Golf 7 GTI vs. Golf 7 GTD - 0-220 km/h acceleration (1080p)

Autobahn acceleration comparison between the 2014 Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI (220 petrol hp, 350Nm) and the 2014 VW Golf 7 GTD (184 Diesel hp, 380Nm). While the MK7 GTI has the dual clutch DSG transmission, the GTD "only" has the manual transmission, probably giving an advantage of 0,5 sec. to 100 and 2,0 sec. to 200 km/h for the GTI. Both cars had 4 doors and ran on 225/40 R18 tires. To me the outcome was not really surprising as the GTI felt very very quick when I drove it, still the GTD engine being more punchy in the mid rpms. Those speedometer comparisons are only meant to show a rough estimate on how these cars will perform in real life. Many factors as wind speed and temperature of course are affecting the outcome of this video.
