I had silkies, But the red tailed hawks preyed on them and after they discovered they could drop into the silkie run In the course of a summer they had all been taken, and some times consumed in my garden. Hawks are protected here So I never replaced the silkies My grand children had made pets of them. How we missed the fuzzy little birds.

I'm a city girl but I would love to have some chickens. It's not allowed where I'm at but would love to have chickens. Your homestead looks so peaceful and beautiful. I know it's hard work but to look out your window and see wildlife and the gorgeous scenery. My dad was from Seivierville and I loved visiting there. I miss him.

I have raised several breeds of Bantams. Some of my favorites, Cochins, Japanese, Silkies, d’Uccle- mille Fleurs- they are gentle, tame, colorful, good mothers. Have you raised them before? Love Banty 🐓

Like the chicken run. Really nice.Tucker milling has good feed. We use it for Turkeys, quail and cornish cross. We keep ducklings out of general population for 3-4 weeks. Ducklings get Purina Flock raiser crumbles. Really good feed for babies and mommy can eat it too. Really glad your enjoying your new farm. 👍👍

Patara, I don't often comment but wanted to let you know I have been following since the beginning and truly appreciate the value of your videos. Your silkies look great. I have had silkies here and there over the years, and they are great little birds. If you think silkie babies are small you should see the Serama bantams that I raise.
