Under horrible observing conditions we zoomed in to planet Venus. Named after Lady Gaga's hit song. It was hypothesized that Venus once was a Moon of planet X, and was left behind when it came through our Solar System and messed everything up. At the same time, Uranus began spinning in a polar direction, Mars lost it's atmosphere and Earth stopped spinning for a day.
Just so you know, all of that was pure baloney. Except the Lady Gaga part.
But no, really, I haven't found any evidence for that hypothesis.
I did find this however: www.sciencealert.com/why-are-...
Today I learned about Tidal Torque and how it could have slowed and eventually reversed Venus' spin, along with some large impacts. I also learned that it is difficult to determine if a large impact caused this alone. Mainly due to Venus' surface being relatively new, with little impact craters to point at.
If I am wrong about any of this, please let me know!!
    Clear skies!
