After many years of watching your videos I'm finally off next week on my first big trip around the south island of New Zealand for 30 days. Thanks for all the tips and advice over the years it's definitely been a big factor in getting me to where I am.
Hey crew, thank you for joining us tonight! This was such a great learning trip for us. Wyoming is amazing and we hope you get to explore it someday! Enjoy!
ExpeditionOverland I’d suggest the red desert, Bridger National Forest is definitely a gem, some of the areas surrounding Yellowstone are great, Medicine Bow National Forest, and Vedauwoo.
That 10/22 Take Down is awesome. Just ordered a Warlock II Suppressor super cheap so now while I wait for my stamp I get to put together a backpacker build. I've remembered back to this video for my survival rifle inspiration. Thanks yet again XO Team.
It’s the little lessons that make these productions so powerful. Something as small as realizing “I should spend more time walking in the woods” has the power to ground our entire very existence. That’s why we get out there. That’s why you do this work, to share these little things that we lose track of sitting in a cubicle. Thank you for reminding us what’s really real.
I live an hour from the Bighorns. It’s one of our best kept secrets. I grew up on the south side mostly, so it’s cool to see you guys on the north side. I’m looking forward to exploring more of my area. We love it here.
Maybe late the the party, but that nozzle you guys found is called a Forester twin tip. Standard equipment for putting out forest fires. And yes they are expensive, several hundred dollors but, they are just about indestructible. Love the episodes, you do a terrific job telling the story.
The Bighorn Mountains are awesome. I came in from the east on the Red Grade Road. It was foggy beginning the ascent but then snow when we got to higher elevations. Went down FR238 with a light dusting of snow and camped but woke up to a lot of snow. Good thing my 1997 80 series Land Cruiser has lockers otherwise I would have been there until the thaw. Lots of wildlife with minimal amounts of people. Great place!
Licensing on your vehicle in Wyoming is among the highest in the country but it’s not controlled by the DMV, it goes by county offices. However, we have pretty low taxes on just about everything else. No sales tax on groceries, and no state income tax, very low property taxes.
Hi guys! In meny cars if you take the battery off, it needs to be driven 15-25ml and the car learn itself and the tractioncontrol comes back. Bmw needs that you put steeringwheel totally left, totally right and then in the middle, and then you have to drive 15ml and it makes the calibreisson itself. Nice videos you have. Greetings from Finland.
Being from Wyoming I spend a few weekends ever summer at the big horns fourwheeling and snowmobiling In the winter . After watching your guys videos I finally took my Tacoma and spent a weekend on some trails up there this summer. It was awesome! Love the videos!!
First, thanks to all of you for this enjoyable video...way cool overland bed on your Tundra and thanks for showing that us full size truck guys can get places with out trucks!
Loved it,, as usual.. you know where you'd love to go?? JOHN BULL trail, and HOLCOMB VALLEY. Their both behind BIG BEAR LAKE & LAKE ARROWHEAD California in San Bernardino mountains in so cal.. I grew up up there running offroad clubs. Unfortunately I now live in Wisconsin, but by watching all of your videos ever since you first started, I know for a fact you guys would love those two areas I listed and if you ever decide to go there for a run, you can turn it into a four-day run, cuz there's hundreds of trails up there, and I would even fly home just to ride with you and be your navigator for the area
Thanks Clay for sharing some thoughts on procedures to how to deflate your tire properly. Love the place you’ve recently been. One of my bucket list to drive there next year. Salute to your crew.👍
Hi Expedition Overland! Love all your content seen's I found out this channel! Have been learning lots of things with you guys! So tricky in a situation when the car had electrical problems or check engine light and been far from a dealership or garage shop. I got a similar situation before, after that I got a Blue Driver OBD2 Scanner and always carry it in my car to avoid those future situations, cuz you never know how needed will be in some cases some systems of the car.
I don't know Richard personally, but he & Ashley have certainly produced some great adventure content with Desk to Glory as well as the stuff with Koyo productions! Look forward to his contribution on XO! See you out there some day,.
Great video, I enjoyed it. However I find it extremely unlikely that the Tundra was unable to provide enough power to make it up that hill, especially if it were in low range as it should have been. The more probable explanation was either 1) This was used as an excuse to showcase the winch on camera, or 2) The electrical issues were causing the truck to cut power. Also I wonder if the A-TRAC system was even functioning? Very nice truck none the less.
Glad the conversation of long wheel base was brought up. I’ve been look into getting a Tacoma TRD off-road double cab long bed and don’t plan to do any adventures as extreme as Expedition Overland does regular. However, I’d love to hear from Expedition Overland on the Pros and Cons of a Tacoma that has more than a foot longer wheel base, then the regular double cab. Heck maybe a video would be in order?
Wow that lack of power thing was strange. Seemed like it just wasn't in low range or something. Thought that V8 would have plenty power with those tires and stock gears
Its likely the fact that it has all the added weight of the box on the back, steel bumpers, extra gear, the winch, the trailer, etc. Plus, its a Platinum edition and not a TRD Off Road or Pro which come with lower gears. That thing was intended for a luxury truck buyer who would probably never take it off road.
I'm left with a few question. Like what was the electrical problem? Did it keep you out of 4w Lo? Why was the truck swaying so much at speed on dirt, was it a tracking issue or where you driving to fast on to low psi? Do you feel the Tundra need Lockers at least in the rear or were the LS diffs getting it done enough? Thats the first time I've ever heard anyone say the Tundra was short on power. Great vids, great work congrats oto the new member of the team.
That lack of power was really bizarre... nothing should be running out of power in 4low, even with a heavy rig like that. The low range gearing should be more than enough to overcome the weight.
Sound like the tundra needs a zero point calibration its a easy fix! some scanners will also set of the lights . I know the 4runner can be set by jumping two pins on the obd2 plug
Out of all of the bitchen trucks and gear that I've seen on your shows, you've finally outdone yourselves. That little .22 is awesome! I know what my wife's getting me for Christmas this year.
I recognize that location around 19:15 mark, I chickened out at that water crossing since I was out camping/exploring by myself a few years ago. Did you all make it back to the old camping cabin located at a dead end towards the end of the trail?
Clay, your totally right about the compromise- like a lot of things in life. But sometimes you don’t know what the compromise is or will be until you get into situations. Also bear in mind that without TC, you’d drive it different and with that weight, risk of damage is higher with weight shift etc. Ultimately- shakedowns teach you how to make the most of the rig.

