Sinead, watching this at work "night shift" and at break. I think that the Shard is one of the most outstanding new buildings in the UK. It's dramatic but elegant in its simplicity. For a "OLD" building for me it has to be Palace of Westminster, just for the history of it. Sinead, it looks like you had a great day with your family, someday I'll buy you a coffee in person........... Thanks for your time, work and posting.

It's higher because the observation platform is on a higher floor then that from The Shard and the top 200'ft or so of The Shard isn't even habitable because it's all glass rigging. If and when they finally build 1 Undershaft it'll be the same height as The Shard but have a higher viewing point then either that or 22BG.

The Thames carries a large amount of silt downstream, which is why it looks brown, even though it is usually one of the cleanest rivers passing through a city in Europe. There are over 100 species of fish living in the Thames, including salmon and trout. The silt in the Thames is deposited in huge areas of sandbanks at the mouth of the estuary.

Please clarify: You said it was free but you went on to say several times that they sell tickets. Is it free or not?

The Shard's viewing areas are on floors 68 to 72 - strange that Horizon 22 is on floor 58 yet higher.

We went last week and enjoyed it (especially looking down on the Sky Garden). But Sinead, it’s not 360 degrees, only 300!! It misses out on parts of north London. As already mentioned, the Mayor and his office moved out a while ago. I don’t know what their former HQ will end up as.
