Where have all the good artists like Paula Cole gone? Please come back and save us all from today's crap.
Well said 🤗
Paula's Voice is amazing ,and the drummer and guitar player were fantastic.
I'm a DJ in the So Cal mountains. We play this song once a week. Why? Because it has real life soul and because Paula Cole is incredible. RD "The Growler".
At the time of this writing, the song is 26 years old, and it still bangs! Three instruments -- a voice, drums, and guitar... but such a full record. Proof positive that solid writing and strong performance are all you need. It's still one of the more unique recordings in the canon of contemporary pop!
That is very well said and I completely agree. Talent trumps flash any day of the week. Such a good cut of this song.
Paula has still got it. She sounds fantastic.
This version is so alive. And shows how good the singer really is.
If one could fall in love with a voice....this is the one.
Amazing!you actually said what i have always thought about this song.I owe you a beer.
I agree I love this women
Yeah I heard this song a hundred million times and never paid attention but for some reason I just wanted to look it up again and wow!
Yes!!!!! Love how she switched the lyric.. "you go wash the dishes...while I go have a beer!"
I dig the line change in the 3rd verse. Brings the point home!
I agree..
It’s subtle but so on point.
I loved it too!!!
makes me feel like i don't understand the song now though
@@dancollins2568 In this version, she turned the tables on him
They should all win an award for this absolutely awesome
Such a good version of such a great song - Paula Cole is probably one of the best female musicians of all time and was so underrated.
I agree... Absolutely
March 2024 and still a classic. The best to Paula.
June5th. Amazing artists!👍🏻🇨🇦🙋♀️❤️
June 27 I agree... a classic
Wow for just a guitar and drums the music sounds great
She has a beautiful voice too
Your not kidding!!! Wonder where I was when this was out??
@@jefffannin8099 Talk about nailing it with such a simplistic approach...like David said....vocals, guitar & drums.
She’s always beautiful no matter what.
You don't need any more when you get a perfect song
Absolutely delightful in 2024!
Oh MY!! That was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The drummer and guitar player are MAGNIFICENT! Always have been and always will be a HUGE fan of Paula Cole.
Paula Cole and band brought us a stunning, fresh new song and style, when this first came out. Paula still has that voice and drive, thank you for sharing.
Such an amazing voice and those musicians are so tight! Lost count of how many times I’ve listened to this. They say that power is nothing without control, and Paula has both in spades!
This shit is so good. I'm all about heavy metal. The heavier the better to me. Illegible lyrics are a requirement mostly. However...this is a diff level. This is talent i cant comprehend. Its so fucking well done. In this live version I can hear the guitar notes way better and they bring such sadness to me . its bothering me. This song is depressing me. Its powerful enough to distort my brain to thinking im sad. I am envyous of whoever wrote those notes as well. Its so simple yet, id have NEVER been able to even write that . so much here.
agreed!
So well said, my friend..!
Considerably better singing and writing than most of the crap being pushed out today.
Same bro. Death metal, thrash, and hardcore punk are my kind of jams but this is definitely dope song to jam to when no one’s around lol
Sometimes it's good to change it up now and then.
Where have all the creative performers gone? What we have now days is trash. Paula is part of the good talent and an authentic performance.
You didn't really think getting music for free was going to attract artists did you?
This song never gets old
I have adored Paula Cole since her Peter Gabriel days. It is wonderful to know she has still been recording/performing. It is also wonderful to see her develop a beauty which is not commercial but absolutely natural, growing into a woman's body. Thank you for posting this.
I bought this when it was released. I love Paula Cole. Takes me right back to my youth and the age of Dawson’s Creek. ❤️
She still hits all the notes.
Her vocals are so crisp! This track never gets old and the lyrics are so on point.
She is awesome. Peter Gabriel would never allow a novice onto his stage ...he recognized her talent from day one and she complimented him well.
Paula can sing. So close to the recording without studio effects. Awesome
This song perfectly captures the feeling of being married or in a LTR when the honeymoon phase is over and disappointments accumulate that’s what makes it so relatable to men and women.
drum alone was superb!
Agree 😊
I liked this song when it first came out more than 20 years ago. She still seems to be very enthusiastic!
As a husband, I’ll still wash the dishes and we could still both have a beer 😊
Thank you sir! As a non wife nor do I know you in person, nor know of your family system, however, I highly respect and appreciate your logic!
Thanks for giving husbands a good name! :)
I lived in Idaho when this song came out in the 1990's. Amazing song then and it is still amazing. To hear Paula belt this out on stage in an intimate setting is truly amazing. She has not lost any of her conviction of when she wrote this song one night.
She is having so much fun!
haha I love the change in lyrics: "YOU go wash the dishes, while I go have a beer."
Yeah, it looks like she's been having many beers!!
sloanhadley Kind of silly since the woman in the song is pining for tradition. But traditional gender roles aren’t allowed in the current year.
