      @@cheeseify still going strong , since then I won a KE for free on Christmas contest and now I have both SE and KE and can compare them first hand , the SE is way more steady and works better after initial calibration, handles long prints better ( but credit to KE of doing them 2-3x faster / same print ) but not as high quality. This week I had to print 1000 single wall roses , and had to use both printers to do them in time , fun fact is that at those single walled prints the SE stomped the KE (don't know why) but imagine that the SE finished a batch in 1h and the KE in 1h30 with lesser quality even tho the print speeds were : 90mms Vs 180 mms 😑 and the SE was still faster for still unknown reason at those particular prints ( and also stronger , I wish I could show a photo of just how big difference was in final prints between those 2 ) . The only upgrade I would do to the SE would be dual cooling fan duct ( maybe a 5015 blower for that ) which would be 20$ tops . Other than that it's perfect and no VFA in comparison to the KE . I now understand the limits of a bed slinger , curios after my adxl 345 arrives if it improves after input shaping on the KE , but I won it for free brand new and already invested in almost half his price on upgrades ( Y linear rails etc ) meanwhile the SE is stock and works .

      SD cards are a horrible user experience having to swap back and forth from computer and printer after every test print... Wifi on some of the printers I've used is a little bit iffy but just get a pi and use octoprint, you'll never print without it ever again... Sending files directly from the computer to the printer is invaluable instead of walking back and forth with a tiny SD card 20 times while you try to get the tolerances perfect.

    Be warned! This printer “forgets” it’s z offset after a bit (5-7 prints) and has to to be manually corrected because running the auto leveling doesn’t actually correct this. And if you do it too much or follow the Creality video where they tell you to reset everything, you can brick your machine or while running the auto leveling the print head will continuously slam into the print bed with such force to bend it and the supports and start to dry your stepper. Ask me how I know! 🤣

    I would rather complain about a 3D printer with a touchscreen but not a nice knob than the opposite. Touchscreen just means it's one more surface to clean and get weared out, and being a display I would not like to wear it much. I honestly really like to just be able to do everything on a knob. I wouldn't mind also to have to use SD cards to print if the quality was good with no hassle, but I can imagine how annoying it can get if your computer is not close and you have to use adapters to use them. Wish computers case's (and maybe mobos) had SD Card slots.

      It's not a true belted Z since the belt just ties two lead screws together, but it still makes a very stable Z motion. The auto z is an incredible bit of engineering that they thought of! The next step for a "Pro" version would be to fully remove the V wheels on the X and Z axis.

    As for quality and speeds, it‘s able to hit 300-350mm/s for infill and 500mm/s Travel.
    For anyone who think you need an pi for this. Nope, you can go with Marlin… which is fairly crap. I would recommend to watch for the BTT PI or the cheap Fly Pi Lite V2 and go for Klipper.

I know the functionality of the parts is the same but i dont like turning in work parts from my upgraded ender s1 plus. It doesnt claim to be a professional printer so im not talkin smack, just saying. The bambu x1c does produce parts thelat im comfortable selling for alot more but still at a reasonable price for a work machìne. If its not for work, definitly get a creality, i love mine.

    Ender 3s are out of date, idk why people recommend them. I got one and got stuck in upgrade hell after trying to fix some issues
    I got a flashforge adventurer 3, theres bad things about it like lower max temps, proprietary slicer, etc but for an intro machine id definitely recommend it. I want a K1 max one day, creality makes good stuff, but theres fully enclosed starting printers now that are just so much easier to use

      @ILLUMINATED-1 10 месяцев назад +1

      ps the aforementioned enclosed printers also have wifi, and mine has touch screen. Proprietary nozzles is also one big drawback, but like i said, for a beginner. Beginners shouldnt be screwing with nozzles too much, anyway, imo. I just enjoyed my time with this one a lot more

      @JJShankles  10 месяцев назад +1

      I totally agree. There are some really good enclosed printers that open up a lot of possibilities. I also think Creality should make new names instead of calling everything an Ender 3. This one is so much better than any Ender 3 they have ever made, but makes the best and cheapest option to get started. I also think a lot of people might want to upgrade past this one to get some nicer features like you said!

    How about head to head with a Sovol SV06??? When on sale prices on the latter can get you the SV06 for $10-$40 more.
