I’ve never been interested in miniatures, have never made a miniature, and will never make a miniature. Yet somehow RUclips suggested your channel to me and since then I’ve watched every video with bated breath beginning to end. Ah, the mysteries of life.
You are just so amazing ! Your details, makes your miniatures look all the more realistic. You give me such inspiration that I want to make this today ! Thank you ❤ !! I LOOOOVE all your techniques and your teachings.
I was watching one of ypur older videos with my 7 y.o. daughter yesterday and then when we started a newer one she shrieked "O.M.G.!! A Voice Reveal!!!!". SO exciting. I think your choice to do voiceovers was great, I think we all enjoy your humor & the tips you provide so I just wanted to say thanks for taking the leap to add voice.
I just watched a guy spend hours trying to make bare tree trunks for a display and I'm like, why? Just go get a stick! Then I watched this and there you are, using sticks like a sane person. And simply burning them for authenticity to boot! Now that's what I call slow-roasted goodness.
I really appreciate that you use the five color method where all the colors compliment each other. It’s the same method encouraged in oil painting and i’m so happy to see it in miniatures!
I think you’re reaching a new level of realism with inexpensive materials. This is so inspiring for me, I have many large fireplaces in my future and I see many things that will help me with making them more realistic. Thank you, as always, for sharing your work and making the mini world a great place ❤❤❤ xx
I only remember to upvote videos when something funny or interesting happens. Throughout your videos, I keep twitching toward the thumbs up button, only to find I've already pushed it lol Love your humor and the video content, thanks for sharing!
This is a fabulous fire-it with fiery forked flames and firewood! Your wonderful dry humor is always the highlight of my day, thank you for always making me both smart and smiley!
I love the added toilet paper for texture, seems like such a no brainer technique and I've never thought to do that, I guess that says a lot about my brain! lol. Awesome result! Thank you!
Another way to make flames is to squeeze out flame shapes of hot glue on a silicone mat (or a piece of hard plastic) and color them with alcohol inks when they're cooled. (Stick the whole thing in the freezer for a few minutes to speed the cooling process.) I drop just a tiny drip of ink on the glue and then quickly wipe it with a torn piece of paper towel or napkin - the torn edge helps to feather the ink. To attach them just add a little more hot glue to the bottom edge and press in place. Your firepit turned out great! Can't wait to see where it ends up.
My husband is a worry wart. Im not able to have a real firepit.😪 He can't stop me from making this. 😁 My dollhouse will literally be a mix of all the dreams, poopood on.😅😂
As always, this is so brilliant. Also I almost peed myself laughing when you said „if it looks like FrootLoops you‘re on the right track“ because literally the second before I was thinking „hmmm, looks like FrootLoops“ 😂😂😂
Hello I really like your work and your Chanel. I have subscribe your Chanel!! I love landscape modelling. Sorry my Englisch I am from Switzerland. Greetings from Switzerland Alex 🤗🤗👍😊
How creative you are. That fire pit turned out beautiful. You didn't embarrass yourself you learn as you go along which makes it fine. lol This could also work really great as a well with a bucket and roof for show. Giving me ideas for sure. Have a terrific day
Love your sense of humor, love your attention to detail, love your inventiveness using everyday items to create a miniature--what's NOT to love about everything you make!? Just sayin'😊❤😊
I'm not a miniaturist but I love, love, love your creativity, humor and especially your skill, attention to detail and your ability to bring your scenes to life with those tiny extras. I do a lot of other crafts and I have learned so many new skills from you that I now apply. I am the recent, very happy owner of my first heat gun and set of 123 blocks. I don't know how I lived (or crafted) without them. I've tried my hand at paint "washes" and popsicle stick floors. I'm getting better with practice! I'm so glad that your videos popped up as a suggestion.
We had a bad storm a couple of months ago here and my daughter lives in a rental house and half the tree came down. They still haven’t been out there to clean it up. Point being I went out there and took a whole bunch of twigs and small limbs for future use in crafting. This is super cute and I love it! Definitely going to have to give it a try. Love your work. You are incredibly talented.
Another great vid and learned something again! I always check out Poundland (here in UK) and the larger stores/supermarkets for 'out of season' fairy and tea lights which is especially good when starting out. Hope to progress onto wiring my own lighting set ups in the future. Tea lights certainly help enhance miniature structures that would otherwise be somewhat lifeless; if ya get me drift?! I used one in a Celtic roundhouse I made (apart ffrom the tea light, all from scratch) and it really looks like someone's home! Thanks again for sharing! ❤
This is so cool, i have been looking for a technique to add stones to the outside of my dolls house and this may be the winner. Seriously this little stone fire looks so realistic
I definitely suggest it! I recommend trimming the foam core to fit on the house, holding it temporarily with tape, tracing the stones where the corners meet, but doing most of the shaping with the foam board detached. It's a lot easier to work on a tabletop vs vertical walls.
This is such an adorable fire. I made one a while back for a little Halloween diorama and i sure wish i had seen yours first, mine is nowhere near as awesome. Maybe i can take it apart and start over. Your talent and personality are awesome. Thanks
Great video, your flame technique looked fantastic. BTW I have used your brick strip method to clad my two-foot-tall playable medieval tower with stone bricks. Instead of newspaper and egg carton, I used thin but tough un-dyed cardstock and Readi-Board, with Weld Bond for glue. It worked perfectly, and I am in your debt for saving me many days of individual brick laying.
I'm adding a cauldron to my witches diorama and was trying to figure out how make it look on fire. This really helps. Btw, I made most of it from dt. I also live in Mass. Love your videos and learn so much from you. Thank You!!
This turned out really well! I've been looking everywhere for these types of flickering tealights but haven't been lucky to spot any near me! Would love to try making this someday!
I saw the well with a skeleton down in it, prior to Halloween..made it with clay and distresses, but love the embossing of foam. Cant wait to try it on flooring or walls next Halloween project. THANKS for going slow and being thorough!
This turned out brilliantly, I already have a well in my diorama so this would be a great addition as medieval people had to heat water for washing, both themselves and clothing etc, so this is perfect, I just have to work out how they suspend things over fires because I think wooden tripods would burn? I could be wrong however lol!

