you just have to let it go. My dad and my mum are from the same village but they separated after I was born. From then I never saw my dad in my life again because he used to work in the city and he would rarely come home. I tried connect with him when I joined highschool in vain. I even called him alot but he never answered. I struggled in highschool with fees and life was really tough. After highschool, I tried to look for him to help me with college but he never responded. I got lucky to move abroad for my studies and so far I am doing well. This is what I learned, don't ever forced yourself to somebody. Love those who love you and leave those who dislike you. They will just come by themselves. Bitter truth is that your dad doesn't like you. Just concentrate on your life, at least that experience has coached you to be a good future dad to your kids.

My goodness .God bless this man and forgive him for not helping his sister but also for not helping himself.I went through the same with my mothers male cousin from age 7-9 years. My mom who is a nurse never even realized that I was being abused after getting so sick for so long.Relatives gossiped about my sickness they all knew what I had.My parents were so strict I couldn’t tell them what was going on under their own roof.Talking to my parents was so difficult because of fear.Later in my 30,s a few years ago when I told her ,her response was “why did you not tell me ,maybe you liked it “🥺.I was a child.
The abuse affected me for so long,I always wanted to leave home and never come back, home was not a safe place for me.I lashed out a lot and made some choices that affected me until today,I wanted to meet someone and desperately get married and never come back home,I met an abusive man again and got pregnant while in University and he refused to care for his children (I had triplets at age23)
God used everything to bless me.I am so grateful to
God for his love and forgiveness, for today I hold tight to God and believe in his word and 10 commandments which I follow deligently .As a single mom I warned my daughters at a very young age to never allow any man to touch them or see them naked. They don’t even allow me to see them with a towel or dressing up as teenagers and have grown to be such disciplined girls who don’t care about going out to meet men or things of the world.I have allowed them to come to me with every problem and I don’t judge them .
God bless those who have suffered in silence because of decisions made by those who should be caring for them.
The man who molested me died later in my 20,s.
Parents give your children room to Approach you while they are hurting .Be their first go to person.Be open with your children and protect them from such monsters.

I’m searching for my dad , I’m now 37 years old. I understand that he also rejected me and disappeared as soon as he heard that my mum was pregnant with me. But again, my mum was still in high school.. my mum doesn’t talk about this at all, my aunts, uncle and my grandparents also never talk about it or they claim that they don’t know anything about him. I some how blame my mom for not telling me exactly what happened then. The relationship with mum is also not the best, I keep trying to be a nice daughter, but there’s lots of tension. Given that I grew up with my maternal grandparents in the village, mum was always away in the city “working” and after some years she came to Europe with her mzungu who later married her and also joined them years later when I was 16 years old. All this has made it hard to search for my dad, coz I’m not in Kenya , I’ve tried all ways.. my hope is LYNN too, lakini I know it’s tough coz I only have his 2 names and the place he used to work, where he was lastly seen. I don’t even know what next, but I must find him!!!!! This is all I need now and maybe I will be at peace in my heart!

Sad story and great lessons to parents. Don't beat yourself for not doing anything and freezing when you entered that room. Fight, Flee or Freeze are our human responses to traumatic situations. That was traumatic... Thank your for being brave for speaking out.

Yes indeed. He too had been sodomized for years !!!!as a little boy. That reaction is exactly what a sexually abused child would do

That's why i feel bad for the boy who was taken by a man who is not even his biological dad. The man uses his position as he works in judiciary to frustrate the mother who lives in Australia to get her son back or even to see him. May be even the boy is being molested by that guy makokha. Lynn should cover that story, it was in Tuko.

Grown ups can treat kids as they wish, but let it be understood to them that kids never forget,as much as they may wish kids forgot whatever was done to them..I'm now convinced that, this is happening in almost every family, not just to girls, boys are being molested too.are we talking to kids enough? Are we being friendly enough for them to open up?. I watched THE GAME'S documentary( the rapper) who also walked on his own father molesting his kid sister.,that's when they were taken to foster care.and the father in prison..tells you how serious western countries take this accusations serious.you can't just let the same person ruining kids close to them anymore..I saw a gangster rapper shed tears telling that story.

When you think you have heard it all from Lynn’s chair, then you hear more and more painful stories. I am glad that this young man has healed. I hope we of this generation can be better parents, especially where co-parenting is concerned. Blended families need to be a norm and even if parents have separated, kids should be raised by both. Make an arrangement that works for the children. There is absolutely no reason this man should have missed out on having a dad. God please heal our land.

Nobody should trust a relative because they can be child molesters .I didn’t know that there were such men in our Kenyan community.
Lynn Ngugi thanks for sharing this program and showing us all is not well in families.
Children should be told not to trust relatives, friends or any other person who gets to be to friendly.

I miss that a lot, he has other children and I guess he can’t find it in his heart to keep any contact. So sad . Thanks @Lynn Ngugi for bringing people who can open up because this is like a support group for people how have the same traumas and can’t talk about it.

Thank you mike for taking the therapy and coming out to share! Inconsistency is a reality and it can easily make us lose our focus! So mike remember there are many out here that have benefited in your sharing be blessed 🙏🏼

This is a picture of a dog or a pig that eats its young ones immediately after birth to ensure it survives. A chicken that protects chicks not from her eggs yet with all powers. To every child that has ever been brought up by a single mom or dad or any parent figure be safe because someone feels your absence is their survival.
Am one of those eggs that landed in hands of good chicken but am sorry to say the dog/pig parent is forgiven and enjoying my success after the chicken fought all the burdens.
