Pro tips from someone who has installed this: I highly recommend using an oscillating multi tool rather than an angle grinder. With an oscillating cutter, you can make very nice, exact corners with direct plunges with FAR more control, without fear you'll go a tad too far or accidentally knock something you didn't want to, which almost always happens with an angle grinder. It also makes for a very exact cut the first time with zero need to go back and deal with anything outside deburring/beveling. They are CHEAP now and so are the blades. Even for just one bumper install, it's WELL worth it. Last, any place that may contact the new bumper OR have cut, trim with black door edge guard for an actual factory look. It also prevents noise and tapping flutter if something is loose and just general higher frequency rattle. It will mast it and also prevent wear on your fresh powder coat. Good luck. I did mine, myself, in the garage in an evening.
What are the torque specs for all these bolts. Nothing is shown or stated. Will those numbers be in the instructions with the bumper? Would it be possible to have those in the in the description?
Fair warning, this bumper will NOT accommodate a winch on the 2022 Tundra. The twin turbos have two intercoolers, one on each side of the winch tray, and the space between is fouled up by the hoses connecting them. You'd have to find a way to completely re-locate the hoses. While the 30" light bar fit nicely, no way do the Heretic Studios light pods that they recommended fit. We spent a couple hours trying to find some way to mount them and finally just mounted them externally. That being said, I am constantly being approached by people who are just drooling about how good the bumper looks. Really sharp!
We went a little more into detail on clearing space for a winch in our Covert Bumper install video for the 22' Tundra. We're running a 10,000lb Warn Winch in our Tundra. Thanks for the support!
Yes! We had an oven that wasn't holding temperature properly, which has since been replaced. And we have improved a lot of our procedures since last year. Haven't had any issues since.
In the near future we will have a "work around" module, programmed to act like the air dam's still connected. But for now we just strip it down to a smaller size which we will further explain in a future video.
These videos are great but I'm not sure I trust myself to install this or the covert bumper myself. Especially considering how much this truck costs! Thanks for the video!
It is definitely intimidating working on a brand new truck! Reach out to our customer service team and they can get you a list of shops that can install it for you: (208) 528-0664
In my opinion Toyota should have offed this as a factory option.. to manufacture a 4x4 off-road truck without metal bumpers or tow hooks is just crazy I’m a Toyota fan but my 2017 tundra is built like a tank compared to the new tundras If you are listening Mike Swears I want to know what you and all the Toyota engineers were thinking???
My guess would be new traffic safety laws. I bet other trucks won't have steel bumpers anymore either because of vehicle vs. pedestrian collisions. We've been moving away from them for years now to the point that only the rear bumpers were steel

How will camera relocation work if I want to get the trd pro grille?

We don’t currently have the torque specs in the instructions but hopefully we can includes those in the future
Does the baja front bumper fit the 22-23 trd pro hybrid tundra?
Yes it does!
Damn I want this so bad but I don’t even trust anyone even with the sensors 😂 You did a great job by the way!
That is a cool bumper!!
Too bad there isn't a check list or instructions with the bumper. The video is nice, just not a replacement for a list.
Nice Work
CBI OFF-ROAD IS AWESOME
I was wondering if that was Maxxs
Truck
Maxx is a Great Guy
Yes, it's Maxx's Tundra! He's definitely one of the best personalities in the industry!

Do they have the powder coat issues worked out?

Thanks, great to hear, def the best looking bumper out there @@cbiprinsuinstalls
Dayyumm….the 1st time you did this on a ‘22, how’d you know what to cut? 😅
A lot of R&D testing. Definitely put our 3D scanner to use!
What did you do with the electronic air dam?
In the near future we will have a "work around" module, programmed to act like the air dam's still connected. But for now we just strip it down to a smaller size which we will further explain in a future video.
Nice video congratulation
Thank you!
can you remove the shutter louvers entirely?
Is it better to go to like a 3rd party person like you to get this done, or a dealership?
If you give our customer service team a call, they can guide you to your closest install shop options! (208) 528-0664
Wish we could see a good view of how it looks at the end
Are y’all going to make a rear bumper?
A rear bumper is definitely in the plans!
@@cbiprinsuinstalls yes please! Im a big fan of the swing arm rear bumper with the camp tables! It would be great to have that for 2022+ Tundras!
The safety sense radar is no longer functional, correct?
It’s still fully functional 👍
I ordered a bumper they told me 4 weeks......it's been 4 weeks now there telling me 5 more weeks. Not feeling really confident