Alex NutCasio I don’t think you understood. I didn’t literally mean they’re not allowed. But the growing and vocal far-left is lobbying hard against them.
sloanhadley Ruined the song
Yeah it def seems like she isn't feeling the same as when she wrote this song.
She is so beautiful and just pure talent.
Awesome. Wow. I have always loved this tune. Paula Cole knows how to sing.
Beautiful rendition by a beautiful and talented lady. Thanks to everyone for sharing.
I could watch this all day
Played The Coach House Opening For Paula Cole.... She Was Awesomely Amazing....
It's amazing what 3 talented musicians can put together with only 2 instruments and a singer, over the top all around performance by Paula!
Real music!
This is the very essence of art. The expectations and contrast between ideals and reality ... the inevitable changes faced by both men and women through years of the "human condition" ... all that suppressed disappointment, anger and pain in one 4 minute 41 second piece of music. I just don't know how Paula can still sing this song with so much emotion, and finish with a smile on her face. Whenever I hear it, it's like a punch to the gut.
Versatile, perfectly controlled voice, musical genius, great songwriter! Under-appreciated.
100%
I agree she is Amazing
Now i Will play with My guitar and your beautiful voice tthanks you Regards From Col
Love it. What great voice and the music is fantastic.
paula you nailed it x still to this day one of my faves beautifull woman ❤
She's still got it. She sounds great. Right on.
A big thumbs up to this! Excellent musicians and voice!
An underrated classic if ever there was one.
Fabulous voice 😊
We just don't see talent like this, today. When she appeared with this song in the 90's I immediately spotted her as a true talent in terms of composition and voice delivery. Unfortunately, I started losing my hearing and dropped out of the music industry out of necessity. It was good to see her here, some years later.
Wow!!! She was the best!!
She still is the best!😂🇨🇦🏴🙋♀️
Great drummer.
My first time seeing/hearing this . Very enjoyable thank you Paula.
winner for the best new artist Grammy awards 1997 .. 'this fire album' is perfect
She should have won ala Alanis Morissette Jagged Little Pill. She wrote and produced all songs. Who does that?
Drummer and guitarist killed it
She knocked it out of the park 🤛
I love it, great performance.
I agree
She's still just as great
AWESOME 👏
Voice hasn’t changed wow !
Priceless!
Hermosa canción ❤❤me trae hermosos recuerdos Gracias Paola Cole
I love this song! I hope she found her a good Cowboy. 🤠
@Uncle Freddy For real??
Most excellent! bravo
I think she looks a lot like Lucy Lawless -Xena
Damn! She's not only still singing great but she looks even more fantastic than she did back in the 90's.
Exact opposite for me. This song came out when I had been married 12 years. The first 10 years, I worked 2 sometimes three jobs, all so hubby could have a new car every few years, never missed a happy hour or lunch! I even paid his car insurance. No children. He had a side chick at work, and went to London with her. There is still resentment. But, I love this song, puts all my 'feelings' in one place. Hubby pretty much still hates this song... Tough.
Know the feeling
Wait, you're still with him?
GREAT sound all the way around for live !
That song is as good as it gets
Amen. She really plugged into something powerful. I especially like the bridge: I am wearing my new dress tonight/But you don’t even notice me”. Wow.
Makes me want to get up and 💃 dance
Thanks for All ....
Simply AMAZING!!!!!! goosebumps
Love this. Best version.
A great song- stripped bare and bloody wonderful !!
I love this never gets old great feel good music
I remember This song When I was at school.
Glad I came across this...
Love it... Still
Absolutely loved this song in the day and now. Bravo to her, still great and still looking good. Wow!!
I always thought this song was more tongue-in-cheek than literal
Natural beauty!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This acoustic version is the best ! Raw and powerful.
she still sounds good
I hate anything about country but I love this song
Absolutely brilliant superb and, this lady is a real lady all natural lady, pure good beautiful lady,
just perfect. and only accompanied by drums and a guitar! brava!
I love this ❤
The sound of experience and the sound of the talent!
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! I love this song.
She looks exactly the same , and sounds so amazing ! No wonder she’s a professor of music
OHMYGOD this is fabulous, over the top fantastic. Hey girls, let the guys do the dishes, take care of the kids and let us ladies have a fun night, drink, eat and be happy. Come on, it's our turn.
Simply awesome! She's such a great singer. Don't know what prevented her from attaining more success. One of the highest compliments she ranks up there with the best. Great song also!
Paula is a national treasure
The unplugged version is amazing. She's very unique and amazing singer and they make a great team with guitar and drummer player
Wow! amazing
Count me as a new fan. I'm really disappointed that I didn't know who Paula Cole was before watching this video. Great song and performance.
Shes fantastic!
Solid playing, especially the drummer....all that without a click track
Drummers do use clocks. People who claim they are a drummer use clocks.
Beautiful
Loved her with Peter Gabriel
Wow. That is absolutely class, 20 years on. Amazing, still a great voice. This is unreal 💕💕💕💕💕💕
This still sounds good half decades ago.