Gotta show us your conquests!
How was it??

You inspired me to take my tundra pro overlanding
Link for the Outback style Truck bed for TACOMA’s pro!
That front bumper is a work of art...as indeed is this whole video. Thank you for letting us live vicariously!
Yes! Wheeling and hunting! This episode reminds me of why I became a subscriber. One of my favorite episodes.
Best Outlander episode yet! Awesome shots of the Fundra crawling, makes me want to take mine out onto some trails.
That 10/22 Take Down is awesome. Just ordered a Warlock II Suppressor super cheap so now while I wait for my stamp I get to put together a backpacker build. I've remembered back to this video for my survival rifle inspiration. Thanks yet again XO Team.
Love to see you Clay letting the boys drive your stuff and not get on them for the bangs and bumps. Makes the learning so much more enjoyable for them

This is one of my favorite episodes. Love the full size truck and love that 22

Was nice to see you guys on something a little more technical than usual. Looks like a great trip.
Couldnt agree more! I was expecting more dirt road “overlanding”
Pleasantly surprised.
Great Episode, guns, trucks, and camping, YAAASSS
Ooooh I can almost smell the woods and the fire. Great weekender
love the looks of that place may need to plan a trip you guys are lucky to have them close to you
Woo! Love that Tundra.
Best video in quite some time. Keep up the great work
I really liked the getting back to basics; how to build a campfire is a great skill every child should learn. Great job Clay.
Now that was a great episode! Some off roading, some hunting, friends hanging out....Thanks for sharing it!
Best rigs and best firearms... great stuff!
Y’all are the best!
Awesome video guys, and a beautiful truck!
Since it's so long you shoud put 37's on and regear. You guys are living my dream.😀
Agreed
The Tundra is a quite capable overland rig. Glad you are demonstrating that.
That drone control while chasing the truck is awesome.
Finally getting into my world, The Big horns and Black Hills, Beautiful area!
Love the Bighorn … This summer we treked the Medicine Bow NF. Following a Fremont Expedition … Fantast country, Great job!!
Great video... reminded me of some of the Alaska Yukon series
You make me so homesick
The Bighorn Mountains are awesome. I came in from the east on the Red Grade Road. It was foggy beginning the ascent but then snow when we got to higher elevations. I hear tell Wyoming has CRAZY high DMV fees, what say you?
I agree, the filming this team did made me wish I lived there. Love the drone shots.

