The Steelers are getting used, but they’ve already devoted so much every toward trying to snag a receiver they feel they cannot give up. They have to win the battle. What killed any chance of Aiyuk coming to Pittsburgh wasn’t Russ and JF but that O-Line. Receivers need to know their QBs are protected so the QBs can deliver the rock. No elite receiver wants to play force squad whose O-Line is still developing.
9ers offensive line was horrendous in pass protection last year. Aiyuk, Shanahan and Purdy still made it happen. Arthur Smith is a red flag. You're kidding yourself if you thought Russ has looked anything close to viable so far. It's only preseason, but he looks worse than ever. Fields is going into year 4, and still doesn't look ready.
