Trevor is the gem of the synthwave but sadly the genre is so underrated...
frankly, synthwave doesn't exist nowadays
Not just the genre, but him in general.
I'm in a few Synth groups on Facebook and have only seen 2 guys mention him....☹️
it's actually pretty far from underrated at this point. The problem is a lot of "early" synthwave artists have already made their stay and a lot of new synthwave artists aren't being recognized. That's why it feels underrated. In my opinion, Synthwave peaked in 2015 at the height of overall popularity.
It's a narrow genre unfortunately.
Nowadays artists need to be more versatile, and mix few other styles in their music..
I mean, I love Trevor, but being "synthwave only" can't scale nor grow a large base of audience.. I can become boring eventually.
It's okay. Popularity brings money, money ruin everything. Every single thing which got popular inherently either ended or was made worse.
This guy is on a whole different level than everyone else in the genre. One of my all time favorite artists.

Trevor Something has came out with better music & videos than this. The editing for this is even off. No real story line then showing off 2-3 different sexy women. He is only supposed to be obsessed with ONE in this song, not many. Makes no sense. #myopinion
I don't know. This is incredibly well shot and these girls are heckin working it to perfection and I appreciate it. Any criticism of the song is ... weird..if you're a fan of his work this is incredibly on par with a lot of his earlier stuff. He's good about alternating his style so if you don't care for this lighten up and hang tight. I'm sure he's got something for you in the works

@@neowat1475 That's because they have unrefined tastes in music. Most people I've introduced to Trevor, love it. This song in particular is a masterpiece. Its dark, sexual, has beautiful melody and great rhythm. The music video fits so perfectly with it.

I think there's a hidden story arc here.
The first half of the Bots Dont Cry album tells of how Trevor met the love of his life.
Then in the second half, things took a bad turn and Trevor lost his lover.
Now Trevor hopes new love will cure his depression and/or obession with his former lover.

"Love Will Cure Depression" this line resonates with me so bad, been broken down since like 2009-10 and have only been close to being me again just once and that was only last year, only to be thrown back down the rabbit hole.

@@xaxas94 it's hard to tell a lot of the time with Trevor, for "I hate your face" I didn't even realise the lyric was "you should commit suicide" for at least two weeks. 🤣 Given the context of almost all of his songs I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

It kinda peaked in 2015 and, unfortunately, it seems like the gatekeepers who had to demand Synthwave maintain the 80s sound kinda knocked it off track as the 80's nostalgia faded away.