I can not tell you how excited I was to see that you guys came to Wyoming! This state is absolutely amazing! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!!
Are you at all familiar with the area they were in?
Enjoyed meeting Clay, Rachelle and you all at Overland Expo East. Another great video, and as always, looking forward to each new episode!
Awesome rifle... I love it when you guys are using your vehicles to do other stuff like hunting.
This is what we call "boulder basin trail"... Just off of the shell lake road... tough place to take a trailer! You did great considering the trail!
that rifle is amazing.
should be for 1100
Illegal if they cross boarders
#alyx2 Yonde depends on the state.
@@alyx2yonde301 Into which boarder? Its basically a break down Ruger 10 22. What part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" don't you get.
Good stuff!
Great Video! I like snow chains for mud situations but you guys did great.
Absolutely Awesome! What a beauty!!!
I miss the big horns, used to live right outside Ten Sleep. Lots of fun trails all over!
Being from Wyoming I spend a few weekends ever summer at the big horns fourwheeling and snowmobiling In the winter . After watching your guys videos I finally took my Tacoma and spent a weekend on some trails up there this summer. It was awesome! Love the videos!!
I like these shorter trip episodes but I cant wait for a big expedition! Of the 3 major ones so far, the Alaska and the Yukon is my favorite one.
First, thanks to all of you for this enjoyable video...way cool overland bed on your Tundra and thanks for showing that us full size truck guys can get places with out trucks!
I just found your channel tonight. Awesome!! I cant wait to watch all of them. Cheers!

wow, this was a great episode!
I want to build a tundra so I can go to Wyoming try that out! Awesome video! Greatly Appreciated!
Great clip! Looks like a great team in the works. And yes Hunting Season - good luck and hope the kids have fun.
Good episode guys, back to basics. Like it
Camera and drone footage crushed it! Great episode.
Thanks Clay for sharing some thoughts on procedures to how to deflate your tire properly. Love the place you’ve recently been. One of my bucket list to drive there next year. Salute to your crew.👍

Another bit of fantastic content guys! Not sure if you take subscriber ideas, but I think a Trans-America trail series would be top-notch
Outstanding
Love the gun set up! Purchasing mine now as we speak lol
Who makes that gun?
Amazing
AMAZING ... just
Always loved your shows, thought the cinematography was especially good here...
I use a Ruger 10/22 with the Magpul Hunter stock as my truck gun. Great rifle no hearing protection needed.
I really liked the video guys! It was great watching and I think one of the better ones in a while. Good Job!
Badass little 10/22. I have pretty much the same setup minus the optic and supressor.
I don't know Richard personally, but he & Ashley have certainly produced some great adventure content with Desk to Glory as well as the stuff with Koyo productions! Look forward to his contribution on XO! See you out there some day,.
Tell us about that AirDown tool! A brief glimpse was all I needed. Want!
INDEflate. A new tool out of South Africa. Super rad.
What a top looking corner of the world there, would love to visit one day. And yeah, I prefer the second way of lighting the fire haha
AWESOME guys, great job. :)
Love that 22.
MIss Jeff already.
Great video. Looks like it was a great trip.
Outstanding job thanks have a great
This is where we go camping for a week every summer. I've driven almost every road up there. Should have hit up the old Uranium Mines.
Great vid and great countryside. Steve
I see a locking differential install video coming...
I WAS ABOUT TO COMMENT THAT HAHA $90k truck and no lockers......
I would get front and back lockers as first priority lol
That is a slick little 22 rifle.
Great episode! Really enjoyed that one. Reminded me of some of your older stuff!
Nice job guys !
Love you guys!!
love you guys all the best
Y'All make me want to visit Wyoming. Although I get the feeling that the Winters Y'All get in Montana and Wyoming are colder than what I'm used to.
Someone needs lockers :D. REAL lockers!
Another great video guys. Regards Dave G
Love your stuff! Almost want a Toyota. 😁 ha.
Yea toyota is very good bran you must try is its very good
It’s just that Jeep’s are way more reliable. 😁
Switch to the lightside and you will never look back.
Brilliant episode 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome production as usual ... amazing drone footage!
More trips like this!!!

Love your work guys
Thank you!
I love these videos so much

You would be fine 98% of the time. Look for the greatest advantage and pick the truck that suits you most often and the greater need.
AWESOME as usuall
Aww man i miss nate, and him wandering around finding small plants, and adding his own touch to editing. This was a great show nonetheless
Wow that lack of power thing was strange. Seemed like it just wasn't in low range or something. Thought that V8 would have plenty power with those tires and stock gears
Alex Stern I agree I think it was traction issue or maybe lack of a locking rear end.
@@slange455 Or it's in the sponsor deal that they have to use their Warn winch in every episode...
@@jspeedadventures got em
With a manual gearbox it would be smaller issue
Its likely the fact that it has all the added weight of the box on the back, steel bumpers, extra gear, the winch, the trailer, etc. Plus, its a Platinum edition and not a TRD Off Road or Pro which come with lower gears. That thing was intended for a luxury truck buyer who would probably never take it off road.
I’ve got a 2004 Sequoia that limits where I can go with the long wheelbase but usually I go where I want 90% of the time. Good video
Awesome video XO 👍👍

The best gluten and dairy heavy dish is mac&cheese, I'll tolerate no discussions on this subject hahaha
Pretty darn cool trail it’s like our foothills up here in Alberta
