A bit of irony in 58:06, Maybe Partying Will Help. I wonder what the band was thinking about this gig.

What a band! Tried to see them at Safari Sam's in Huntington back in 85', unfortunately got there late, small place, couldn't get in, hung out in the street listening. I don't really think I understood back then how good they were. Grew up listening to a lot of punk rock and they were completely different from they styles of any bands at that time. You were lucky to have even been able to overhear them live. I was born 3 years after this so I had zero chances. Fortunately, I've seen Mike Watt live twice though.

I was there that night. We were still a bit drunk from seeing them earlier in the day In Pedro. They played at Angel's Gate. I helped George carry in some gear, but for some reason we left and didn't go in. I saw them the day prior too, at a noontime show at Cal State LB. What a great weekend.

    A richer understanding
    Of what's already understood
No meanings from the here and now
What gift could be a work of art?
Can you call it the big foist?

I'm really digging this performance of "King Of The Hill." With this audio quality the guitar part is emphasized in a way I haven't heard in other live versions and the album version.

I need to be able to "LIKE" this more. The players are all amazing and the band was one of a kind. And here they are ripping through an epic setlist, at a friend's backyard party, months before D Boone's death.
