- Sometimes going back to where it all started can put things back into perspective, and after having two of the best years of his carp fishing career, that’s exactly what Dave Levy did.
A campaign to meet old friends in the shape of a handful of very old carp. It’s been over 30 years since Dave has fished the Ski Lake, so join him as he follows his own footsteps on a mission to catch some of the oldest carp in Essex.

I fished Aquatels from 1979/80 onwards, I was only 9, done loads of weekends there under an umbrella and tarp😂😂good old days catching carp with a set of optonics and my mates
I’ve never seen so many mega looking carp in one lake. Brilliant stuff
Fished it in the 80s as a kid never had a carp out and used to swim off the beach

Remember this lake well Remember and few off the regulars that fished it even Remember when tony use to stock solar tackle and bait. And then fished it with quench and and the small fishy boillies I think they were 8 or 10 miller's a lot of memories And learnt a awful lot on aquatels not only the lake but some of the angler's on there. RIP TONY hope you're catching the big girl's up there

What I mean lads is bream and tench can’t break them up. In there you can use hookbaits only.

All well and good if you don’t pay for your bait and only one person is fishing the lake,Dave is a great angler but to the normal angler never gets these conditions just advertising campaign for his many companies he works for?
Remember mate, I’ve fished 38 years and have spent thousands on bait. If I wasn’t sponsored I’d still use what I needed.

Actually there is 35 members, why was it busy? I waited two years to get on. My bait isn’t free. I’ve spent years learning and got myself into a good position, no one gave me free. For 15/18 years I fished 25 nights a year and work my socks off. Where was your comments then? I hope you’re work hard at your dreams. X
