"Quitting Day," also commonly called "Quitter's Day," refers to the second Friday of January, which is considered the day when many people tend to give up on their New Year's resolutions due to waning motivation after the initial excitement of the new year fades away; essentially, it marks the point where a large number of people abandon their goals.
    👏Do. Not. Give. Up!

I've been debt free for years now. But I have gotten lazy--not tracking my spending, no focused goal, etc. I was shocked to see how much I was spending on eating out and my hobbies. Looking forward to improving the situation this year. Thanks for your helpful pointers!

At 54….I’m coming very late in the game, but I want to start and fund a Roth IRA in 2025. I just started cash budgeting last January and haven’t done too much for retirement. With my debt paid off, I want this to be my focus moving forward….better late than not at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤩

I spent all weekend putting my budget together. I have 54 debts and there isn't a single tracker out there that has that much room on it. I had to get creative with a digital budget sheet. I set it all up on a snowball debt payoff routine. I felt physically sick looking at all the debt I have. It's over $54k. It's a combination of credit cards, personal loans, Affirm debt, and student loans. I've been fixating on my spreadsheet for 2 days now. This year has been very traumatic for me as I've been recovering from 2 bariatric surgeries. I've lost 125lbs in the past 9 months. Now 2025 will be all about losing debt. I was an emotional eater as well as an emotional spender. I've tackled one - I'm sure I can tackle the other. It's just going to take time. I do have an emergency fund already set up so that was checked off my list first. Now this debt......sigh.

I've identified my 5 culprit spending places for my credit cards. I'm doing a no spending on craft supplies and unnecessary items next year. I'm crafting my way through my craft room and selling the items I make. I've experimented with crafting and selling in the month of Dec and was able so far to make an extra $460. That's probably more than I'd make on a part-time job. I've created a budget that looks promising. We shall see. I'm excited for 2025 debt payoff starter journey.

You can do it, I understand about spending a lot on craft supplies. I used to do that as well but I have gotten so much better and I no longer spend money on so many things. I’ve actually made some money selling supplies I haven’t used in a long time.

So glad I found your channel!!! We have a written zero-based budget, in a dedicated binder with a sheet that tracks each budget item (mortgage, dental, water, garbage, groceries, auto insurance, etc...). I balance our budget against our checkbook and bank statement twice a month (pay days). We just paid off our car (we have 2 cars fully paid off) and only have our mortgage left. I pay off the credit card every month but my goal is to STOP AMAZON PURCHASES for at least 30 days, then I can go from there!!! I have a terrible habit of Amazon orders. We are a one income family and I am home with our children. Looking forward to no spend January and then a low spend for the remainder of the year. We use a lot of hand-me-downs and thrift finds for clothing and home goods. Looking forward to watching you this month for encouragement! Happy New Year!