I feel the same way. Just so enjoyable to know the secrets of your creativity. 😊
You should try it. Alot of fun. Be careful, it's addictive!
Just enjoy watching too 😊
You are being drug into our wonderful world of minis. Its a great journey. 😊
It looks so realistic! I love the burnt wood and flickering tea light. 😍
Little does she know, her ideas make the best pieces for tabletop miniature games......the dungeon master is well pleased!
😎
I love that people are using my techniques to make items for tabletop games. I don't play those types of games, but I do watch Black Magic Craft.
Bread slices, fruit loops! 😂 you crack me up! The fire is 🔥, looks so good!
I was hungry while I did the voiceover 😆 Everything looked like food to me.
You are just so amazing ! Your details, makes your miniatures look all the more realistic. You give me such inspiration that I want to make this today ! Thank you ❤ !! I LOOOOVE all your techniques and your teachings.
I watch others making things and I sometimes think to myself "Shyra would have done it this way" 😅
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that.
Awww, thank you!
‘….this is just dollar tree foam on a tea light, so it’s not that serious…’ The humor just gets me. ❤️
I call it like I see it 😆

That is awesome! It takes SO much more time to record and edit voiceover, but it's really appreciated.
She really is so extremely talented. You learn so many things from just watching each episode and then if you watch them again you’ll learn more!
I just watched a guy spend hours trying to make bare tree trunks for a display and I'm like, why? Just go get a stick! Then I watched this and there you are, using sticks like a sane person. And simply burning them for authenticity to boot! Now that's what I call slow-roasted goodness.
Haha, true! The real thing makes life easier.
What I love the most about your video how to's is the attention to the details. Well done.
Thank you very much! I try
I really appreciate that you use the five color method where all the colors compliment each other. It’s the same method encouraged in oil painting and i’m so happy to see it in miniatures!
Glad it was helpful! I'm not familiar with oil painting techniques, so that was dumb luck.
I love how the different colors make the stone look so natural.
Thank you! It seems like a bad idea, but it works so well.
@@queencityminis You have been at this longer than I have. So I trust your instincts. The stonework and the end results look amazing!

Damn! Next time 😆
This is a fabulous fire-it with fiery forked flames and firewood! Your wonderful dry humor is always the highlight of my day, thank you for always making me both smart and smiley!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I learned the hard way about adding glue to flocking too 😂
I still randomly forget about squeezing the air out of the glue bottle 😆
Let's be real: I often still forget 😆
I do wish Dollar Tree or some of the other dollar stores would carry miniatures like Temu.😊👏💚
Dollar Tree has the cheap wooden furniture
I love the added toilet paper for texture, seems like such a no brainer technique and I've never thought to do that, I guess that says a lot about my brain! lol. Awesome result! Thank you!

I’ve seen this done before on a Doll channel for 🎉1:6 scale dolls.
Yaaay a new Queen City minis video!!! “It’s not that serious” is a great attitude towards making art and having fun ❤
Absolutely! Early on, I'd stress when making minis. Little Gretchen's Workshop helped me realize I needed to chill the eff out.
@@queencityminis omg yes!!! She’s so soothing it’s like self care for me to listen to her saying it’s ok to mess up. The mother we all wish we had.
That looks amazing! I love that you use simple items we probably all have lying around!
Yes! Thank you! That's kind of my thing
I don't do miniatures, but landed on your channel and love watching you work...also your dry humor is wonderful.
