This is an awesome trick! The only thing that is kind of annoying is that there is a setup, but other than that, this is a good simple little trick!

As a mathematician, I love card tricks that do not require any slight of hand skill (because I don’t have any LOL). The Ace of Spades is always going to be the 9th card from the top.
If the spectator:
chooses 10, then 10-1=9
chooses 11, then 11-2=9
chooses 12, then 12-3=9
chooses 13, then 13-4=9
…..
chooses 19, then 19-10=9
So regardless what number the spectator chooses, the indicated card will be the Ace of Spades. It’s my opinion that many folks would see through this charade .. but I'll concede that, perhaps no-one except us math nerds would be paying close attention to the arithmetic. That's where the false cut becomes very valuable. It would certainly confuse/fool me as a spectator. So I'll give you an "A". Fyi 20 doesn’t work.

This is such a cool card trick, I wish there wasnt a set up but it looks awesome to the spectators!

The mathematical part is when you take the digits, add them up, and subtract from the original numbers, you either get 9 or 18 which is a multiple of 9. I think that has something to do with it.
Love this trick! Thanks!! I am wondering, though. When I use the number 12, of course, I don't get all the way through the 13 cards. Therefore, I cannot show the Royal Flush, because I am missing the king and Queen. Am I making sense? The same, but opposite, is true if I use a larger number. Did I miss something? Thoughts?

Doesnt work if they choose 20 but otherwise great trick. Personally, when i do the trick i say: Pick a number between 9 and 20.
Then if they say nine or 20 you say:
I said between nine and 20. It cant be nine and it cant be 20 but u can pick any number in between

So a wuick question. What do I do if ny language uses less letters to say ace of spades (we say Pick ász in hungary) so how can I shorten it?

Maybe if the Ace of Spades seems fishy,place the 4 of spades between the Ace and the king, now their card is the four of spades, spell out four(or place 4)and you have the 4 aces, the rest of the spades in spades and if you were a poker player you may want a good hand so you can take the ace of spades we just created and get a royalflush with the next 4 cards
BTW if they don't choose 15 it doesn't work

Carolyn Richardson Since it requires a setup I would just have a second deck of cards with the same format, except try using hearts or any of the other suits except diamond (you can still try clover just don’t use the s) and have the Ace of that suit as their main card if you want to do it again.

still should work as long as the number is between 10 and 20
Pizic 10 works, because you need to go down by one (1+0), but 20 won't work, because you need to go down by 11 and it needs a really good explanation, why you now want to go down by eleven (2 is 1+1, so 11?). Perhaps say a number between 10 and 19?
Technically, the range can be anything 9 and up. Depending on how good at math you want to be.
IF they pick 20, I would probably tell them: "Sorry I meant actually between 10 and 20 not 'from' 10 to 20." So you can sort of sell it like that.

Very nice trick....but you should rehearse a little when you film. It seems very disjointed and you say "basically" alot. Practise a few times, then film...it will be much better. Thanks for sharing the trick.

I've tried it multiple times, there is no math stuff. You need to be lucky that the number will end on the spade

Like a lof presenters you talk too fast. Run the video and listen to yourself. Give people time to absorb what you are saying.. It could mean I have a slow mind but I am an aeronautical engineer so I don't think so.
