Just ordered mine here in NW AR. Be next week before it arrives. I am excited to get my first petrol reel mower and Rolux seems to be a great machine with a proven track record.
Mine is a 1987 model and pre-garden service used unit and still running strong. In 36 years the reel was only replaced last year. It is not only the Toyota of mowers but rather the Hilux of mowers.
Howsit! Great Channel. Please do an episode about lawn seed selection. I'm getting ready to reseed and there has to be more than what's available at builders warehouse.
Yep, they are just now arriving here in the US. I'm seriously thinking of making a change from my 20" CT to the 25" Rolux. What I especially like about your South African gem is the rear drive roller. It clearly will make for easier turning. I hate hate hate the wheels on the American made machines.
No I'm just a lawn enthusiast with a youtube channel. But I now have quite a good relationship with the people at Rolux because of the channel. Such enjoyable people, and so passionate about what they do. Thanks for watching the video, much appreciated 🙏🏻
The Rolux is flying off the shelves here in the states and very well recieved so far! I can not wait to get one myself, and yes ill be keeping it in classic red, but remeber this, yall still get to have the Honda motors, were stuck with Briggs and Stratton
@@salawn I defintely prefer hondas they are much more fuel efficient, and more quiet, plus they start of first pull every time, my other choices would be electric, or Kowasaki
Came to RUclips to look up Rolux, because I recently heard that Reel Rollers is bringing the Rolux to the USA. Looks like it's going to be different from what I see on the Rolux site. I'm very curious how well it does. I liked your video. 👍🏻
Great video I am looking to get either the 20 or 25. I currently have a jacobsen greens mower but this mower really intrigues me. Do you think its worth it to have a greens mower and the Rolux?
I do sense the sarcasm but I’m coming from a John Deere 180c. All chain gear driven, belt clutch from motor. For precision and durability there is no equal. Super fine cut. What you are claiming is a thin blade on the Toro is because it is relief ground. That is the difference. We are not new to reel mowing. This is what we cut PGA golf course greens with. Our problem is we have a huge disparity between home low cut mowers and commercial greens mowers. A new John Deere greens mower is between 10-15 thousand dollars US and currently a 2 year wait period. A used ready to go John Deere,Toro, Jacobsen off a golf course is between $1800-3500 USD and it will last a home owner a lifetime. That’s a 10-13 year old mower. That is how robust we build them. The home market is quite different. Honestly the biggest deal is that damn rear drum. For over 30 years the home market has had rear wheels which create grooves on fine lawns. True enthusiasts here mow below 1/2” or 14mm. We are happy to welcome the Rolux. But don’t think for a second that we haven’t had a better option. Any 2010 John Deere is more precise than the the Rolux. It’s not even close with the fat blade and probably no relief on the bed knife. In fact, if you show that fat blade to a greens mower owner they will have that thing relief ground to thin it out. The truth has been told
Awesome comment man. I must agree with you. Just between me and you I really only compared the two because that was the only American thing I could get my hands on to play the SA vs USA rivalry. I agree with the fact that this machine is really built for home yards. However before this bottom blade I had a Professional/Rolux relief ground blade on, which they use on their greens machine I believe, and that worked awesome on my putting green. But ja, thanks for an insightful perspective. I hope I can get my hand on the JD and other American mowers to really build a strong perspective as to how good our machine is. Cheers my friend. Thanks for watching🙏🏻
Another great video. Ek stem saam! And the worst part is I can’t afford one. Now to see what they will be priced at in the States.
Compelling machine, especially like the rubber rear roller. I cringe each time I roll my toro aluminum roller over my driveway and sidewalk. The sound it makes is terrible.
@GRogers41728 I love both. The Rolux tend to be my go to mower. But that's just because I sometimes mow my 4 sections of lawn all at different heights. And the Rolux is just unbelievably simple to set compared to the toro. But if you want to be a crazy lawn scientist then the toro is probably better..
Waiting on that first US review vid... A K@k review means they talking K@k - no doubt... This is like SA introducing the US to the Harley of Mowers... Let them experience a "real reel"
After you apologize to the Toyota company you are welcome to come and pickup this piece of crap up. Nothing but trouble right out of the box. Bolts falling off left and right and a chain broken with only 32 hours of use.
The mirror "Reel Mower" Cracked me up!!

It’s great to see Rolux is bringing an amazing cylinder mower to the American market at a great price point!
